At what age do you think you will retire from camming?
I know I am not going to look young forever, and when I get older, I won't feel like I am attractive enough to cam.
I'm 22 and people still think I look 12-13. My mom is in her 40's and everybody thinks she is my sister. I was blessed with awesome genes, but I know it is not always going to last.
I guess when I start becoming unhappy with the way I look is the day I will retire from camming. :P
How old do you think you will be when you retire from it?

Re: At what age do you think you will retire from camming?
Uhm when I want. Milf's are a niche but I feel like every year I get bored and switch to something else. Phone sex for example and clips and then I got pregnant had a kid. My 10 hour available time to work turned into two at the most.
I'm back and loving it but when times are tough like last week I think about how I need to put more effort into clips at which point I'll hopefully be able to retire while watching that come in!

Re: At what age do you think you will retire from camming?
It's a money + life goals thing for me. So whenever I reach those goals I will retire. Hopefully within the next 2 years. I'll only be 22/23 then.

Re: At what age do you think you will retire from camming?
I think for me, I'll retire when I find love. Sounds like a cliche, but that's honestly how it'll be. Even if my so-called life partner approved of me camming, I don't think I would be able to do so.
I'd only want him to be able to treasure what I have rather than show it off to others. I'm only 22 now, but could see myself quit before the time I reach 25. Love changes a lot of things. Life is funny that way.

Re: At what age do you think you will retire from camming?
I can easily see myself camming and/or making videos for at least a few more years. I actually really enjoy my work for the most part, but the most difficult aspect of it by far is the isolation and feeling like I need to hide a big part of my life from most people. If I had friends, in person who were also doing this, that would make things a LOT easier...just, way less emotionally draining.
If that becomes the case, I can see myself being involved in the industry pretty much indefinitely, even if it wasn't full time at some point. I'd like to experiment more with owning other businesses and then I'd focus on whatever caught my interest most at the time.

Re: At what age do you think you will retire from camming?
Depends how profits are, if I am still making good money I would have no trouble doing this till 30 (i'm 24). If i'm not making as much money as I need then I would stop.
Edit: I do have plans after, i'm not just gonna retire for good from working at 30.

Re: At what age do you think you will retire from camming?
I'm 47 and will keep going as long as it supports how I want to live, my main priority is being able to work from home and part-time.

Re: At what age do you think you will retire from camming?
Yep granny porn all the way XD. I kinda feel like I married my camming career, it will be till death do us part ;)
When it will be to hard on my body when I am older I will retire offcourse, or if it isnt profitable anymore

Ditto! I might branch out into other things on the side but for as long as camming allows me the flexibility to be a parent and pay my bills, it'll be my priority!

I'm exactly the same. Well, not 12, but I definitely look like I'm 16-17ish. It's a huge advantage for me and I know it's my niche, that's why I'm afraid of the day it will be over.
I'm trying not to think about it too much, to be honest, cause I don't see myself stopping. My main goal is to focus on each individual day, otherwise I freak out.

Re: At what age do you think you will retire from camming?
I'm planning to stop camming at 40. Or before that if I've met all my major financial goals. I will always be involved with adult stuff though. I love how the industry opens up so many avenues that simply aren't possible in any other line of work :D

Re: At what age do you think you will retire from camming?
i am constantly looking for a new "adventure" everyday but haven't found one yet. i know i want to do something self employed and from home but every business venture that i start looking at turns out to be too much work for too little cash, and then camming is like easy(ish) money for little effort, and the fact you don't need to invest in products to sell is a winner. so i plan to retire as soon as I finally found that something that appeals to me more than camming does. as yet, there is NOTHING. Whenever i look at the "normal" job websites I just in fits of laughter at the shit they expect of you: work weekends, work holidays, must have certain degree, must have 2+ years of experience in field... the list goes on. screw that lol.

As long as I possibly can :)

Re: At what age do you think you will retire from camming?
I only started camming a year ago, when I was 29.
I'm (obviously) 30 now and I can't see myself retiring any time soon. I feel really like I've only just started! I might keep going until I'm 40, who knows.

Re: At what age do you think you will retire from camming?
I wish I already WAS!.. I have been saying for YEARS that I am going to throw the biggest celebration EVER when I never have to take my clothes off again.. except to shower of course!..lol ... about the party! I won't be telling them WHY!.. I NEVER EVER want to mention cam for the rest of my life.

Re: At what age do you think you will retire from camming?
When you mean "retire" do you mean just retire from camming? Or completely retire. I've always wondered what the girls who have been doing this for 5+ years plan on doing once they are done with camming. Are you planning on actually retiring? If so how did you prepare (ie. saved enough in the bank to life off of, put in a retirement account, etc.). I know its hard to return to the workforce once this has been your only gig for a while.

Re: At what age do you think you will retire from camming?

I can't work at a real job.. been fired from every real job i ever had.. i don't take orders well...lol... my sons are of college age.. the lil one will be going to college next year so we are all teaming up for real estate and franchising as they work their way through their degrees..... retire from camming.. it's not my passion, never was never will be just a way to survive through life as a single mom.

Until my other 2 ventures make money enough to live on. --- When ever that will be. I'm in no hurry, honestly, because camming is so fun!

Re: At what age do you think you will retire from camming?
I've been camming since January 2003, planning to keep at it for another 10 years or until it's not profitable anymore, or I'm not making anything decent off of it. I'm not giving up my real age in a public forum with my real screenname! haha. I look younger than I am so I think I can work it for 10 years more, when I'll start playing up the cougar thing (no kiddies for me so MILF just doesn't apply).
I'm saving and plan to save more to live humbly off of for life if I need to. It's hard because my husband can't help, he's on disability but the house is paid for and I have another property. Going to invest more in real estate and start a cafe, I already own a property that would be perfect for it. It should keep the savings from diminishing too much. I'll probably need to eat into the equity on the house when I'm old, but I have no problem with that, I don't have any kids to leave anything to.

We (hubby and I) put together a basic game plan on this. Knowing that between an employment gap and the tiny chance of a future outing would probably limit my own things...and kill his political career. So, he's resigned to hiding in academia at some very easy teaching college while we build our camming side business, and slowly shift investment into other things like rental property and turn-key businesses (like fast food franchises and such).
Some of the higher earners here do make way more than our studio business does, and way more than I ever did camming. The basic answer is that life after camming, I feel, should involve a life of the same entrepreneurship. I can't see ever working for a boss again. In this economy, its not just wishful thinking, its almost a requirement. The gap between rich and poor is getting bigger all the time, and its becoming a black and white dichotomy between being an "owner" and being a "wage slave". All cammodels are in the unique position of having that choice - the very fact that we cam says we aren't too risk adverse to be good entrepreneurs in other fields.
This is one of the key reasons why we try to cut out Payoneer and other "off the grid" payment systems from our own studio program. Having a legit bank account and good financial history is a key stepping stone for anyone that wants to move up and out in the future - at least in the US.

Re: At what age do you think you will retire from camming?
I wonder how many cam girls ACTUALLY "retire" after camming. Like, they worked their ass off and saved and made a nice nest egg to actually "retire" and never have to work again...? Probably a small fraction ACTUALLY "retire" after camming. And to think you are going to ACTUALLY retire in your 20s, 30s, 40s, even 50s... is pretty rare. You would have to have made some seriously awesome financial decisions to retire in those ages and never have to work again!
So retire FROM camming... I don't have an age in mind. For me it's also a goal thing. Soon I won't be the only income in our house hold so once that happens, 99% of my camming money will go straight to savings/investing/etc. so that I actually can have some form of never having to work outside the home again.
Having good genes really helps... I'm 29 now but most think I'm 19-20. And I've been doing this since I was 19! So I imagine I'll be at it another 10 years unless I get lucky... ;)

Re: At what age do you think you will retire from camming?
I'm basically planning on staying self-employed, probably for the rest of my life. I'm young so that could change, but I feel that working towards employment elsewhere just isn't practical unless it's under special circumstances. Part of the reason I started camming is because I knew I wanted to do sex work and was feeling dissatisfied with the "traditional" college routes despite researching all my options extensively. I've come this far with self employment, so why stop now?
The thing is, most employed vanilla jobs I'd be interested in either don't pay well enough to justify the cost and time investment of schooling, and/or they're mostly employed by government entities, or they're very heavily male dominated. So, being broke, being rejected/outed because of my sex work past, or being harassed or worse by male (or female) coworkers just isn't that appealing. If I do want to enter those fields, I plan on doing so in an independent way.
I made the choice to start camming and now I'm following through with its consequences, which I foresaw when I started. That's not as bleak as it sounds, though. There are more then plenty of "vanilla" options available to me, I just need to be ready to approach them in a creative way, and I'm okay with that challenge and prefer the risks/benefits that I've given myself.
I don't expect most people, including liberal or even a lot of "sex positive" people to understand the choices I've made...which is fine, as long as I find more friends with a similar mindset.

Re: At what age do you think you will retire from camming?
I'm using the extra time I receive from camming to work on compiling research and writing, which is my passion. Social work is also a passion of mine but after a government hiring freeze in my province that SEVERELY limits available work (you can only get hired through private agencies an NFP's now) I am kind of over it for now. Plus, I love being self-employed!
So basically, whenever I feel like I can make a departure into freelance writing. My skills have drastically improved over the last year according to my correspondents, and I'm feeling ever more confident that it's an available opportunity.
