How to find out quickly if customer is going to spend or not?
I have some trouble with this. I've heard some dancers will see almost immediately if customer is going to spend anything. How do you do that? I will usually ask for a drink or for a Private... if they say no to both, then I know I better walk away. But do you have any other advice?.. And another question; when customer says no to Private, should you try and change their mind or just give up and walk away? I feel like I just always say "okay then, have a good night"... but then i will think " what if I had just tried to push them a little more?" Do customers find it rude or distressing if a dancer attempts to change their mind after they have said no? Do you think I could sell more if I wouldn't leave the table before I get for example 2 to 3 no's? Or is it just a waste of time?

I'm sure there's a thread or three around here sm where abt 'how to turn no into yes' … hint hint …
Girls who can tell quickly whether a customer is likely to spend on them have been doing this for awhile. They have their hustle down, & often tailor themselves to a particular demographic. Finding that demographic & perfecting the most effective hustle for them takes time & practise.
Me -- I don't generally appeal to black guys, for example, so I don't make them a priority. When I do approach them, I usually know w/in five min or less if there is a chance. Disrespectful thug types that are more focused on my race than even knowing my name … yeeeeaaah, no. Guys who sm how indicate they prefer a more voluptuous body type to my athletic build -- not likely, but maybe. Older, educated guys who aren't race- & $$-obsessed, my chances are not certain but are much better. Military guys (of any race but still on the subj of black guys) -- almost a guarantee.
Re: How to find out quickly if customer is going to spend or not?
If he's making eye contact with me, smiling, seems into me, it's usually gonna be a sale, but I try to never talk for more than 5 minutes before asking if he's ready for dances. Some guys will buy a dance just to keep me from leaving them, or tip me to stay and talk.. If he's a time waster that wants to chit chat for free I want to know as soon as possible so I can move on. If he's looking around/watching TV/not talking much/asking about other dancers it's probably a "no" cause "he's just not that into you" (or he's broke! lol)
Re: How to find out quickly if customer is going to spend or not?
You'll learn the more you practice, I find that the longer I do this job, the easier it is for me to read people. Literally every guy is different and I just go with my gut. Many times the guys who seem like they have the most money are the most reluctant to part with it and just want to waste your time. I've been surprised before, though, and I just go with what feels right. Sometimes it feels good to close a sale quickly and other times it feels better for me to drag it out with the customer. Always different, there's no formula except to follow your gut (if you get the feeling that you should move on, try to close and see if you are right).
