renting an apartment for in calls?
Hi ladies,
I am getting the majority of clients requesting in calls, not outcalls and I'm not set up for in calls at the moment as I have flatmates. It's very expensive to rent hotels in London, I mean we're talking 200 pounds for a decent hotel... even if I conduct for 4 bookings, that's like doing a booking for free after I pay for the hotel, it would be like the Hilton was pimping me out or something! Plus it's a bit frustrating because I get a lot of last-minute requests and often the cheaper hotels are gone or the ones that are suitable for escorts are not available...
So I thought the best thing to do would be to see if I can rent an apartment in London for 2 or 3 days a week during the weekdays. I would imagine it would work out to being cheaper than a hotel and there wouldn't be so much pressure... I could just let potential clients know that I'm available on x days and if only one wants to book that day but 5 want to book the other day, it's fine cause the room is available for those days.
The only thing is I don't really know how to advertise this? I mean can I just go on the equivalent of craigslist in the UK and ask to rent an apartment or 2/3 days a week or is that not really fair to the person I'm renting from because of the type of things I plan to do in this apartment? Nor do I want the neighbors talking or, god forbid, them calling the police?

Re: renting an apartment for in calls?
May be worth looking at 'Day Use Hotel Rooms', for discounts, they're usually available 9am-5pm.

Re: renting an apartment for in calls?
^I have but London is just SO expensive. I mean I rented a huge hotel in Birmingham in a nice area.... for $130.... for London? for the cheapest hotel it's still gonna be almost $160 for a DAY room that isn't going to require asking my clients to spend an hour on tube. And all the cheap hotels get booked FAST. I don't mind spending that on a hotel, I mean if I can fit in 4 appointments, then it's basically half of what I charge for one appointment... but it just makes me nervous booking hotels for the day in advance, since it seems like clients want to wait until the last minute to book you, and I don't like the idea of wasting money, it unnerves me...
Like... I have already gotten 17 calls today with people wanting book, and every single person wants an in-call. I could have made so much fucking money today is I had somewhere to take them! The cheapest available hotel is like 95 pounds but it's still asking clients to take a bit of a ride on the tube.... I wish I had my own place!

Re: renting an apartment for in calls?
Well, I totally understand how you get nervous to book a room and they don't show up. It takes money to make money. I confirm with them the hour before to be certain & since priceline does give you that flexibility. I just tell them I will send them the address when they are on their way if they ask too early in advance, so they don't know I didn't book the room yet. If you have 4 calls and one call is used to pay for the room, that's ok. You just made money or 3 worth of calls instead of 0. It's like a house fee as a stripper. Also you don't HAVE to get an upscale 4 star hotel. Just a safe, low-key hotel is fine.

Re: renting an apartment for in calls?
I also use to use my own apt and it pays for itself. I understand you have roommates.. You should consider moving out on your own and then not have to worry about renting a 2nd apt or having a hotel. I screen well so I don't worry about using my own place. To each their own though.

Re: renting an apartment for in calls?
^Yeah, it's just the issue of finding a hotel in London. It's really not easy! I mean, you can't just book any old hotel either, it has not be a hotel with a large reception, many rooms, and doesn't keycard people for the elevators. There are tons of cheap hotels in London but they're not escort friendly. I have a few clients lined up for Thursday, but the two hotels I want to book are totally full. I'm basically stuck either booking an out of the way hotel or spending, literally, $333 on a hotel, which is LOT. That's $30 over my hourly rate.
I ended up just getting a hotel room for tonight, it was like $160 and I'm annoyed because I had two clients lined up and the second one canceled. I still made money but not as much as I was hoping to!
I found another escort who is willing to rent me her flat for 3 days a week for $160 a day, which is not bad, but the problem is I'm just worried it's too far. It's basically the same location as the hotel I booked tonight, and I've gotten two calls in the last hour asking to book but as soon as I said my location they turned me down (it took me 40 minutes to get here on the tube, seriously guys are such fucking pussies sometimes). I'm stuck in a lease so getting a new apartment isn't an option at the moment, my lease ends in October so I may consider getting my own place then, as I agree with what you're saying it would pay for itself! But I think what I'm going to do is just keep doing the hotel thing and traveling on the weekends to work, since it's honestly easier to make money that way. Once I have more of a nest egg saved it won't be too hard to find somewhere I can just rent weekly, there are tons of studios/onebedrooms and whatnot you can rent in London.
Plus, the reason I'm escorting quite a bit at the moment is because I'm so totally BURNED OUT from stripping. Once I go back to stripping part-time I won't be escorting quite as much and perhaps it won't be an issue. I just prefer escorting to stripping at the moment, I had a really rough past month and ended up not even making my rent... I made my rent and enough money to live off of for a week in one day of escorting, and I only worked 4 hours. lol. And I guess outcalls are not totally unheard of.. I have one lined up for tomorrow, another one of Wednesday, and possibly one on Thursday morning.

Re: renting an apartment for in calls?
Ok so an update--
I found another escort who's willing to rent me a room in her 2 bedroom flat weekly, super well located. It's the same price as renting my own studio, but I don't have to deal with admin fees, deposit, contract, etc and also its a lot bigger.
Would it be better to go with that option? I like the idea of renting from her more than having my own place but I don't know if having my own place would be better for clients?

Re: renting an apartment for in calls?
^As long as you don't have conflicting schedules/availability (so you don't have clients showing up for both of you around the same time), it seems like it's worth at least trying out for a week or two. I could see it not working well if you're constantly working at the same time.
-
Re: renting an apartment for in calls?
Yeah good point!
I decided I'm gonna rent it from her for next week and see how it goes, if it really is worth-while money wise to have the place for the whole week. I rented a flat today for in calls, and I had 4 people lined up and they ALL canceled on me. The only reason I'm not banging my head on the wall is that I managed to score a $500 booking tomorrow morning and it will pay off the hotel bill and still give me a $250 profit before the weekend begins. The major plus with renting all week is definitely that I won't be putting all of my eggs in one basket hoping that everyone books for a day--- oh, and football ignorant me of course decided the best day to book a hotel room would be on one of the world cup games!

Offer a football fantasy appointment where you blow them while they watch the game ;)
-
Re: renting an apartment for in calls?
^lol! I had one client offer to just "play football in the background" but I turned him down cause I could tell he really just wanted to watch the game and I feel like he serious reg potential so I didn't want to annoy him!
It's weird because they had a world cup game in Birmingham last Saturday and I was swamped with calls even during the evening, I turned away like 10 people that weekend. Not sure what happened today, but it sucks!

Re: renting an apartment for in calls?
Have you thought about making the client pay for the hotel room, instead of you?
You are an American export, a goddess from afar....if they want you, they should have to pay for the room themselves on top of paying you what you charge. If they don't want to pay for the room, then too bad, there are plenty of other men willing to do so for an amazing woman like you!!! If you have to book the hotel room in advance, and be the first one there - pay for the room, but then have the client pay you back for said room.
Just an idea...:)
-
Re: renting an apartment for in calls?
Scarlet Kitten's suggestion makes sense esp in light of how many clients seem to be cancelling on you. Either have them get the room themselves, as a kind of guarantee that they will actually show, or work the room price or a portion of the room price into your overall charge.

Re: renting an apartment for in calls?
Check on Airbnb.com it is actually really awesome and cheap!!
-
Re: renting an apartment for in calls?
^Not really an option for last-minute bookings since you've got to wait on confirmation of availability from the owner of the property, but worth considering if you have time to book in advance and have the entire property to yourself for the booking.

Re: renting an apartment for in calls?
I used airbnb when I went to Scotland to dance and had such a horrible experience! The woman I stayed with was a CUNT. Like she was really fucking nosy and would knock on my room all the time, kept me asking me all these specific questions about where my family lives in Scotland, what I was doing every night... and then the lights just went out entirely in the flat on the 2nd day, and she gave me this little lamp that didn't give me enough light to get ready in my room... I was like are you fucking serious? She wouldn't give me another one! Then when I left she complained to me that I hadn't vacuumed the room before I left and I said that since she was charging me a $40 cleaning fee for a ROOM I assumed she was going to do that herself. Then she sent me another e-mail saying she was going to report me to airbnb because I had burned a hole in her sheet and mattress cover. I have NO idea how I would have done that, since my curing iron was nowhere near the bed because the lamp didn't extend that far, but I just paid her the $70 for new sheets and whatnot to get rid of her. I will never use that website again.
The problem is, my rates are already a lot higher than what most girls charge here. London is so saturated with escorts and there are thousands of girls offering to do anal, CIM, and pretty anything but BB (and sometimes even that) for half of what I charge. A lot of these girls are Eastern Europeans, the British girls tend to charge closer to what I do, though still $50-70 lower. I charge $350 an hour which I think is about average in the US, but for some reason escorts are just a lot cheaper in the UK. So I already get a ton of people asking me, why are your rates so high when you don't even offer anything special like anal? I just say I offer a more intimate experience with kissing, etc, and that usually works with the GFE guys who love me.
The other problem is, those girls have hundreds of reviews and they already have an incall location for the client and aren't asking for a hotel fee on top. The only reason I can get away with my rates is the fact that I'm an American... I stand out advertising-wise because I'm one of very few (I actually haven't seen any other American escorts on my site but I'm assuming there's others) Americans and I just market the fuck out of the "California blonde" image and it's half the reason guys book me. I mean I got a $500 booking this morning JUST because he said he always sees California girls on TV and wondered what it would be like to sleep with one of them. But if then start asking for a hotel fee, it's just gonna be too much. I don't mind getting less traffic than the other ladies do because I could never sleep with someone for $160/200, it's not worth it to me and it would make me feel like shit to give myself to someone for that cheap-- but I still have to stay somewhat competitive as obviously it isn't worth it if I'm only getting one or two bookings a week.
Clients will always cancel, no matter what you do, unfortunately, that is the first thing I've learned! But the plus side of renting a room for the week instead of a hotel for a couple days is if Monday turns out to be the absolute worst day and everyone flakes or no one calls, that's fine because Tues, Wed, Thurs, Fri, Sat, Sun might be great.... the problem with the hotel is you're putting all your eggs in one basket, hoping that everyone is going to want to book that day, when it never is that way. Sometimes I literally have to turn of my phone at 11pm otherwise I will KILL the motherfuckers calling until 4:40 waking me up, and other times I'm calling my service provider to make sure my phone doesn't need to be topped up cause it hasn't rung all day!

Re: renting an apartment for in calls?
^That does sound like an awful airbnb experience! I totally get why you wouldn't want to revisit, but it sounds like you just booked a private room, which is totally different from book the whole apartment/flat/house. In the latter, you are given the key and the person leaves for the duration of your visit, so you don't have to deal with them asking you questions or otherwise being around. It might be worth giving it another shot if you can find a reasonably priced property, not just a room!

Re: renting an apartment for in calls?
So I want to cry right now... in fact I might cry right now....
I wake up this morning and realized I forgot to change my location to Birmingham, which is where I rented a hotel for the weekend. I have an outcall request for someone in London but I know if I go to that I won't be in Birmingham until late. I change my location and give it to hours to see if it looks like it's going to be busy and I'll get calls, even though I changed my location late. Within the hour I already have two bookings so I go to the first outcall as planned and say sorry to the next one.
I get to Birmingham, get into my room, get everything ready. First client comes. Says he only has 100 pounds and can't find the cash point, is that OK? I say no, sorry, that's half my rate and I can't take payment later. He says well I can't find the cash point and I say well why on Earth didn't you take care of this sooner? He said sorry, give me ten and I'll be back. Never comes back. Never texts me to say he's not coming back.
Second client comes. Asks me how much my rate is... NOT a good sign. I tell him the number and he says that's ridiculous and he won't pay it. I ask why the fuck did he book me, come all the way out, take up my time, and not look at the rate first? He says no one would pay that and it's ridiculous. I say I've had 4 bookings this week and one of them was for twice that and the other for 3 times that! Just because you're too fucking broke to afford me doesn't mean you have to insult me! We get into an argument that ends with him leaving.
So, that's two days of absolute bollocks, the outcall I had this morning will pay for the hotel in Birmingham and it will pay for the hotel I rented last night. I have one outcall for Sunday and I'm pretty confident this guy won't fuck me over as he lives in a pretty expensive area. I've honestly NEVER had this issue with people showing up and bargaining with me, if they don't like my rate they don't contact me or they tell me before they waste their time and mine by coming out. Why on Earth would you book an escort without looking at their prices, especially when they are LESS than an inch away from my phone number on the screen?
I still have tomorrow but I'm not feeling very confident after today, to be honest! I have a guy that I saw last weekend who wanted to book a 2-3 hour appointment with me, but he called me today and said he has to go out of town for work tomorrow and he's going to try get back on time but isn't sure. I really hope he does because he was wonderful I had so much fun with him and he ended up tipping me half my rate because he enjoyed his time with me so much. Besides him I have one other incall for tomorrow, don't know why things are so slow right now!
Sorry ladies I just really needed to vent, going to go for a walk and try and get into a better head space because this really wasn't what I needed after yesterday.

Re: renting an apartment for in calls?
audrey, i have to say those clients are right, your rates are highway robbery. i don't think it matters if you market yourself as a 'california blonde' and charge 350/hr, unless by california blonde, you mean you look like marilyn monroe in her prime. offering kissing doesn't matter either since many other escorts offer the same thing and charge about a hundred dollars less. a guy getting to stick his tongue in your mouth isn't worth having to fork over about a hundred bucks extra. you really should think about charging less. i think if a guy sees a number like 300, that can be a turnoff and send him looking elsewhere. go below that number.
-
Re: renting an apartment for in calls?
I know tons of girls who charge $350, I have soken to numerous ladies on this website and other escort boards I frequent who charge MORE than $350. A cheap escort is 100 pounds and a very expensive escort is 400 pounds so I am somewhere in the middle. There are tons of ladies who charge 250 pounds in London they just tend to be older and more experienced, so you can kindly fuck off. If I'm gonna charge $500 for someone to sit with me in a strip club and not get sex, then I am definitely going to charge them at least $350 for sex! It's up to me what I charge, what I deem myself worth and what makes me comfortable and this job worth it for me. I would rather go home with nothing than know so asshole pushed me to go to a number that was below my comfort zone.
Anyway, I spoke to my client (who booked a 3 hour session with me tomorrow, uhm by the way that's $800 spike-spiegel so suck it) and he said that my rates are a little high by London standards but they are VERY high by Birmingham standards, the girls just don't have to charge as much here because the cost of living is so much lower. I have him booked for 2 hours and two more 1 hour in calls came through this evening so things are looking up, thank god.

Re: renting an apartment for in calls?
telling me to fuck off? fine, have it your way. i will now give you some scathing reviews and i will be sure to be extra venomous with my words.

Re: renting an apartment for in calls?
^lol, you go ahead. You don't even know my escort name!

Re: renting an apartment for in calls?
It sounds rough to live in England! I'm glad things are looking up though. I hope they stay that way! Read the Law of Attraction threads, keep up positive energy.
spike_spiegel, we don't need your petty threats on this board. Go troll elsewhere. Unless you're looking to get banned.

Just because YOU can't afford something doesn't meant it's "robbery." If someone isn't within your price range, move on. And then to threaten someone with false reviews? Super classy, sir...

Re: renting an apartment for in calls?
how dare you not offer your services in my price range! im entitled to you services, and its robbing me of my right when you actually want to be compensated for what you feel your services are worth! you wouldn't want to scare away all the cheapskates now would you?
