Don't accept Gyft as payment
I was not aware they can cancel cards on there. Was gifted $50 there and he charged back because he thought we were doing a skype cam session that night. We had scheduled for the next night and he let me have it as payment. Just a forewarning, don't take it! Gyft.com. I do have to ask the safest option for payment. I'm scared of Amazon GC because it gives out my city. Anything else?
Re: Don't accept Gyft as payment
Wait, Amazon GCs give out your city? How does that work? I thought that was just wishlists.
The only way to keep both your money and your personal info 100% safe is to go through an indy payment processor that covers chargebacks (but they also take a cut.)
Re: Don't accept Gyft as payment
Oh yes it gives name and city/state. :(
Re: Don't accept Gyft as payment
How though? You don't even need to have a real name or shipping address attached to an account to redeem an Amazon giftcard.
EDIT: Sorry if this comes off as confrontational or anything like that, it's not meant that way, I've just never heard anything like this about the giftcards and am trying to figure out how it would work.
Re: Don't accept Gyft as payment
No that is incorrect. They only see your city and state with with an amazon WISHLIST. So if you were to put giftcards on your amazon wishlist they could see your city and state. You want to use the "email giftcard" option. They only need your email address. So when they ask how to pay you link them to here: http://amzn.to/VBzsax (not an affiliate link I just used my bit.ly because the regular URL is too long and obnoxious) you give them your email and they send it to you. I have an email soely dedicated to receiving amazon giftcards and payments for items and then I just use the code on my regular amazon account. Doing this gives them absolutely no way to find your city/state.
