Well, last nite was Saturday, so maybe in the madness of a busy wk end nite it was an unintentional error on staff's part. OTOH you know your staff better than any1 here, unless another SWer works at your club. Idk what to tell you, other than that it's bc of this kind of thing happening (intentional or not) that I think it is worth taking the time to collect what you're owed asap once the room ends. I have had it happen to me that my transaction got 'lost in the sauce' & I was too rushed to notice until later in the nite, when that happens you can't always know what really happened. Even assholes make genuine mistakes sm times.
That sucks. It's possible that the friend is so tight with management/hosts that they give him a discount. The owner of my club will get dances every so often when the club is dead, but will only pay half the dance price per song. He's upfront about that before taking the girl to the back though, so no surprises. I remember when I was new running into a manager's friend and he had some deal worked out on floor dance duos -- but, again, he was upfront about it so you could choose to walk away. The fact that it wasn't made upfront to you is either means that's not the case and it was an honest mistake/misunderstanding or they're just sketchy about it and hoped you wouldn't notice.
Like with everything else about the industry, whether your hosts steal or are honest totally depends on your club and the individual hosts. In some clubs, it could totally be a normal occurrence, or perhaps there's one host that all the girls know to be careful around.
Did you say anything about the missing money? Their reaction and reply would be the most informative.
Did the guy wear a bowtie and say he was an investor?

I feel you on not wanting to make enemies at work, but consider these things if you let this go:
1) if those hosts get away w/ this, I guarantee they will do it again, bc they know you're too chickenshit to do anything abt it.
2) as you said, this is a significant amt of $$. I don't have to tell you where it went, if it didn't go to you. It went in those shitbags' pockets.
3) I doubt you are the only girl that has had this problem, & even if you are the first, keeping quiet abt this will likely embolden them to target other girls. This is not only bad for the dancers, but I would think if mgmt gives a shit abt how their place is run, they don't want thieves on their payroll.
Go back to that mgr & have him go back thru the records, & tapes if necessary. Don't let this go.
I've been ripped off by staff and customers often enough to know that no one has your back. It is your responsibility to track the time and what is owed to you. If you don't have a work phone, get one. Then download an app to track the time. I use a basic countdown timer. When I sell a room, I set it to 30 (or 60) mins and then begin the dance. That way there is no argument as to how long has really passed.
I would 2nd this ^^^^ since most clubs I have worked at either had no staff keeping track of the time, or they would just say 'Have fun' & leave me there w/ no idea of where the clock was or when it was started. I have nvr had a customer object to me using my cell phone to set an alarm, when I sit nxt to them & let them see me setting the correct numbers to we both agree on the time-block.

Getting blacklisted … I know of hosts refusing to hook you up, but if you get a customer that you hustled on your own & he wants to do a room w/ you -- they can't force the guy to not take you, can they?

Um It was like 3 years ago and I"ve worked so many places. I think they paid me because I met him in the steakhouse( I was losing my voice and he got me tea and honey. Everyone was acting like he was someone but I think he was full of it( but I don't know because I work so many places and when I worked in manhattan it was 5 day trips). I now we were in there longer. I didn't say anything because I wasn't sure if he really was an investor and he was mad ( he pointed out two girls he usually goes with) I"m sure you know the two old eeuros that always do rooms together) and said I was lame basically and he usually went with them. Honestly I don't know who manages that club or how it's run but i would go with your instincts you seem to like it there and you now how it's run and if you think shit will happen let it slide or maybe say well he said he left me 500 what happened with that and I think we did X amount more time but really Manhattan is hard. I don't envy you. It's kind of why I don't come anymore because I've heard it's gotten so bad. When I was at ricks it was female hosts and no one on the floor ever got my vip . I did and just took them upstairs so their was none of that host switching bullshit. Or it never happened to me. I'd ask someone you trust at the club what they think. Most girls here ( if they haven't worked manhattan have no idea how the system is there. Or go on instinct.

Chicago use to be. Vegas is too but no other places I can think of are. Oh coke is huge at my summer club. Like people do it in the open at the tables it's ridic. I've worked at like 50 clubs in Dallas, Vegas, Chicsgo, Myrtle Beach, Houston, Indiana, Reno, Denver, NY, all over Florida , Nola, and I;m sure I'm forgetting places and I've never seen such rampant abuse of coke and everyone sells it!
Haha I totally know who you're referring to...
But yeah I feel like the Ricks chain, or at least ricks- but I'd assume it's the same at Vivid, is at least somewhat professional and if you were to bring it up they'd probably get to the bottom of it for you. It seems like they don't fuck around with shit as much as other clubs do, but like others said, you know those hosts and you should go with your instinct...
i would talk to the manager but dont get defensive, act genuinely confused on what happened and most importantly, ask what you can do to make sure that this doesnt happen again. say you feel bad because not only are you missing money but the club is missing money from that extra credit card transaction. be really sweet and innocent. "this has never happened to me at any of the other clubs, but i like this club and want to stay here so i want to know what to do next time" stuff like that.
even if the manager is in on it and took it for himself/the hosts, a) youre not going to get blacklisted because youre not acting aggressive, b) hes still aware that you know something got fucked up and its less likely theyll pull that shit on you again.
