Brightocular. permanent eye color change
Just saw this on Worldstar and I have to say, this is the first cosmetic surgery that I reallllllllly want. I'll probably never do it cause I don't want to risk damage to my eyes but I think this is awesome and I've never seen/heard of it before. Basically, you fly to India, a surgeon then implants a silicone colored contact over your iris and this is the result...Attachment 39350Attachment 39351Attachment 39352Attachment 39353Attachment 39354Attachment 39355Attachment 39356
I posted three people with their before and afters.
What do you guys think? Do you know anyone that's had this done?

Re: Brightocular. permanent eye color change
That sounds like a recipe for blindness right there...

Re: Brightocular. permanent eye color change
I'd so want that but the lack of years of successes kind of deters me.

Re: Brightocular. permanent eye color change
Wow. As someone who has had holes in her corneas before, you do NOT want to fuck with your ocular health like this. I have had broken bones and lacerations, and neither hurt as badly or consistently as my corneas did. It is 100% not worth it.

Re: Brightocular. permanent eye color change
jesus, all i'm picturing is that sketchy scene from minority report

Re: Brightocular. permanent eye color change
Creepy. Hell to the no on this.

Re: Brightocular. permanent eye color change
hate to say it but do noottttt go to india for surgery on your eyes.

Re: Brightocular. permanent eye color change
I think there's a laser surgery here in the States, that lightens the eyes permanently. Sounds risky either way. The idea freaks me out.

Re: Brightocular. permanent eye color change
That's cool but definitely needs more time before it'll be safe. In the future changing your eye color will probably be as easy as changing your hair color! I love blue/green eyes.. mine are brown :(

Re: Brightocular. permanent eye color change
It's an intriguing concept, but … the eyes are really not smtg that should be messed around w/ IMO … given that they are both essential & rather fragile. Idk that it could become as simple as changing your hair colour since therés so many more components making up the eyeball than the hair shaft.

Re: Brightocular. permanent eye color change
I like my dark brown eyes way too much to waste money on a procedure that could make me blind.

Re: Brightocular. permanent eye color change
Oh my God don't do it please.
Sorry to be dramatic but I used to follow this on youtube a few years ago.
There was a company called NewColorIris in Panama that did these implants.
This company Brightocular claims not to be associated with NCI and claims to have an improved procedure but according to this article http://www.realself.com/article/eye-...urgery-updated there is still cause for warning. I personally would'nt be surprised if they changed names and made some modifications to the implant to escape all of the negative publicity. Even if it were proven to be a separate company if you had seen the video warnings of former customers of NCI I doubt you would do it. Here is a youtube link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xeWWL1ylAQE. Here's another video from years ago https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yQUN9J_XU84
Edit- Oops I just noticed you wrote you'd probably never do it but I guess any info shared here is good for us all :)

Re: Brightocular. permanent eye color change
I'd wait a few years to find out how safe this really is.
I remember when Lasik started advertising and I thought it was sooo sketchy, but now it's one of the safest and coolest procedures out there. We'll see what happens with this, though I am happy with my natural eye color.

Lasik was exactly what I thought of when I first saw this thread. It's true that Lasik is a fantastic procedure, & mostly very safe -- but when smtg does go wrong w/ it, it tends to have sm serious consequences.

Re: Brightocular. permanent eye color change
I saw where TI's wife Tiny had this done recently to change her eyes to grey - from brown. Which to me she looks creepy.
I actually had Lasik to correct my vision. I was scared shitless to have someone fucking with my eyes and my vision and praying this doctor knew what he was doing. But it was work it to have surgery to improve vision quality.
Before I used to wear color contacts so I could see the desire for a surgery to change eye color but I wouldn't risk my vision and eyes again for something purely cosmetic.

Re: Brightocular. permanent eye color change
I'm pretty vain...but not vain enough to eventually get glaucoma or cataracts which will occur from this surgery. There's also a newer procedure in the works--removes the brown pigment from your eye to reveal the blue underneath that everyone is born with; however unless they do years of research showing possible risks it's still not worth it. Only one year of following subjects to test safety?? Brightocular used to go under NewIris the company that gave people permanent eye damage. Try solitica if you want a colored contact that no one will be able to detect. Also they use contacts to change your color--contacts will never be able to emulate the depth and intricacy of a natural iris, your result will be one dimensional like a blob of bright color with no real depth.
http://www.nytimes.com/2013/01/03/fa...anted=all&_r=0 a girl who had it done and later had them removed
http://thegrio.com/2013/04/11/perman...orth-the-risk/ an article on it

Are you sure? I skimmed both articles and it doesn't look like it's anything but implanted contacts. Storma is seeking fda approval for actual laser change to the eye color, please link to where it says 1 year, I haven't seen an actual date range yet?

Re: Brightocular. permanent eye color change
I didn't know that having brown eyes was shitty enough to risk permanent eye damage with a procedure that lacked credibility. smh

Re: Brightocular. permanent eye color change
^ i love brown eyes!! if i were to get that, i would choose a deep brown or hazel. blue does nothing for me, but i guess its because everybody on my family is blue/green eyed. the grass is always greener.

Re: Brightocular. permanent eye color change
Wow. Horrible. The colors completely lack any depth, complexity, or any uniqueness. They look fake and soul-less. How sad to mess with something so sacred, the windows to the soul... completely obscuring the unique irises you were born with... no one else will ever have the exact color and pattern in YOUR iris... to destroy that permanently seems truly sad to me. The least these companies could do is add some color striations like you see in a natural iris, and at least pretend to add some uniqueness and soul back to these "eyes". So strange...

I noticed this too. I love grey-eye variants, but these results just looked like flat, poor-quality novelty zombie contacts.

I got that they would collect one year of research off the actual stroma website
