Niche, Fetish, Alternative Clubs
Does anyone has insight into doing fetish/alternative work? I've realized that there is a very narrow standard of acceptable looks in most strip clubs and while I could adhere to those standards if I put in work, doing that doesn't align with my personal beliefs (but I still love stripping!!)
I am very pretty, however I am a bit curvier than the average stripper. I could lose the weight, but I am healthy and I'd rather just feel confident and sexy as I am. I have many facial piercings and I don't shave my armpits or legs. I am also queer and I'd be happier catering to a more diverse clientele. Right now it comes down to conforming for the sake of the job or search a little harder for a place that works for me. I think I might fit in better at a niche club.
Any advice on how to break into this field would be appreciated! Thanks <3<3 :-*:-*
Re: Niche, Fetish, Alternative Clubs
Portland is probably the only city you'd find a club that would take you if you're 100% unwilling to budge on your appearance, but the earning potential there isn't supposed to be the highest since there are so many clubs and dancers. Even there, you may be hard-pressed to find a club as alternative as you are. I think your best bet is to go the private dancer route and advertise on FetLife, etc., because that's where you'll find the clientele that digs your look.
Re: Niche, Fetish, Alternative Clubs
Ummm you must shav if you want to be a striper no custys like hair... I mean armpit?? come onn! THATS DISGUSTING AND ALL MEN LOVE NICE SOFT SMOOTH LEGS I DONT THINK YOULL DO WELL IF YOU DONT SHAVE SORRY the piercing thing is ok ive seen ssome strippers with that and it can be sexy.
Re: Niche, Fetish, Alternative Clubs
You're going to have to sacrifice some personal comfort for this job, sorry. Your market is a very small and not consistently profitable segment (for clubs). I'd do camming or escorting.
If you love stripping that much you're going to have to make some changes. We all do. Nobody is exempt.
Re: Niche, Fetish, Alternative Clubs
if you love to dance i'd take dance classes or maybe teach them! but even if you did dig through the entire country to find such a place, only maybe one out of every 8,000+ men are going to be down with lots of hair sticking out of your pits. stripping is the worst choice of job you could get if you don't wanna shave your body hair. camming, clips, escorting, private hairy fetish parties are all fine i'd go with those if you REALLY can't part with the arm-pit locks
Re: Niche, Fetish, Alternative Clubs
Just shave: the rest of you sounds fine.
Re: Niche, Fetish, Alternative Clubs
You say you love stripping, but I have to ask: have you actually done it? Are you currently working as a stripper and shaving, removing facial piercings, etc, and want to find a club where you don't have to? Or did you manage to find a place that hired you "as is" and you are looking for a better spot?
If it's the latter, you should probably stay put. Seriously, be happy you found a place that doesn't make you work harder to conform to mainstream hotness standards. You are not going to get paid to dance for a diverse group of hot queer people who happen to be into body hair.
If you're just curious about dancing, read some of the old threads. The advice is pretty consistent.
Re: Niche, Fetish, Alternative Clubs
To clarify- yes I am a stripper. I am very good at it, I am a great dancer and I make good money doing it. I was previously shaving. Other than my body hair I am very petite and extremely feminine looking.
If it's possible I'd like to find work that aligns with my values and lifestyle more. I didn't ask if I could work at any old strip club with hairy legs and pits, as I accept that that simply isn't realistic. I also didn't ask to be insulted about my personal choices- to be told that I am disgusting.
What I was asking for is information from people who have EXPERIENCE doing fetish parties or other queer/niche work and could give me advice.

Do you have any insight into getting into doing hairy fetish parties?

I think there was some confusion since you posted this in Stripping General. You might have better luck in Other Work.
Re: Niche, Fetish, Alternative Clubs
I was not aware there was such a category. Thanks
Re: Niche, Fetish, Alternative Clubs
Search on FetLife for local events, and google for local dungeon/ fetish parties. That being said, building a reputation in the area can take a while. Camming or making videos on clipsforsale you could start immediately
