Homeless newbie. Escorting vs stripping?
Hi guys, I was wondering if I could get some advice for my situation.
I'm 18 and soon to be homeless. I have no family members to live with. I don't have a ged but I applied online for jobs and for some on craigslist. I got no replies back though. I'm considering either stripping or escorting now. I heard some things about stripping and escorting agencies but do you guys know if they provide housing for newbies? I heard about thebestdancers agency and Indy girls agency. I have no money though :(
do you pay the agencies upfront or do you pay them after you receive your money from customers?
Would I earn more from escorting or stripping? Can you list the pros and cons?

Re: Homeless newbie. Escorting vs stripping?
Sorry to hear about your situation. Sounds stressful and let me just say I know the feeling of needing money and wanting to do whatever it takes (legally) to get it.
However you are very young and this industry will swallow you whole if your not mentally prepared.
I would recommend going into waitressing or bartending at a strip club first to get a feel for the industry first while making some cash then when you're ready try out stripping or webcamming.

Re: Homeless newbie. Escorting vs stripping?
If you're going to do one or the other, go for stripping. You'll make cash immediately with minimal upfront costs, and I know many girls who would work every night and use part of the instant money to put themselves up in a motel until they saved enough for a real place. It's certainly not the most stress-free way to live, but it's an option in a tight situation. An escort agency will not provide housing for you, and you'll also need to have your own sexy clothes, lingerie, heels, and whatnot before you start. One decent stripper outfit will probably cost less than trying to outfit yourself for escorting. Plus, you generally don't walk into an escort agency and have them put you on rotation and start seeing clients that day, whereas a lot of strip clubs will let you start the very same day you audition.
Ultimately, depending on the area and the agency, escorting would probably net you more money overall, but stripping is easier to break into and start earning money NOW which is what it sounds like you need.

Re: Homeless newbie. Escorting vs stripping?
Dancer agencies will often secure accommodations when you're traveling to dance, but there are way too many upfront costs for you to even consider that as an option IMHO. The days of clubs providing accommodations for dancers are very much dead, with only a handful of clubs doing that -- they're always in areas where they simply can't get enough local girls to dance, so it's the only way they can keep the club open.
Get yourself to a hostel, shelter, or cheap motel and start dancing. You will have cash in hand after each dance/stage/VIP, and that's what you need right now. Then you can secure yourself some more stable accommodations. THEN you can start thinking about if escorting is right for you. It's really not something you want to start when you're desperate because it's so easy to get stuck, lose sight of our boundaries, or end up in trouble. Dancing will give you fast cash and time to make that decision with a clearer head.
Good luck!

Re: Homeless newbie. Escorting vs stripping?
I would strip. I personally could never escort as a personal preference, but I also don't think it's the right entry job into the adult work field. I feel if that was your first step, especially out of desperation, you could really mentally hurt yourself.
Now, when you say you have no money, do you mean actual ZERO dollars? If you have $100, you can easily get started stripping. What are of the country are you in? I have worked many places and can steer you in the direction of some great clubs if need be. After one night, you could surely get a hostel and go from there.

Re: Homeless newbie. Escorting vs stripping?
STrip if you can. A house mom will let you borrow an outfit & you can pay her for it out of that nights earnings.
More than likely one of the girls there will let you crash on their couch for a fee.
You will have to hustle hard, but can make $100 or more a night which then you can get a hotel room or find a weekly place to rent off of craigs list.
Escorting is to dangerous for a new girl. Pimps will beat you & take all the money. You don't need to get mixed up in that biz. Predators love new girls to rape & rip off, not to mention getting busted. Jail, a record, court fees & fines are NOT what you need at this time.
At a club you can work double shifts only going back to a hotel room to sleep. You need to be willing to do double shifts & work 7 days a week until you get on your feet a bit. Don't leave the money in a hotel room, Don't drink at work, don't brag about the money you make. Hide the money & be aware of your surroundings at all times.
Don't move in with a guy, even though you are desparate. Guys can smell that & will take advantage when you think they are trying to help or rescue you.
Good Luck,
Sam

Re: Homeless newbie. Escorting vs stripping?
I vote for stripping or waitressing as well. However, if you would like help with your resume for non-industry jobs, I'd be happy to look over it and rework it for you. Good luck!

Re: Homeless newbie. Escorting vs stripping?
Indy Girls is now defunct as well as the spinoff/combination GFE Angels. Huge bust, girls ran, and the owner is now working on BP after begging a few hobby boards for legal fees. That area they work/ed in is always hot, as you newb you'd be popped in half a day.
Dance/modelmayhem/ gogo you're too young and fragile. I was in same position at 18, luckily it all worked out and nothing bad happened but still.

Re: Homeless newbie. Escorting vs stripping?
I would definatly pick stripping over escorting. Just for the safety factor and your young age. My advice to you would be to waitress and try to stabilize. Then when you get enough money find a cheap place to rent off of craigslist and start camming.

Re: Homeless newbie. Escorting vs stripping?
Sorry to hear about your situation. I don't know if this is something you would consider, but in parts of Nevada, there are places where you could legally work as a prostitute, and they would also provide you with room and board. If you want to do something outside the adult-entertainment industry, would you consider the military? The best service is probably the Air Force. I hope everything works out for you.

Re: Homeless newbie. Escorting vs stripping?
Stripping. You can use any pair of heels you have and a bra/panty set or any lingerie you have for your first night. You will make money that night and then you can rent out a motel for the night. Go in every night till you have enough money to get on your feet. DO NOT, under any circumstances, escort..bad idea.

Re: Homeless newbie. Escorting vs stripping?
Escorting is NOT an option for you at this time, sorry.
Stripping is the better of the two, but I really wouldn't suggest it. I can't count how many newbies I've seen chewed up and spit out in the years I've been doing this, whether it's just not being able to hack it or getting swept up by "white knights" (pimps) or developing drug/alcohol addictions to cope or finding themselves with an anchor boyfriend. It's not a job you should take lightly if you're in an already fragile emotional state.
The best suggestion I've seen so far is to try waitressing in a strip club. It'll give you a chance to see how things work in the club, so you can decide whether it's something you'll really be able to do, while putting money in your pocket.

Re: Homeless newbie. Escorting vs stripping?
Stripping. Treat it like the business that it is. Set a nightly goal. Grab a bed in a hostel ( where you can pay night by night ). Work hard and don't party. After 7 nights, book weekly place to live. Tighten your hustle in 2-4 weeks and you'll probably have enough for a month of rent somewhere.

Re: Homeless newbie. Escorting vs stripping?
As everyone has said I would go with stripping. You'll get money faster and you can begin working faster. Escorting takes a while to build up clientele, plus you need a place to work out of, unless you want to do outcalls-- and having never worked in this industry, you have no idea how to screen or pick up on bad signals, so I REALLY would not suggest doing an outcall.
I was in your position when I started stripping, basically about to become homeless. I made a couple hundred bucks my first few shifts and that paid for my food and a cheap motel, after a week or working a lot I was able to sublet an apartment for cheap for a month and then I found another stripper that was willing to let me a rent a room in her house and then I saved up enough to get my own place. Just be careful and save everything you make, you only need one outfit and a pair of shoes, live frugally.

Re: Homeless newbie. Escorting vs stripping?
why soon to be homeless? if theres any violence or fear of violence there are women only shelters specifically for that, if not, there are still general shelters. i would not recommend starting stripping and living out of a motel at the same time. its too dangerous and too likely someone will try to take advantage of you. can you look on craigslist for nanny jobs?
you really should post more about your location so you can get better info. personally, i think the safest idea is to take a greyhound to vegas and start working here. its a 24 hr town and the strip is very safe and its very easy to get a cheap safe apartment here once youve saved up enough-shouldnt need more than 1000 for 1st months rent, security deposit, energy deposit and internet deposit. girls here are always offering their couches and spare bedrooms to other girls they trust who have fallen on hard times or are simply passing through. wprst case scenario is that you cant initially find a friend or afford a hotel and in that case you can take naps at the club or in one of the hallways or casinos or whatever on the strip. i see people sleeping at the slots all the time. its not ideal but is better than the streets of any city ive ever been to..

Re: Homeless newbie. Escorting vs stripping?
also the brothels in nevada provide housing. but this is something you need to seriously think about before you do it.

LV? As a newbie? No, this is bad advice. I went there after dancing for 4 years and still felt overwhelmed at first, and I am very gregarious person. Also in LV there's the startup costs of business license and sheriff's card.

the business license is not necessary. the sheriffs license is <50 so yes i should have mentioned that. shes 18 so couldnt work at any of the massive clubs anyway. idk anywhere else where she could safely save. all clubs are overwhelming to a newbie, maybe you were so overwhelmed at first because you spent 4 yrs getting comfortable wherever you were so lv was a shock.

Re: Homeless newbie. Escorting vs stripping?
I agree with Vackra. LV is a beast even for well seasoned girls, and has start up costs that aren't practical for someone about to be homeless and already spending what little money they may have on a bus to even get there.

Thanks for the advice ladies

Re: Homeless newbie. Escorting vs stripping?
If you strip, read the pinned threads on the newbie section and hustle hut. Good luck to you.

Nope, I had danced in two major cities with strong stripping culture and I have never worked at a small club. Don't speak down to me like a child.

Re: Homeless newbie. Escorting vs stripping?
If I were you, I'd start stripping. You'll make enough money your first night for a hotel and you can eventually save enough for a deposit on an apt. I wish I would have started when I was 18. You'll do great :) good luck!!

Re: Homeless newbie. Escorting vs stripping?
I agree with the stripping advice. I started when I was 18, made money the first night and every night I worked thereafter. Stripping like every other profession requires discipline. Don't drink on the job. Put your money in the bank every night. Put 30% of your money aside for taxes. Show up for your shifts on time or early. Know the house rules, written and unwritten, and keep to them. If the house rules don't suit you, move on. There's always another club. Don't pay up front fees. Every club has auditions or amateur nights. Just do those.
If you go the escort route, do so only if you are 110% OK with casual sex. I have never escorted, but it looks to me like doing it to make money requires more money up front than stripping.
Whichever you choose, protect yourself. Go on the pill, or IUD or the shot. You don't want some guy jizzing and giving you a 9 month surprise. With escorting, always use a condom. No bag, no shag.
XOXO
