Re: The 'Sick Girls' Camming Club
OK, that's it. My depression is creeping again and camming is doing me no good at all. When I'm logged on for six hours and can make as little $10 and am genuinely considering going outside my comfort zones to make money because the lack of cash is wrecking my self-esteem and I need to feel good... it's just not worth it. Vanilla work is steady so far and I'll try and pull a shift whenever I'm free, but I need some me-time pronto, before I have another meltdown. I'll be back when the cunts have money for me again.

I'm sorry to hear this....my friend has suffered with vertigo and found relief with the 'Epley Maneuver'.
Please check out this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K4S4CbuN6QA
She utilised a neck brace like in the video and reported how effective it was. It took her about a week for symptoms to subside.
She further found that camomile tea with guided relaxation reduced the tinnitus. While, she continues to sleep to soft nature sounds nightly.
I hope you find some peace and the symptoms subside, Take care

You girls are so amazing. I like coming to this thread because it shows how human we are.
For panic attacks, do this: breathe in through your nose for a count of 4. Hold for a count of 4. Release through your mouth for a count of 8. Do that for about 2 minutes.
For the vertigo, there are lavender drops that you can buy from CVS. They are for vertigo. Dab a couple of drops behind each earlobe.
I suffer with terrible anxiety. It's a struggle to go online some days. We are amazing for pushing through. Our job is NOT easy. We have to deal with pretty tough shit. We always have to be on guard. It's stressful.
I'm glad we all have each other for support!

So I was then out on Gabapentin, which you take for a week alongside the above meds as it builds up in your system, then week 2 increase the Gabapentin and stop the others.
My spine issue is mostly in my neck, compressed cervical nerve. Pain is in arm, fingers and shoulder though not my neck. Been offered surgery but the risks are not worth it at all. Am using the meds and having specialist massages and don't laugh but I sleep with a neck brace to keep neck straight. Works though but a passion killer lol.
Is it spinal stenosis? I have that. I had surgery for it in 2010. It didn't help. I can't stand for too long. It sucks. Hugs to you.

Thank you so much, ive had them for over 20 yrs and i usually do the breathing thing but i never did it for 8 seconds through the mouth. Usually its for 4. I will have to try that and see how it works, usually i can calm myself down but it takes awhile to get to that point. Im going to try your suggestion. Im sorry you suffer with the anxiety as well.It is nice to talk to others who understand. Thanks for always being supportive ladies and im always here if you all need to talk. Hugs to everyone.

Re: The 'Sick Girls' Camming Club
I had the worst anxiety Wednesday. I had a camathon that had been planned for almost a week and, while I did it, I had this horrible anxiety grow. There's one med I'm on just daily for maintenance and one for when my anxiety gets bad and I'm about to crack. I use the second very sparingly, cuz I only get so many- but technically I can take it twenty times a month. Plus, one of my cats was really lethargic and not eating, I scheduled a vet visit and was so worried about her. She's fine now btw :) so when I finally took the stupid pill, It took forever to work and I could barely get through my shift cuz I was so emotionally and physically exhausted. That was Wednesday and I'm still recovering mentally and physically. I so shouldn't have put off taking it and I sure as Hell wasn't gonna cut my shift short, cuz I refuse to lose out on money. Fuck, that was stupid.

Sorry to hear you had a hard time during your camathon. Im also sorry to hear about your cat but glad shes fine now. That is so scary in itself to deal with especially during that time when youre feeling so bad. I hope you start to feel much better soon. I had to take off 2 days to get myself feeling better i hate losing money but sometimes it is needed to get the rest i need. It sure does take alot out of you. Hope you feel better hugs.

^ I used to inhale counting to 5 and then exhale counting to 5.It's how my therapist advised me and I think it helped me when I was having derealisation symptom in panic atacks. My panic atacks and anxiety seem to be gone but I still do the breathing when I'm angry or frustrated, seems to help with that too.

Thanks so much for the info, i really should try that before getting pissed off or when im getting stressed. I bet it will help tremendously. I know it sounds dumb but i never really did the breathing exercizes when i was stressed or angry just during my panic attacks. Im going to see how this does for me all around. Thanks ladies.

Re: The 'Sick Girls' Camming Club
Yoga, in particular yoga inversions, like 'shoulder stand' are really beneficial for anxiety and depression. Even if you can't physically do the full pose, you can lie on your back facing a wall with your buttocks touching the wall and your legs straight up on the wall. Whilst in this pose focus on your breath cycle. Shiva Rea is one of my favourite yoga instructors, her voice is so calming and she focuses on relaxation and meditation throughout her practice.
The four part breath as previously spoken about in this thread is fantastic. My favourite though is 'alternate nostril breathing' - as it immediately reduces heart rate and distracts from negative thought patterns. With one finger close off the right nostril and then inhale slowly X5 through the left, pause for X1 count and then close the left nostril and exhale X5 through the right nostril. Then inhale through the right nostril and repeat the process for 10 cycles, ending with X5 exhales out the left nostril. In time you can gradually extend the count of each inhale and exhale.
Another effective strategy is meditation and guided relaxation, in the form of progressive muscle relaxation. There are some fantastic CD's on the market and even on utube. I find I can always relax more deeply when I have auditory stimulation as it makes me completely focus on the persons voice without allowing my mind to wander to other thoughts and activities. Muscle relaxation is beneficial in improving the functioning of the parasympathetic nervous system.
Anyway, I hope that these strategies may be helpful to someone who is experiencing anxiety or mood disturbances. Take care :)

Re: The 'Sick Girls' Camming Club
I've got to be one of the weirdest people in the world because breathing exercises actually *increase* my anxiety instead of reduce it.
I have had some luck with using the tapping technique. I'd probably have even more luck with it if I'd just remember that it is something I can do to help calm myself down when I am stressed. I never remember till long after the fact. (sighs)

I have to research tapping. My therapist highly recommends it!! There are also great apps out there. I have one on my phone for panic. I listen to it when I'm freaking out. It's a woman reassuring you repeatedly that you're going to be ok. It's temporary. It's great!

Re: The 'Sick Girls' Camming Club
I tried the tapping once awhile ago, forgot about it until you mentioned it justanothercamgirl and i felt pretty calm after but havent done it during a full blown one yet. Might have to try it again sometime when i feel one coming on and see if it helps.

Wanted to share something I just found. I might try this. Was in a dollar store today, was fine, until I was in line at the checkout.
When the line behind me started to fill up, and the cashier was hella slow, I could feel my entire body get weak, and my heart started pounding.
It was sooo hot in there also, which sadly brings on panic attacks.
the only reason I went to this particular store is that it had reviews on yelp that mostly seniors go there. No such luck.
The place was filled with families and screaming kids. Arghh!:'(

Sorry you had to go through that ive been there myself so know how frightening that can be, makes you just want to run out of the store. I dont know about others but i have noticed that sometimes certain stores like walmart or best buy with their lighting sets off my attacks sometimes, does that happen with anyone else? Strange..but walmart is one of the worst to do that to me.. i have on many occasions left everything and took off out of store sometimes cant deal with it during them when they come on bad makes me feel like im going to pass out so i just leave in middle of shopping.
Thanks for sharing the info glamourmilf, i appreciate it. Hope you feel better.

The lighting! Yes! OMG yes! I read about that being a trigger to anxiety. I've tried wearing sunglasses, a visor/hat, but nothing helps.
The music playing throughout the store can set me off too.
I had to go to Best Buy last week, (I avoid that store like the plague). It was the only store that had what I needed. Don't know if it was me, but the security guard at the door seemed rude when I asked for help.
The sales dude seemed uninterested and condescending. Or were they? Was it just me and my anxiety?
Anyway. I'm going food shopping today, and I'm bringing my headphones and music, and this technique I mentioned. Fingers croseed.

Yea i heard its the florescent lights they use that makes it trigger, and i tried the sunglasses too which people have suggested in some research i done but that didnt help me. One thing i did notice that helps during is if i drink some orange juice, maybe its the blood sugar dropping? I dont know but i get really tired before one comes on and if i can catch it, drinking orange juice right before it goes full blown or even after seems to help. If you havent tried it see how it works maybe its in my head that it does but i could almost swear to it since it works every time. Best buy is horrible with the lighting so i avoid that store as much as possible. And i bet it was a little of both with you at the store, some employees are probably sick of all the chaos and its so hectic and stressful during this time so maybe it was them having a bad day and that all combined. When there is alot of people i feel claustrophobic and it intensifies the anxiety. Hope you do ok in the store later, hoping for the best and you dont have another. Sometimes i get multiples in a day and thats exhausting, hope today isnt like that for you and you enjoy being out the rest of the day. Let me know if that technique you mentioned helps at all next time you have to use it, hopefully not for awhile.

Re: The 'Sick Girls' Camming Club
Also wanted to mention if you havent heard already when i went into dr one time he told me that he wanted to test my thyroid because he said that if you have problems with your thyroid it mimicks panic attack symptoms i never knew that or would even think of that but mine was fine as well as my sugar levels. Its strange but just wanted to throw that out there incase anyone needed the info, im just repeating what he said to me. Surprised me.

That is true. All of the doctors I`ve seen before thought I had thyroid issues(maybe because I am also overweight) but that was not the case. But yeah ,thyroid can give the same symptoms as anxiety/panic.

Orange juice..hmm. interesting. I can't tolerate oj, otherwise i would try it.
L-thianine works, but i didn't take it yesterday before going to that dollar store. ( because as mentioned, Yelp said mostly seniors go there, which was wrong). Or maybe there were families because of Christmas and it being a Sunday.

Thanks for all your support ladies. Sorry for the late reply, I was down and out and not even able to use the computer.
I've tried all of the recommendations listed both in the past and currently with no success. The Epley Maneuveur is for something called BPPV which was ruled out. I still do the maneuver from time to time anyway and recommend it as a first course of action should anyone experience vertigo (especially vertigo triggered by rolling over in bed etc) as BPPV can sneak in after an infection, but no such luck.
I've got an appointment with my GP and another with my ENT and she is going to give me a referral to a Neurologist because there is a chance that what I have could be actually Migraines or early onset MS symptoms. I'm taking Magnesium in the meantime which can be helpful - at least to calm my system down.
I think I am gonna get on Niteflirt and try the phone sex route while I am down and out like this since camming and all the related positions just make me spin so hard. One day at a time... all I can do right now.
Sending hugs, healing and support to all! I am so happy to have an understanding place like this to come to. Makes me feel less alone and scared.
ps. I agree, flouresent lights are the WORST invention ever. Pure evil!

Can you at least get prescriptions for things to temporarily stop the dizziness? I was hospitalized in September for severe vertigo(which was caused by birth control of all things) and they gave me stuff to stop the attacks, Zofran for the nausea and Meclizine to stop the spinning. And Valium to stop the panic. They would have me back to normal within 2 hours.
