Meal & Snack Planning for the full-time Cam Girl??? Suggestions
I would love, love, love, any and all suggestions on what to eat, and snack on while camming/clips/pso, social media, advertising, etc.
I don't know how to cook, so I find myself eating the same things day after day...i.e.. frozen dinners, and sandwiches, and nuts for snacks.
I would like to be able to 'whip' up some easy, quick and filling dishes, that I could make, and then freeze for the week.
I live alone, my budget is between $70- $100 per week for groceries, if that helps.
I work, all combined jobs, between 60-70 hours every week, so I would really enjoy some help with this. Something that will add variety and better nutrition when I do eat.
I know a lot of You are mothers, and have hubbys to feed also, (or going to school), and are strapped for time, so I'm hoping you can give offer some suggestions on how to maintain energy through eating.
I'm sure I could search online, but I really would like advice from other cam ladies, since we are all in the same boat when it comes to our time restraints.
Thanks so very much in advance!

Well, for starters, how bout a baked potato? You can cook it in the microwave. I love the Annie Chung Udon soups. They come w/the bowl, noodles, etc. You just put hot water in them & leave it sit.
What else, hmm. Hummas I like, sorta. Target sells a brand called Evol, (frozen, but good & nutritious) I love their egg white/flatbread breakfast sandwich, & their small burritoes.

vegetable crudites and bread with hummus or some dip that you like --nothing too runny so you won't drip all over the place. I'm bad at eating vegetables but I can eat lots of carrots, celery, cucumber, peppers, etc.... you get them cut up in a jiffy and you can make your own dips in advance.

Also, I love goat cheese Brie & crackers (Trader Joe's). Yogurt (I get plain & add fruit)

Re: Meal & Snack Planning for the full-time Cam Girl??? Suggestions
Great Thankx! Now what about meals? Breakfast I'm fine with.. it's lunches and dinners I'm having the most trouble with.
Things I can pre-make and then freeze.

This is really cheap, easy to make, goes along way and so so so so YUMM

Steamers frozen veggies are often on sale and you throw that in a mico for 5 min along with a potato or sweet potato that you poke holes in. Throw in a bowl, add canned beans if you need some protein. I put diff things on this, sometimes lemon, sometimes salsa, sometimes lemon pepper and spray butter, get creative.
Look for crockpot recipes. You can usually make and freeze. I start the crockpot in the am and by afternoon/evening it is ready to go.

I really don't like to cook, but I do it once in a while--if it's an easy recipe.
I get myself some frozen shrimp (you can thaw it in a few hours in the fridge)
buy those cherry tomatoes
melt some butter in a large skillet
slice the cherry tomatoes in halfs and heat up in the skillet
add the shrimp and sprinkle with garlic salt--shrimp will cook in about 3-4 minutes.
if you really want to get fancy--make some pasta and mix it all together
some use olive oil, it's probably better, but I've used butter.
pretty easy to make, and yummy.
I still don't like cooking, if you make a enough, you can fridge up what you don't eat and have a quick bite after re-heating in the microwave.
I usually get a lot of my quick frozen foods at Trader Joe's, I know I would save a lot more money if I just cooked more, I just don't like doing it--I can whip up a few things so I'm not completely lost in the kitchen LOL
Trader Joes has these little mini pizzas that soooo good and they heat up in about 13 mins at 350 degrees---they are bite size, like little appetizers
Also their frozen quiches are yummy--not too expensive

I've always dreamed of getting a crock pot--then I might actually cook more--I should make that a reality--I would be eating better, saving money and enjoying my home cooked meals

I strongly advise investing in a crock pot. There are tons of recipes out there that you just throw together in the morning, and walla, dinner is ready after your last fuck!

spaghetti squash and a meat sauce freezes pretty well and goes a long way -I also make an eggplant/zucchini spinach lasagna that I freeze - smoothies are quick and easy -- I eat alot of black bean burritos - I mix the blk beans with a bit of Rotelle canned tomato - easy to heat and throw on a tortilla or eat in a bowl - PB2 peanut butter and apple wedges

Re: Meal & Snack Planning for the full-time Cam Girl??? Suggestions
Just don't do what I do: start cooking, wander to the computer (Stripperweb! Twitter!) and forget about the food until I smell it burning. So many burned pans! Sometimes I just eat a damm can of soup.

Re: Meal & Snack Planning for the full-time Cam Girl??? Suggestions
Thanks everyone! Great suggestions! Keep em' coming!
I'm now going to put together a shopping list for Monday, and do weekly charts/calendar fill-ins with meal/ snack ideas.
I never eat on cam, or during pso, so it's fine to eat messy foods.
I just can't take a lot of time off from what I'm doing to cook, because I never get back to what I was doing. I get lazy, and distracted so easily./:O
Plus, I'm pretty much nocturnal now, so I have to be quiet so neighbors don't hear lots of clanging going on in the kitchen late at night. That's also when I eat my dinner, and snacks.

This thread is making me hungry
bulgar and couscous are both super easy and fast to cook--you can usually find them cheap at Trader Joe's, Target and maybe Walmart-- different flavors available--and it's usually not that expensive. You can put whatever veggies you like in during the last few minutes while it cooks--just a little extra water or liquid if you add some veggies
Sometimes they even put easy recipes on the boxes!!
I shop at Ralph's here in Los Angeles, so they have them on special.
...just another quick snack idea--if you like Tahini Sauce, you can buy it anywhere, pour it on some Hearts of Palm, pretty yummy--no cooking required at all--kind of perfect for me
-
Re: Meal & Snack Planning for the full-time Cam Girl??? Suggestions
^^ I've never tried Tahini sauce, so I'm excited to try it with the hearts of palm. Yum.
That's where I'll be shopping (Ralphs), so You're welcome to join me.
P.M. me if u want. I loathe going to the supermarket alone, because I never know what to get, and there are so many choices... Plus, that bright lighting, and loud tacky music is a buzz kill.

I love my crock, you can cook anything in it. Word to the wise, get a good size one, not the small one. I had initally bought the small one and could not get a roast into it. The bigger ones will allow you to cook your dinner and freeze the rest for next week. Sometimes I ut it on at night and wake up to the wonderful smell of my lunch already made :-) OMG< I am getting hungry.
I really like this idea:
I googled crockpot once a week and found this website
http://www.sixsistersstuff.com/2012/...e-8-meals.html
basically prep each recipe and put in plastic bag. Then when youa re ready grab the bag, put in the crock... nice

Thank you for starting this thread.....this is something I really struggle with.
I eat a lot of mason jar salads. If you Google the term 'mason jar salad' and there should be more information on the concept then you know what to do with. :D
Edited to add: I know these aren't something you freeze but they are make ahead for the week so I thought you might like them. :)

Re: Meal & Snack Planning for the full-time Cam Girl??? Suggestions
^^I just googled mason jar salads. Def. going to try that for my lunches.... It's so LOA (law of attraction), because I just bought my 2nd mason jar sippy cup last week to drink my water out of while camming.
They are so much easier than the regular plastic kind with the straw (which I have like 10 of).:drink:

I have a sweet pain-in-the-butt aunt that still worries that I don't cook LOL, I'm forty-friggen four years old, getting very set in my ways.
She is an excellent cook, she whips up lots of stuff in the crock pot. She gets excited when I tell her I cooked something for myself.
I do those quick cook recipes--like 15-30 prep tops---just not enough, it's too easy to get frozen food, or deli food.
Since it is fall, I'll get one--new adventures every day!!! thx for the recipe site

Re: Meal & Snack Planning for the full-time Cam Girl??? Suggestions
^^ I'm older too, and so set in my ways... Esp. since we both live where the pre-made food is everywhere, and oh, so delish.!
I get distracted by that when I see all of it in the deli cases, etc.
I'm just hoping for cooler weather, instead of the 100 plus days we've been having for months! I hate cooking when it's so hot. I wish everyday could be like the past 2, weather wise.
Heat takes me down... Argh!
Those mason jars salads will be great for the upcoming yet again, heat wave coming our way...

Re: Meal & Snack Planning for the full-time Cam Girl??? Suggestions
Good thread idea! I'll be keeping an eye on this one :)
I don't have much to contribute, because you said you had breakfast covered and that's the meal I eat before I cam usually. But a good go to breakfast for me that's quick is just scrambled eggs with cheddar cheese. I know, it's uninspiring lol. I usually don't even eat breakfast food though. I eat heavier, dinner type food. I'll do Hamburger Helper and all kinds of crazy stuff for breakfast.
I second the baked potato- I have one of those microwave potato things and they're awesome. 5 minutes plus cheese, bacon, and sour cream and it's a party in your mouth lol.

Re: Meal & Snack Planning for the full-time Cam Girl??? Suggestions
I came across this recipe for chili a few months ago. Lasts my family of 4 about 4 days but we have it for a couple meals. I love it because I can make a pot and not really have to do any other cooking for a while, but it makes a really nice meal. I do make it entirely organic and it comes out to about $5 a serving per person. A little more spendy than a frozen pizza but it it's so much more satisfying. It actual helped me loose weight because instead of snacking when I didn't want to cook a meal, there was already one in the fridge I just had to heat it up. I'm sure if you use non-organic ingredients it would come out to a lot cheaper. The steaks run $7.49 a pound for me. I'm no chef and the reason I love this is because its super hard to screw it up.
Here's the recipe:
1 package of chili seasoning. I use the simply organic brand. But you can just add however much for taste. I've used anywhere from 1/2-2 packages before.
2 cups of beef stock
3 tablespoons of virgin coconut oil
1 beer
2 cans petite diced tomatoes
2 small cans of tomato paste
3 medium cuts of steak diced (I use the cheaper cuts like flank or skirt steak. I just add 3 packages)
combine everything in a pot and bring to boil, then reduce to low and simmer for about 45 minutes or until the steak is completely cooked through.
Then add 2 cans of kidney beans, 1-2 cups of sweet corn (you can just forgo this altogether if corn doesn't float your boat but I love the burst of sweetness next to the spicy chili). Let simmer for about 15 minutes.
Now your ready to eat! I top with sour cream and cheese.
