How to do well on token sites? How to graduate from "amateur" site?
Hey guys, I've been wanting to ask this question for a while and have been trying to do research throughout the forum but I'm having a hard time figuring out what I should do. Here's a basic profile of what my position is right now:
On an "Amateur" token site, don't have any real professional looking pictures, a few sexy lingerie sets/outfits and only one toy. I don't log in for a set amount of hours, or have a decent schedule of when I log in because I live at home and have interruptions ( people knocking on my door, ect. )
I make maybe 100 dollars on a good day ( usually during the evening ) and have a couple regulars I can count on to tip and pvt me. However the traffic on my site sucks for the most part, a lot of them are foreigners ( primarily French ) who are broke as fuck and refuse to pay out. But, I do get decent shows were I'm paid out very well. However, those are rare, too rare for my liking.
However, I plan on moving out soon and getting a vanilla job on the side. I've been logging in for more hours, trying to stay on schedule and have upped my game by talking more. My camera isn't that great, but it serves it's purpose. I've also been thinking about playing up a schtick, like wearing sexy kitten ears or doing school girl/nerd outfits ( I wear glasses ) What are some things I could do to improve my hustle? More outfits, toys? And how do you guys usually go about getting sexy photos taken for your profiles? Thanks.

I think slowly investing in outfits, toys, and decor is the best way to go about expanding your camming. As for webcams, if you can drop $75-100 on a good cam, that should be your first priority... then maybe a new toy and a new outfit. Plus, if you find something works really well for you, you can always get more of it... or if something doesn't work at all for you, you don't have 10 of it in different colors lol.

As stated above, investing more in outfits, toys, and a good webcam. Slowly is fine. Or maybe even make an amazon wishlist and see if some of your few regulars will help you out. Do you mind if I ask what site you use? You don't seem very fond of it. Have you considered camming and switching between multiple sites?

A good internet connection is also important. The best webcam in the world is useless without a good upload speed. About the rest, what everyone says, try to put on personal and unique shows and get them as horny as you can!

Token sites are more based on creativity and attracting customers to make you be the "better deal."
For example, cum shows. You can log onto a token site, and I guarantee 30% of them are doing a show in public. So what does this do? It attracts the freeloaders, (mostly) to their page, and they don't have to pay to see a show.
Then put a girl hoola hooping topless in the mix who also has a game running. (Blackjack, keno, etc.)
That girl is going to attract the people that are willing to pay more, because she is doing something that most other girls do not. Catch my drift?
As for consistency, in my experience, I don't think it's AS important to be consistent on token sites as it is for private based sites. I'm very sporadic when I log onto my token sites, and I bank like crazy when I do because I'm missed. So, I guess it really depends on your client base.
As for the camera, logitech c910.
Make yourself stand out. That's my advice.

It's important, but as long as you have over .7 upload, you can easily get away with it for a while before upgrading. I'd rather have a great cam that comes through ok than a shitty webcam with a great connection.
Re: How to do well on token sites? How to graduate from "amateur" site?
you may be over thinking things a bit (maybe - not saying u r ). when i first started i thought i need a bunch of fancy sexy outfits and toys and stuff. im not going to bore u with the middle part but thru experience and something ive been trying for the past two weeks on cam is wearing the same shirts i wear out. I'm a geek so one day ill wear a green lantern shirt a big bang shirt dr who etc with a bra and undies and tease them by pulling up my shirt and i have really nice legs so i use that too . it attracts ppl to my room who like me. In camming you have to self urself. wither u want to sell urself or a character is totally something u have to see what works best for you. theres a camgirl on this site whos always telling me i need to buy wigs and do this and that and stuff appeal to a more broader range of guys yet i get compliments on my hair everyday (its a silver mullet-hawk) and just today i got a 15 min exclusive block on streammate with a hair fetish guy who likes alt hair and all i had to do was moan and fling my hair around/play with it etc. and theres another top SM girl who does this too and she does great just wearing geeky Ts and undies. she was actually what inspired me to do it too in all honestly. sometimes being different is okay because a lot of guys go on cam looking for something different that they dont have at home - that was a bit off topic but i dont want u thinking u have to be a bubblegum bimbo looking like a vicks secret girl or something with the sexy outfits and stuff.
But I agree with caramel invest in a good computer a good camera and good internet connection. invest in ur looks and ur attire and ur soundings as u see fit after that. it does take some experimentation tho. but this is a business and do get what you back into it as far as time and effort money go (as long as u do it wisely)
as far as toys go i only have 4 and really only planning on getting a strap-on because Ive been getting request for it more. I have my hitachi a soft dildo for BJ shows and i do put in me if he stays in long enough a glass dildo for my pussy and a glass dildo for my ass.
I went off on a tangent and forgot the topic was about token sites but yes token sites - they do tend to like u to dress up and wear cute things and stuff and make a show of everything but thats the joy of it imo because you can wear intricate sexy outfits and things and make them tip to get it off and its fun to dress up and be sexy but this also leads me to my next point.
this is something that another camgirl on here told me token sites are like a corporate business ladder you need to start off small then work ur way up. what i mean by that is u cant wear a super complicated outfit when ur new and expect guys to tip piece by piece to take it off or cover up too much when ur new because they'll just pass u up. start off wearing like bra and panties or whatever ur comfy with as long as u dont over up too much - give them something to work with then when u start getting a bigger camscore or followers or whatever and a bigger fanbase you can start wearing more and getting guys to take it off for tokens. sometimes this can backfire tho a few weeks ago i was watching a top girl on MFC want i think it was 3000 tokens to get her pantyhoes off she gave up and changed the topic after someone took her into a pvt tho . when ur income goes up so can the quality of what u wear on cam and this is my point - this gives you time to not worry about ur outfits right now just focus on what you have for now and when u feel ur financially ready start buying the nicer things.
the only really 'showy' thing i can think of as far as toys go is guys like the animal tail but plugs so after uve gotten enough 'basic' toys that ur happy with you can start buying special fun things like that

Thanks for starting this thread, I'm just starting out on MFC (like, yesterday lol) so I need all the help I can get!
As for photos-I was lucky enough to have a free hookup for an awesome photographer, but you could try Craigslist (be VERY careful obviously). In my area there are a lot of photographers offering unpaid but free photo shoots so they can build their portfolios and in exchange they help you build yours-look under "gigs". Be sure to take someone with you to meet up (and in public) and don't tell em what you want the pics for.
