What Are the Odds That Someone Will Stumble Upon Your Campics?
Perspective on Photos
There is a post where a girl had a photo pop up and she almost threw up and wanted to confess to her family and was saying she made a mistake camming. After reading that I started to think about what the odds are that someone you know will actually see a photo of you. When you look at it realistically it's not likely someone will stumble onto you. The sites below are accumulating photos at an exponential rate. Adding in the number of photos from the web in general and other sites it has to be over a billion total everyday.
Instagram
40,032,000 Daily
1,200,960,000 Monthly
Facebook
350,000,000 Daily
6,000,000,000 Monthly
Twitter
30,000,000 Daily
900,000,000 Monthly
Wait! Before you flame me with stories of how it has happened to you. I am talking about someone you know surfing through Flickr or the web seeing you randomly. Think about how many of us on this site have had it happen to the total number of camgirls that have ever uploaded a photo.
Now when someone is targeting you that is going to increase the odds because they are actively seeking you out, but again how many camgirls are there total compared to those that have had Mom or Dad stumble upon their pics? Looking at it realistically it is highly unlikely so I wouldn't lose any sleep over it.

Re: What Are the Odds That Someone Will Stumble Upon Your Campics?
I don't really care if someone I know finds my pictures or videos. I no longer have a private personal media account which helps. If people I know find me, I hope they either buy my products or cry themselves to sleep knowing I make more taking a piss than they do at their dead end job! I also rest easy knowing I paid off my student loans in about a year and they're still 10's of thousands (or hundreds of thousands in my lawyer friends case) of dollars in debt.

So they can say what they please, I know I still win!

Re: What Are the Odds That Someone Will Stumble Upon Your Campics?
My ex was the first to see my popups and I accused him of lying because I didn't know they were out there. A girl from SW was the next to see my popups, when I was at her house actually, but she took a screenshot and remembered the site so I kept refreshing til I saw all 5. Then a guy I was dating who didn't know about cam, stumbled upon now 2 of my popups and sent me a screenshot... then later, told me about the second popup. I know he was telling the truth because he sent me a screenshot, and told me in detail what I did in the second pop-up. My ex was also able to tell me in detail what I was doing or wearing, so looking back, he was telling the truth also. I still have the screenshots saved from the former 2 people if you want them. And these were just the people that actually told me, who knows who else has seen them & kept it to themselves (or told other people who didn't mention it to me either).
So I don't think those numbers are accurate at all. There's only so many pop-ups that do pop-up on tube site porn sites, and it happens on all the major porn tube sites. Probably just a few hundred pop-ups. So if he is an avid porn watcher like most guys, he will eventually see it.
Instagram, twitter, tumblr, flikr, are not your enemies. Its porn tube sites, the few places where every man goes to look at free porn. Men don't openly talk about this to women, but yes, they are frequenting these tube sites very often, sometimes daily. It would start by them hearing your voice (from the pop-up ad) and wondering where its coming from, so I was told. Then they click around til they see your pop-up, and watch it. That is what happened in every instance for me.
And these pop-ups are from a Streamate private show, just FYI... not something I ever gave consent for Streamate to use, and not something I knew was being recorded for promo use. Streamate won't even take them down.

I am not worried about anyone seeing a random cam picture of me.
What is more likely would be if someone recognized me off of the first page of Streamate while they are surfing for a show or if they happen to be surfing for free porn on a tube site and a random popup of me happens to comes up. I've found out personally that the likehood of THAT happening was a lot higher they I had originally imagined. There are only so many 'big-box' camsites to work for, after all and only so-many popular big tube sites.
Statistics are a funny thing......it all depends on what data you are comparing. ;)
Oh, and as a side note.....when you are seeing a guy and it his co-worker that he is introducing you to that is the one who recognizes you when are taken to a staff party as his date? Yeah, that gets really fucking awkward really fucking quickly.

Re: What Are the Odds That Someone Will Stumble Upon Your Campics?
You might remember the post I made about my bro surfing porn and finding me via a popup on Streamate. After that little incident I am certain now that I am 100% cool with anyone finding out. I've had guys I went to high school with, or acquaintances msg me via FB telling me they saw me on there and then they hit on me and turn into creepers.
I changed my name on FB so it's not my real name, and my privacy settings are crazy high, no one can even post on my wall or tag me in anything anymore. I also deleted sooo many people off FB that aren't close to mw.
It truly does not bother me anymore though. People are jealous. They wish they had the balls to do what we do. Or they're jealous that as a fat girl I'm more comfortable being naked than they'll ever be. :p I love being a camgirl :p

Re: What Are the Odds That Someone Will Stumble Upon Your Campics?
I'd highly recommend always keeping your face out of overly sexual (toy play/ boy girl stuff etc) pics, and off cam altogether if you cam on a site like SM that share's your pvt stream whenever they feel like it. Sure your family might see a pic of your ass or tits, but without the face on there no one can ever be sure it is you and you can always deny it. Obviously you can be screencapped or recorded at any point, but if you do a regular search of the usual culprit tube sites and dmca the fuck out of anyone that tries that shit you should be just about able to keep your privacy for as long as you are vigilant.

Re: What Are the Odds That Someone Will Stumble Upon Your Campics?
For me being recognized or having people tell me I look familiar it is because of how much exposure I put into my work. I am not into camming just to work on one or two sites and keep my business only on the cam site. once you start posting more pics in more places then that is when you increase your odds of being recognized.
IF you want to cam and keep a low profile then don't get a twitter, instagram, and whatever else account with your cam name and use pics in your personal life that appears on your cam. keep your face and image presence to a minimum. Yes sometimes you might take a great cam pic and you might want to use it on let's say a dating profile. but then that increases your chance of being recognized.

Re: What Are the Odds That Someone Will Stumble Upon Your Campics?
Facebook has said in the media that it's 350 million a day
http://www.businessinsider.com/faceb...ach-day-2013-9
http://www.digitaltrends.com/social-...crazy/#!bJ3NEI
Instagram's site says 60 million a day
http://instagram.com/press/
Twitter
https://about.twitter.com/company
I can't find the estimate but I will. It's Twitter so it has to be in the millions.
Statistics are a funny thing but I just said it was unlikely because logically if use camgirls pics to total pics as a ratio then it's highly unlikely that someone in your family, like Mom or Dad, is going to run across them. Sure people have been found but the regular posters on this forum do not constitute the entirety of all the cammers. This forum is a microcosm and you can't judge the entirety of the business on the experiences here.
Do I care if someone finds my pics? Not at all. My personal opinion is that if you are worried you will be seen then don't become a camgirl. You just have a lot of new cammers that are always worried when the reality is it's probably not going to happen. Whether you are found or not is going to have a lot to do with how well you insulate yourself from the vanilla world sites. Facebook has some sneaky algorithms. If you ever used your real name Facebook won't forget. Evil bastards. I'm sure that if my Sister or a co-worker of my husband finds one it is going to be awkward, but I know what I got myself into and my husband wouldn't give a shit anyways.

I totally understand that this forum is a microcosm....but my point was it isn't a picture that is going to get you outted if you are Streamate.
There are other ways for people to figure out that people cam other than static images.

Re: What Are the Odds That Someone Will Stumble Upon Your Campics?
Yeah I understand. I was really thinking about new girls and how they are always so worried about that.
I have no idea why they would go on cam if they are so worried but they do.

I am 100% with you on that one.

Re: What Are the Odds That Someone Will Stumble Upon Your Campics?
I took it to mean that the chances of someone browsing a non porn related site and finding you are pretty slim. Which I would have to tend to agree, everyone who has found me was browsing porn sites.
But yah, count me in on the giving zero fucks. :)

Re: What Are the Odds That Someone Will Stumble Upon Your Campics?
mmmm I have a related question about this. I couldn't care less about popups, but will these sites show me more frequently to guys in my geographical area, just because I'm closer? I mean in comparison to other similar models, will being the only Mexican online (for example) make me show up more for guys in Mexico? Because that'd be one huge reason for turning geo-block on.

Re: What Are the Odds That Someone Will Stumble Upon Your Campics?
I saw a .gif of a friend of mine (she stopped caming over a year ago) on Reddit like two days ago. I showed her and she thought the comments were hilarious xD
So, I'd imagine that it's pretty likely that I'll be reposted, and that someone I know will see it. But you know what? IDGAF. I got paid for any of the sexual stuff I've done on cam, and I'm not ashamed of it. Sex is natural, and there's no reason to be ashamed of my body or the pleasures it can bring.

Re: What Are the Odds That Someone Will Stumble Upon Your Campics?
My ex sent me a screenshot from a tube porn site. He had clicked on the "dating" tab and there was my pic, along with other SM girls and the caption was...."Meet........." and had our performer names.
I also had a guy write me on a dating site saying he'd seen a SM pop up of me. That creeped me out because he was in my town.
I'm okay with it though. Doesn't really bother me if people see my pics online.

Yeah I just had a guy who was like "where in texas are you and why are you single" and demanded to know where I lived, but I don't live in texas. Obviously traffic from a dating site lol

Probably trying to get you to slip up. Like "I'm not in Texas dumbass, I'm in _______." I know you wouldn't fall for that but they try anyways. The power of pussy fries their brains.

Re: What Are the Odds That Someone Will Stumble Upon Your Campics?
High.
Just an example, friends of friends of mine found my tumblr and those pics werent reblogged by porn blogs at that time (they were non nude too) and I didn't have many followers and low note count.
(btw my friend brought it up, and they were like yea I know she cams I saw her tumblr).
so just think about all the people who may have saw you online wether is from twitter, tumblr, fake profiles, pop ups or actual cam sites and dont say nothing about it.
They could be your boyfriends friend of a friend, your baker, your grocery cashier, whatever.
I don't mind, thats why I decided to put myself out here on the internet in many ways, but if you do, please consider about minimizing your internet presence the most you can if you actually want to cam but dont want real life people to know about it.

Re: What Are the Odds That Someone Will Stumble Upon Your Campics?
If your cam persona is on tumblr or reddit, then I can pretty much guarantee someone already knows what you do.

Re: What Are the Odds That Someone Will Stumble Upon Your Campics?
Yes they definitely advertise on dating sites. I had guys constantly ask me where in Nebraska I was, and I'm pretty open about where I live which is nowhere near Nebraska, haha. Then a customer finally showed me the fake dating profile they advertised me on.
