I want to start selling makeup/skincare/perfume/hair care stuff in the club
How do I go about doing this?
I'd rather move around to different clubs so can I just call and ask them if I can set up in the locker room?
I've seen house mom's sell clothes and jewelry, but very rarely do they sell makeup (or if they do, it's
stuff that's ordered, like avon-- or it's small packets of mineral eyeshadow-- that I've seen personally anyway.)
Thoughts? I want to dance but I'm getting some static from a particular club and I think they're going through
restructuring (or else maybe it's me and the manager is just really good at hiding it?) and not hiring dancers
for awhile.
I'm not really keen on going to another club at the moment. Maybe I will, but my plan was to start dancing
at this club and then start selling makeup. Now I'm wondering if I should just travel to clubs in the area
and sell.
*if it matters, I'm selling department store stuff for the most part so pretty much brands most dancers would know.

You can try calling, but they may try to blow you off..I used to sell outfits & had better luck when I just showed up (at a good time, not when it's super busy). I also had better luck selling stuff @ 'spas'/body rub places
Re: I want to start selling makeup/skincare/perfume/hair care stuff in the club
I've never seen this done done and I honestly can't imagine it would be terribly lucrative, especially if there is already a house mom in the club and she's got the basics on hand. I could see a dancer passing around an Avon catalogue or whatever and doing orders for her fellow dancers, so perhaps that's is something to consider once you're dancing somewhere and have established yourself a bit?

How much time during a night would you spend taking up space in the dressing room? Wouldn't it make more sense to spend that time on the floor selling dances?

Errrgh, to be terribly honest with you, it's actually somewhat annoying to have someone with a rack of costumes and makeup and shit taking up space in the dressing room.. I agree that dancing is a better choice...
Re: I want to start selling makeup/skincare/perfume/hair care stuff in the club
There used to be this woman that came and sold outfits at my old club, she would come at the very end of the night and she always did really well, but she did it for years and everyone knew her. There was another guy who used to sell shoes/clothes at another club I worked at and he did well and was set up outside in the smoking area. But I've never seen people sell make up products, and I don't know how well you would do unless you're selling them at a discounted rate. The only reason I bought clothes from the woman who came to my old club was because her outfits were all handmade so I knew no one else was going to come in with them and she used to make stuff custom for me (I would tell her I liked a fabric but I wanted a different style or liked a style but wanted a different fabric, etc). It wasn't for the convenience of buying in the club because they were more expensive than going to a store! But you're not going to have that advantage because everything you're selling they can buy in a department store and for cheaper than you're asking I would imagine.
Also, I like buying make-up products in the stores because I can ask the sales people to show me how to use them, they can suggest other products, etc and I don't know if girls are gonna have time to deal with that if they're working...
Re: I want to start selling makeup/skincare/perfume/hair care stuff in the club
a.) Not dancing at the moment as I'm ironing out where to work. Got hired at one place and then got the run around.
b.) I can sell them cheaper because I buy them in bulk. A lot are testers but are hardly touched. I would not be selling them "new" and the women would have full disclosure that they're opened products. I also wouldn't be selling something like mascara as there's no way to sanitize that.
c.) Some weeks I want to dance. Some weeks I don't. Obviously, I'd make more money dancing, but I don't always want to do that so making the most money isn't the bottom line.
thanks though :)

Are you open to selling make up other than in the club?
I know there are a few groups on facebook where people dedicated to selling 2nd hand make up at discounted prices. You could post your offerings and link to your website.

I do that already and like doing that, but it would be nice to go to some place once a week or so and see if anyone is interested in person. I like the idea of the spas. Re: strip clubs, I'll likely wait for now until I'm working at one.
