I'm still not sure whether the bank will let me use payment buttons on other domains, the bank won't answer until my account is approved and that won't happen for a few more days as I had to jump through some hoops due to a Canadian merchant processing change. as soon as I know I'll post the answer though
regarding client confirmation of bookings, on the client end of things there are two simultaneous confirmations of payment: the customized 'confirmed payment page' they reach after submitting a successful payment, and an email with the details of their payment.
that system is used whether one is in the directory or uses an unbranded page for her own clients. that's because cc processing rules state that I have to send emails as well as provide a confirmation page, the only difference between the directory and unbranded pages is the page design.
in terms of the new gateway, I spent days wrestling a code I figured I could complete in 20 mins. As a result I'm a bit behind, but I will have the new gateway up and running by this time next week.
thanks everyone for your patience, if anyone has any questions post away
peace and $$$$$$ :goodvibes

Re: My Site For Independent Camgirls
Thanks for your reply. I actually got into camming since im an underemployed web designer so i look forward to building a site. I only stick to front end work though so with all the back end integrations involved with ecommerce ive been researching every detail of the back end of the aspect of what having a site that can properly take payments is like. All the same, Thank You, and youll be hearing more from me in the coming month b/c I will have my site published by months end and using your payment processor! Your PP structure IMO pays and seems the best for someone starting out and I started researching in start of February! U go girl <3
P.S. I saw that quinn69.com pages for buying skype sex utilize a different looking payment page and feature the Zombaio logo in footer tho it says JS Networks like LCMS. Just wondering, is your own website a different PP or same?

I'm honored that you're thinking of choosing LCMS for your processing and thanks for the kind words. If you have any questions about anything along the way feel free

I use a different payment page on Q69 because I wanted it to be branded to that domain, the great thing about payment pages through my merchant account is that the design is completely customizable. I use the same merchant account as I use on LCMS though, while I still have the Zombaio seal on my site I haven't processed through them since the payment delays got systemic last year.
That Zombaio payment issue was actually what inspired me to start LCMS, as that company was/is unique in offering a far lower bar to entry than IPSPs that charge 1000k per year for Visa/MC and cost 15%. Particularly for newer chicas those costs can be a bit daunting just starting out, at least I felt that way back in the day.
I know a lot of webmasters are still waiting on back payments through Zombaio, but while it took a loooong time I was one of the lucky ones. To date I've been paid everything Z owes me except my reserves. I hope the company survives because for a number of years they were integral to my business and they saved me a LOT of money over other IPSPs over the years, but while I'm grateful for that I doubt I'll ever use them again on my personal site in the future.
The main reason why (and this is something I only discovered recently) is that with an independent merchant account I can challenge cb's -and win. Because IPSPs like Zombaio, Verotel, CCBill et al pool risk amongst a large group of merchants, cb's are granted automatically and there's no mechanism in place for challenging them. Indy is very low risk so that's not a huge issue, but the ability to dispute friendly fraud is a nice option to have on the rare occasion that a thief slips through the processing scrub.
It's probably time for me to remove the Zombaio seal. I actually feel a little guilty doing so because I realize that merchants who walk away make it that much harder for the company to recover, but doing what's best for me it's probably time for me to close my account and move on.
Back to you, a background in web design will def serve you well in this niche. good luck with your new site :)

Loveshooks I feel so silly asking but I still have no idea how to get my profile to show as 'online'. I have checked in the past and could not see myself on the girls online now but even when logged into yahoo x

logging into yahoo*should* show you as online, and the system does work...about 60% of the time. I've had a lot of trouble with the online models feature, thus far I've actually installed three separate systems and each of them has had their flaws. Fixing it once and for all is part of the coding work I've hired out, and assuming it's possible to use a skype-based system without revealing skype ID I'll prob switch over to that. either way the problem will be solved though, it's a huge issue and has been the bane of my existence when it comes to site flaws.
The hired coding work was initially due to have started already, but my coder graciously moved back the start date a week to give me time to deal with the Canadian merchant issue I referenced a few posts back. There's no way I could have concentrated on both at once, and the processing issue was more critical so I needed to deal with that first
by the end of May/beginning of June the work will be done. Until then, what I've been doing is adding some static thumbs to the home page, so that the site doesn't look barren when the online system stops working. I've tried to fill that space with static thumbs of chicas who tend to be online frequently anyways, but anyone is welcome to it. @Susie I've added you to the static thumbs, if anyone else would like to be there and currently isn't just let me know.
I appreciate everyone's patience with everything. There's a lot happening at once and most of it is happening behind the scenes but it is happening. 11 months in the numbers prove that this site is a success, and what I'm trying to do is scale the site to reflect the growth, get rid of the site kinks and support further growth. The clips section is a perfect example, I have a wicked plan for that but first I need a system through which chicas can easily publish without having to learn a brand new system.
I love LCMS but this is definitely a 'growing pains' stage. (in my head I'm anthropomorphizing the wonky online models system flaws as a surly teenager refusing to do the dishes). It will be temporary though.
So yeah, to anyone who wants to be posted in the static thumbs just let me know.
hope everyone is having a wicked day :)

Re: My Site For Independent Camgirls
Has the site been loading slow for anyone else? I am wondering if it is because I am in the UK or what, but it ometimes takes 2+ min for my page to load. I've taken to warning guys when I send them the link.
-
Re: My Site For Independent Camgirls
It is a bit slow, but I don't think it's ever taken longer than 30 sec for my page to load. I asked LH about it a while back and she said it should get faster with the new updates.
-
Re: My Site For Independent Camgirls
So I checked it today (and got one of my guys to check it as well) and holy moses it loaded fast. The little icon on my bookmark has changed, it must have just been a slowdown with the updates.

Re: My Site For Independent Camgirls
Hi, loveshooks--everyone :) I mostly lurk around here on SW every once in a while doing research. I've come across this thread months ago when I was just starting out and bookmarked it. I recently thought about going indy instead as it is more "low risk" (I plan to become a nurse). I have read through the thread but I'm really scatterbrained, I always need some clarification before information really sink in lol. So I have a few questions...
1. About 1099s. I know that here in the US, you have to file a 1099 if you make $600+. You said that since you are in Canada(another island?), it doesn't apply to us US residents. We are responsible for our own 1099. I just want to clarify that this means that I still need to file my 1099, just that you don't provide it/mail it to us, that we have to file for it ourselves?
2. This may be a silly question... :shy: Is there any option on LCMS to geo-block?
3. I understand that you do your own marketing to drive traffic to the site. I'm not really planning on marketing and promoting myself outside LCMS. I'm wondering if traffic from LCMS alone will suffice for an indy camgirl? :)
Thank you and looking forward to joining you guys soon!

thanks for posting, and for your interest in the site. you raised a few questions so I'll go through each one by one
1) 1099s.
Starting this year I will be issuing 1099s. Due to a change in Canadian banking rules to disallow adult in their banking system (puritans for the win) I had to scramble to incorporate in order to maintain credit card processing. I'm still really pissed that I had to do this () but I had to move the business out of Canada so I had no choice. Moving my business to the Caribbean where I reside wasn't an option (Visa won't accept Caribbean-based merchants) so the US it was.
2) I do geo-block nations that can't use site processing but individual geo-blocking is not possible. The reason why is that listee thumbnail pictures appear on the home page and in different category pages on the site, so blocking a region for one listee would impact everyone else who lists in those categories. I do offer no-index unbranded pages (meaning the pages and content will not appear in search engines), but those pages aren't attached to the rest of the site, those pages are for listees who have their own traffic streams that they wish to keep to themselves. If you have any questions about this option let me know.
No questions are silly btw, particularly an important question like this one that can have consequences for chicas who are striving to stay under the radar
3) LCMS does have traffic. We just celebrated our one year anniversary and at this point volumes are rising by 10k per month. That said, most of the most successful listees in terms of revenue do participate in self-promo. As part of the function of the site I provide resources relating to the most effective self-promo techniques (right now I'm in the process of writing some step by step guides for some of the most successful techniques), but if you're trying to avoid that completely that isn't of much use to you. Some listees who don't perform any self-promo do well, as they've caught the interest of some of the site whales, but I can't offer any guarantees that you'll achieve a regular specific earnings goal. So many factors are involved (time online, services offered, etc) that it's impossible to predict earnings for any given listee.
4) Indy being low risk
Indy is lower risk than 'big box' camming but there is still risk involved. I've tried to minimize that risk in the design of the site, particularly in regards to payment methods that conceal the adult nature of the work and the absence of affiliates/aff promo tools helps, but if a history in adult would be devastating to your future career if discovered I would suggest that you avoid adult work entirely. The risks are low but they do exist, so it's vital that you factor that in to your cost/benefit analysis of whether adult is right for you. I hope you don't feel like I'm trying to discourage you, I just don't want to offer promises that I'm not able to back up.
Thanks for your interest, and for providing me an opportunity to answer some questions that no doubt other sw'ers who might be interested in indy work are wondering as well.
If you have any other questions or would like any clarification regarding any of the above feel free
To everyone who's joined LCMS, thank you for working with me to make this site into what it's becoming. The back end work is behind schedule but we're on track to be finished before the end of the month. The secondary cc processor is waiting on my new bank to send me some required info but that will be in place within a couple of weeks. After that will be the alternative processing options and finally the phone sex component. They're all behind schedule but each are on the way. I would kill for 48 hour days.
Brief tangent: on the one year anniversary I went down to the beach by myself to think about the site and take stock of the past year running it. The first thing that popped into my head was recalling that when I started LCMS I kept receiving well-meaning warnings from other webmasters I know that cam chicas are 'so difficult to work with'. I still get em from time to time and I just smh and delete.
One year in that hasn't been my experience in the slightest, and I consider myself really fortunate to work with so many chicas who turn that bullshit stereotype on its head every single day. While this is the hardest I've ever worked, due to y'all running LCMS is also the most fun I've ever had and I thank each one of you for being a part of it.
Hope everyone's having a wicked day :goodvibes

Re: My Site For Independent Camgirls
I don't do self promo so it took me while before the site regulars found me... Some weeks ar good especially at 85%others it's not so much but I'm hoping I get better with my marketing skills ...also for geoblock I don't find it necessary...when guys pay you you are able to see there info so no wories to bieng someone u know...you know beforehand if it's your ex or exes friends lol and if they live right down the street from you..it's like having your own site except she does all the hard for for you lol

I feel like I've been forced to participate in system that contradicts my value system) but I had to move the business out of Canada so I had no choice. Moving my business to the Caribbean where I reside wasn't an option (Visa won't accept Caribbean-based merchants) so the US it was.
Wow! Thank you so much for providing such an in-depth explanation! :D I'm sorry that the new banking rules was not to your liking... I guess that every business has its disadvantages. I wish that rule can be revoked so that it is easier for all of us. :( I was wondering if the 1099 you will provide will have any indication that it's an adult business? I know that you also value and understand camgirls' need for privacy, I am just asking to make sure because I don't know if this new banking rule will affect somehow the information that will be put on the 1099? :)
Thank you for not attacking me about the whole risk thing. Like most chicas here, I'm continuously doing my research, I understand all the risk and am well-prepared for the consequences. I'm also considering indy not only because there is lower risk but also to avoid freeloaders who can record my shows at any time (I know this is a possibility for indy as well but the big box site I'm on has the highest rate of models getting recorded). Indy just feels right to me; one-on-one interaction, less chance to be recorded randomly. I've been recorded when literally it's just me sitting and chatting! It's very annoying... and I'm rambling. ;D
Anyway, I would like to congratulate you for the success of LCMS! We don't know how you do all this by yourself. All the hard work is paying off! I hope that you slow down soon and have another walk on the beach. :D I'm going to read the whole thread one more time and then I will sign up. Thank you so much for answering my questions thoroughly! :)

I do get guys from my state...but they're no one i know..because you see there whole billing info ..and there from a completely different part of the state

About the banking rules, I appreciate your empathy. Yes they're ridiculous but I'll live. Due to that so will the site :) In recognition of the ridiculousness, some of my corporate charter rules are that:
at least one cat must be present in the room
each corporate meeting must begin with a Chomsky or hooks quote
a track from a corp-approved playlist must be playing in the background
I'm not taking this lightly at all so I hope the above isn't construed in that regard, I was needed to have some fun with it to assuage the ire.
In terms of 1099 info, one of the first things I did before deciding to incorporate was check out the 1099 form, as up until now I've been completely unfamiliar with it. A template of the form is located here:
the payee info is self-explanatory, and for payer info it will read as follows:
Company name (not in any way tied to adult if you google/bing it)
(anonymous business address in a different state than incorporation)
EIN number that can't in any way be traced to adult
Listee privacy is a huge concern to me, while as I wrote earlier I can provide no guarantees I've done what I can to make things as low risk as possible.

Thanks for the kind words. Like Layla wrote, on LCMS any time you receive a payment all the details are provided. Any time you'd like to decline a booking just shoot me an email and I'll take care of it, a refund takes seconds so it's not a big deal.
I look forward to hearing from you, if you have any questions post away

Re: My Site For Independent Camgirls
Congratulations on the one year anniversary :D I remember a couple of years ago when there were a few ideas kicking around for cam sites run by camgirls, and remember thinking "it'll never happen". Having seen so many New sites like that pop up then disappear again I was not optimistic lol. Lcms has proved to be the exception. And what a great job you've made of the site. It just goes from strength to strength. Thanks for all your hard work on our behalf. And I second the next beach walk idea!! X

This is very good to hear! This way, I will have nothing to do with anyone from a region I don't want to accept. Awesome! Thanks, loveshooks. :D

Re: My Site For Independent Camgirls
As some ladies may have noticed, I've been researching a lot of the cam sites. Reading threads and asking questions. I've cammed before, but I haven't been entirely confident with going back. However, I think this site may be my match! I can put my existing content up (Yay! another content site). Because I would schedule shows, I could work around my, limited, filming hours. Hopefully this can be a way to have a gradual start and work my way back into full time! :)

I really appreciate your enthusiasm. I did actual cartwheels when this went live (three coders and months after it was originally due; the first was great but couldn't complete, the second kept pressing me to turn LCMS into a cookie-cutter sm/lj clone, fuck that ish). The new system is working really well, and the earnings admin is about two weeks down the road. With this coder I can actually state with confidence that it will be completed soon, I'm amazed (and really fucking thankful) for both the speed and quality of his work.
I also introduced the sign up for the new phone system, I'm going to be sending out some more detailed info about that before I add it to the site menu, as well as some updates on video stuff in the next day or two, and I'll also post it here as well.
but yeah, vaya con dios yahoo: this system actually works, 100% of the time. fucking finally :)
anyone has any question post away, hope everyone is having a wicked night :goodvibes

Re: My Site For Independent Camgirls
^^^thanks so much for posting here. I went through my spam box tonight and I did see one application email there but it wasn't yours. I did a second search just before hitting 'submit reply' on that and nada.
I'm not sure what the issue is, as I'm receiving email normally (aside from the occasional spam box issue, there's been the usual deluge in my inbox). If you wouldn't mind could you forward it to [email protected]?
To anyone reading btw, if for some reason you have trouble contacting me using any method you can use sw (I check here every day), [email protected], [email protected], [email protected] or yahoo (quinn69_on_cam). If you're a current listee and you'd like my skype let me know and I'll send it to you privately, I just prefer not to make that public (I prefer to keep it for paying clients, not random 'bb' types).
For expected contact timelines:
1) current listees with questions or profile edits: always within 24 hours
2) applicants who send only portions of the app info (either public or private): usually within 24 hours, on rare occasions within 36. any questions posed in the partial application are always answered within 24 hours though
3) applicants who send both the public and private admin info: 24-48 hours (I build the page before replying with all the site info. since many of the pages are pretty customized it can take some time to create them). as above, any questions posed in the full application are always answered within 24 hours
If you've contacted me for any reason and you haven't heard back within any of the above timelines please either resend or try another email address.
But yeah, scoured my email and I didn't see anything from you.
Really sorry about this Angela, if you're still interested in joining please resend. Apologies for the hassle.
