XFINITY internet has 105/20 available in my area!
So it's door to door marketing season. The Comcast guys came by and my area just got the option for the 105/20. The salesmen really started pushing when they found out our contract with current providers are up and we are paying full price now (Satellite/internet bundle). At first I was hesitant to even think about it until my BF did a speed test and saw that we had a 2.6 upload speed (busy time, around 5:30pm). Even after the 1 year intro period, the new bundle would cost the same as we are paying now, but we would have a kickass connection! We're going to discuss the switch this weekend.
I'm just so excited by the idea of having an incredible upload speed like that! When I was camming, I had speeds between 4 and 5, my placement was crap. Stream wasn't too bad, but there was lag and occasional choppiness. I just figured it was my computer (I need an upgrade anyhow). I'd only get 1 or 2 customers an hour to go private for a few minutes. If I do switch internet, I can only imagine how my placement and stream would improve! I haven't cammed in a few months (medical reasons), but I'm excited for when I do get back to it. It will just make uploading my content that much quicker for now!
I'm just excited! Ladies, shop your local providers! Tis the season for deals!

Nice, I have it too except they want to charge me $400 to install it, lol. I can wait.

That was the thing I was afraid of. Luckily the salesmen wrote out the entire work order/contract at our door and gave us a copy for our records if we chose to get the service. They gave us some super sweet deals in the contract. My bf made sure to double check all the stuff the contract said when he called to set up service. He knows I would call and complain super quick if the bill said something different. I end up embarrassing him...
I saw comments in tech forums where people got the installation charge lowered or totally removed. Since you have vanilla businesses and could possibly give recommendations it may be worth a shot to check with them every few months to see if they have any sweet deals going on or if they will make a special deal for you.
