my questions (name,worries, etc.)
ok so from reading I got the basics of the type of name. I've picked a few so I thought you could help me choose which one is best. I've got Lyra, Rose, Bunny, Boo, and Siren.
I'm also real worried about whether any future employers can find out about my stripping. Should I do tax returns for stripping, how to do taxes etc.
I'm a little worried about the audition. Im not in the best shape and don't have a lot of natural rhythm and all the routines I''ve seen on here look rly difficult.

Re: my questions (name,worries, etc.)
Um no. Just no on Lyra (Lycra) , Bunny, and Boo. To quote Jay Leno to Hugh Grant, "What the hell were you thinking?"
Siren and Rose are the only two names that won't get you laughed out the door. I'm sorry but Boo sounds like the nickname for the crackhead that lives down the block.
Pick something sexy and "real" sounding. Look at baby name books if you have to.
If you're not in the best shape get in shape. Join a gym, clean up your diet and bust your ass.
As for the tax question it's a chance you take when you do this job. The bigger chains tend to issue 1099's more than smaller clubs.

Re: my questions (name,worries, etc.)
Welcome around! All of your questions and concerns have already been addressed on here, especially in the threads stickied at the top of the Newbie Board. Read through those, browse Dollar Den (where you'll learn more about taxes which you most certainly should pay), and don't get too stuck on a name since it may already be taken at the club anyway. Good luck!

^This. While they would be cute nicknames, they will provoke the "that's not your real name!" question too many times night (you will get it anyway, don't get me wrong, but having a "real" sounding names helps to avoid getting asked this by everyone you speak to lol). If you want something pin-up style like Bunny, why not Betty or Bridget? I second looking up baby names or popular girl's names for ideas.
Good luck with everything.

Re: my questions (name,worries, etc.)
No on all of those names. They'll just make you look and sound amateurish, which is not what you want. A good online resource is BehindTheName.com, which has just about every first name imaginable. I concur with those who advise you to pick a real sounding name. Even girls with realistic names get questioned, but it'll be a lot less frequent and a lot less insistent.
As far as getting in shape and getting some rhythm, maybe try a zumba or some kind of dance aerobics class. It'll get you trimmed down and also get you in the habit of moving to music. Clean up your diet too, as you'll slim down, feel better and have more energy (advice that I need to listen to myself!!)

Re: my questions (name,worries, etc.)
Agree on going with a natural name, you will get asked the question "is that your real name?" anyway but it's easier to avoid or just say "yep it is sweetheart" with a natural sounding one. Every name I've ever gone by is one I wouldn't be embarrassed to name my children.

Re: my questions (name,worries, etc.)
I picked something that is feminine, slightly foreign sounding (so I can tell people I'm Russian/Swedish/Martian, because American guys love that) and sounds real. Trust me, you want something real sounding because after the fifth time of getting asked "So what's your *real* name??" you will want to jump out a window.
As for the dancing, many clubs you can come in when it's slow and practice on a backstage. Don't obsess too much over pole tricks. For floorwork just move slow, stretch your legs all seductively, and if all else fails start playing with your boobs.

Re: my questions (name,worries, etc.)
I think you should widen your horizon of names. Remember that some customers may even judge you by your stage name. Some will remember you (or forget you) based on your stage name. Do you have any favorite actresses or musicians or tv/movie characters with pretty names that you could choose from? There are plenty, but my guess is that customers will warm up to a girl with a real name rather than a girl named "Siren" or something like that.
As far as taxes (etc) and financial issues go, I agree with other girls that you should read dollar den. Some clubs don't even give you a tax form, some do. Some don't leave a "paper trail," some do. You can also ask your club manager what the deal is. Good luck!

Re: my questions (name,worries, etc.)
Go by something generic and unmemorable. The last thing you want is for a guy to have an immediate "distractor" subject, such as your name (I have dealt with this first-hand EXTENSIVELY. It was a huge annoyance- at least 2/3 of the guys I'd try to talk to would not drop it until I admitted that wasn't my real name, and I was apparently obligated to tell them my real name. and loads of guys still do this even with a real-sounding name, but it was incessant with the fantasy name I started out with.) Come up with a name like katie. Something you won't have to repeat. Nobody is going to spend more or less money on a girl depending on her normal-sounding name, they're going to spend more or less money based on YOU.

Re: my questions (name,worries, etc.)
Pick a name that sounds realistic. When I worked FS I had guys that would ask me sometimes what my real name was, and if I hadn't chosen some absurd name I could get away with telling that I WAS using my real name. I would recommend something super simple that is easy to pronounce, and not hard to forget when sober or drunk.

Re: my questions (name,worries, etc.)
Rebecca, Jessica, Shannon, Emily, Tori, Beth, Natalie. Normal names are the best unless you are foreign. I love just saying that my stage name is my real name. Customer love that. I have also mentioned before, that even over the course of one night, customers like to think that they really know you. I love how they shorten my name to "Em" from Emily. When they do that I know I am taking them straight back to the vip (again). So a normal name that has a cute shortened version.
Elizabeth- liz/lizzy
Jessica to Jess
Becca to Bec
Natalie to Nat
Rachael to rach
Don't introduce yourself as the shortened version. When customer feel a closeness, they will.

Re: my questions (name,worries, etc.)
^Not a sexy name IMO and not an easy one to hear over loud music either. Keep it simple!

Re: my questions (name,worries, etc.)
There's lots of Russian names which are very beautiful and easily used in the club:
Anya
Anastasia
Tatiana
Alexandra
Veronika ( <--- I used this for a long time, works very well)
Valerie
Eva
Victoria
etc etc
-
Re: my questions (name,worries, etc.)
OHHHHH i actually rly like Anya!!! I might use that one!!
-
Re: my questions (name,worries, etc.)
Honestly Anya just reminds me of old ladies.
-
Re: my questions (name,worries, etc.)
I know an Eva and Victoria. I let my BF fuck the Eva. She was hot! :D
-
Re: my questions (name,worries, etc.)
Tanya, Sasha and Nadia are pretty common in the US, but are very Russian and sound good ITC. Eva is the American version of Yeva, which does not work well ITC. People will hear it as Eva and will not sound Russian at all. Valarie is the Americanized version of Valerya, which has the same problems as Yeva.
I wouldn't go with a name that screams Russian if you aren't going to go all the way with it. Especially if you work with EBlok girls. At best, you're just going to look silly. At worst, you'll piss of native Russians and that's a bad idea.

Re: my questions (name,worries, etc.)
maybe nadia or sasha I like those

Re: my questions (name,worries, etc.)
2nd'ing kirakonstantin's cautions abt using very Russian names. I am from Poland & have always used Polish names (Ania was my most recent name Shasta, so don't knock it :p ) but after 20+ yrs in the US I am very Americanised & have run into the problems kira mentioned, from EBlok dancers & customers alike. Namely linguistic, as I can still read/write Russian & Polish a little bit but no longer speak them.
If you are going to create a very obviously ethnic persona, be it Russian/Slavic, French or whatever, do your homework & do it right or don't do it at all.

Re: my questions (name,worries, etc.)
I'm from Russia and it looks stupid to me when people run around trying to be Russian because they hwve no idea what it even means. Especially when there's a born and raised Russian working the same room. I just shake my head when I see it, but a lot of EBlok immigrants get really offended. It's like making a joke of who we are and what we lived through.
