Re: stripper without a car?
I've often walked home from the strip clubs I've worked at, but I've never worked in strip clubs in areas where I felt unsafe. If I'm understanding your post correctly, you'll be walking home at 8am when it's light out and there's lots of traffic driving by? Personally, I'd feel safer walking home at 8am when it's busy than walking there at 12am when it's not.
You know your area best though. If you feel uneasy, spring for a cab home -- it won't be expensive since you're not going far, and theoretically you'll have made money during your shift to cover the cost.
Re: stripper without a car?
A lot of cab companies wait outside clubs after they're closed because they know girls will need rides. You could call the club near your home and ask them if there is a cab company that regularly picks up girls from their club or if they have their number. I used to live ten minutes away from my old club too, sometimes I would walk to the club and cab it back home and it worked out well.
Re: stripper without a car?
it really depends on the area, i don't think it is dangerous to be walking around at 8 am, but if you really don't feel safe i suggest taking a cab
Re: stripper without a car?
Yeah I should be ok it's a school near by lots of businesses near by and a police station. It's a very busy highway. Im just scared one of the customers might follow me. And carrying large amounts of money makes me feel anxious I do carry a knife on me I can't wait until I get enough money for a gun then I wouldn't be worried at all
Re: stripper without a car?
Is your bank nearby? You could stop there first and deposit your earnings, then head home. Considering it'll be light out and businesses will be opening up with people bustling around, it's pretty unlikely that you'll get mugged or something en route.
Re: stripper without a car?
Yeah there is a bank lol I didn't think about that I think I get so overwhelmed with dancing sometimes my mind just goes blank
Re: stripper without a car?
Don't think like a strong-armer -- think like a pickpocket.
My $$ nvr leaves my garter, & my garter does not come off, until I am home & undressing to hop in the shower.. I nvr carry more $$ in my bag or wallet (or anything else external) than necessary to pay club fees & cab fare. Cash in smaller bills periodically so you don't have a huge bulge hanging off your leg, & wear long pants or jeans that you can just throw on when you're dressing to go home. Wear a couple layers of tall athletic socks & you can stick $$ in them as well(this is good for while you're still at work too, along w/ tall boots), just smooth them out a bit b4 leaving so they are not as obvious.
When I worked in DC, I lived outside the city, parked sm distance away & walked to the club in the afternoon then took a cab back to my car after work. 5min drive at 3am, it was cheaper than my house fee. Ask the club for recommendations of cab companies, my club they did not typically wait outside so you would have to call b4 end of the shift or walk a couple blks to hail one. It wasn't an unsafe area (as far as DC goes) just not cab-busy at that hr. You can also check out Uber, or your area's equivalent.
Re: stripper without a car?
Here in Chicago we've Zipcars..you sign up, & they're all over the city, you just p/up keys jump in & drive, drop it off when done.
Re: stripper without a car?
In NOLA I walked to and from the club. I didn't have issues.
Re: stripper without a car?
I rode a bicycle to and from the club for a year. Never had any problems. Well, except when there were was a snow storm, but management was understanding and let me leave early before the snow hit. Then I had to stay home until the roads were safe to ride again.
Re: stripper without a car?
Take a cab. Always make note of the cab company and number when you get in.
Re: stripper without a car?
if you do walk home and you are so close, i definitely second either stopping at the bank or at least making some kind of detour on your way home - it might take a couple extra minutes, but it's worth it to make sure that no one's tailing you on your way! i used to walk home from a club that was right next to a busy clubbing street, so i would always just walk through the crowd leaving bars at 3 am and mingle for a bit to get lost in the crowd, then carry on my way. i never had any problems!
Re: stripper without a car?
You could tip someone to give you a ride since it's right down the street
