help! marionette lines/premature aging
So, most of my family ages TERRIBLY. I go to yoga regularly, use sunscreen, eye cream, moisturizers and still have deep lines around my mouth :/ My siblings all have jowls and marionette lines. It's been depressing for me because besides stripping and fbsm I do art modeling and noticed a huge difference in photos from a few years ago. I don't even feel comfortable wearing makeup anymore because it makes me feel worse about the lines and sagging.
besides face lifts (which I don't want to at this age...or at all, if possible), what are other options? I've heard of different types of fillers but don't know which are best or how to find good surgeons for this. Any tips are appreciated :)
Re: help! marionette lines/premature aging
Like anything else, part of the problem is probably genetic.
That aside, how well do you hydrate? I always notice a real difference when I start drinking decent amts of water after a spell of not having been hydrating properly.
Re: help! marionette lines/premature aging
fillers can definitely plump out the marionette lines, i got fillers a year ago ( juvaderm ) and was really pleased with the results. what is your diet like though?
Re: help! marionette lines/premature aging
there's also temporary line fillers..I notice that when I moisturize throughout the day, (not just after cleansing) that all my lines look way better. I also use L'oreal foundation w/the 'blur' product in it (softens the appearance of lines). They also sell the 'blur' separately. I didn't like it when it first came out, but I do like the foundation now with it in there.
Re: help! marionette lines/premature aging
I don't like soda very much so what I drink a lot of water. I try to drink 2 quarts a day because I noticed it made my skin look healthier. I rarelyy eat fast food but I know my diet could be better. My main issue is that I'm usually too busy to eat home.
I guess I'll look into fillers because even when my skin is glowing the lines are apparent. What's a good way to find surgeons that do this?
Re: help! marionette lines/premature aging
There's a magazine called New Beauty, they have lots of anti aging & plastic/office surgery/procedures in there, for all over the US. It's a start, anyway.

I remember always seeing this in one of my PS office. I need to subscribe, Anyway....fillers such as was suggested is your best bet, Juvederm is wonderful and I've known several people that have used it for the lines around the mouth and I personally have been getting it in my top lip for around 10 years. Love it.
Also there is something called a quick lift that is supposed to be perfect for jowls. I've heard it's inexpensive and very little downtime! Another option: ultherapy. Check out realself.com for reviews and other options, I love that site for real life results.
Re: help! marionette lines/premature aging
Google " yoga for face" and after try it. I will tell you seriously "it works"! Also you can try see on youtube " japanese massage for face"
I found special system for face, i see a huge different before and after on my own face.
Re: help! marionette lines/premature aging
Go to groupon or such, there are deals on fillers, botox & such.
It may cost you $1000 to $2000 but it last about a year.
With in one hour or so in a doctor office you can look 10 years younger & feel better about yourself. You can't nap or lay down for several hours or workout that day. But by the next day you should be fine. Botox does take a few days to work.
Get it done in the morning, take the day off. Have plenty of ice packs to deal with any swelling that may occur but may not. All the lotions, eating right & exercise can't reverse the aging process, slow it down, yes. Going to doctor office once or twice a year, makes my fans wonder how I look better than ever & don't age. LOL
It is well worth the investment.
Good Luck,
Sam

I have used Radiesse filler and had good results. I have the jowl issue from my dads side of the family. I few years ago I had a bit of lipo there. It was inexpensive, quick procedure, quick recovery, and well worth it. I had to wear a bandage under my chin and over the top of my head for about a week. That was really the only inconvenience.
Re: help! marionette lines/premature aging
try to pack healthy lunches like spinach/kale salad, fruit, veggies, even something you could maybe reheat? diet is one of the most important things you can do to reverse the signs of aging or keep them at bay, as well as drinking water which it looks like you do! good on you for the sunscreen, so many people don't think its important and would rather spend hundreds on potions and lotions that aren't going to reverse shit.
go on "real self" or other plastic surgery pages and there will be some good reviews of doctors near you. juvaderm was 5 or 6 hundred a syringe for me and the good thing about it is that it can be reversed if you don't like it
Re: help! marionette lines/premature aging
I'm a medical aesthetician at a dermatology office/medi-spa. To the person who mentioned botox, that would not be the right type of treatment for lines on the lower half of the face. Botox is typically used for lines on the forehead, between the brows, and outer crows feet. OP, what you want is Juvederm, which is a hyaluronic acid filler. It lasts 6-12 months, kicks in instantly, and costs $550 for a syringe at my work. You might have slight bruising or swelling, typically only lasts a few days if you do. You don't need a surgeon, just go to a dermatologist who does it.

This was going to my suggestion. Yoga for the face is also kinda fun to do.

omg! I had no idea it could be reversed! I'm 25 but seriously, my family ages TERRIBLY, even my straight edge relatives with good habits. I don't really have issues with wrinkles or baggy eyes, it's just those deep lines around my mouth that bother me. It's hurt my confidence so much that I've almost completely stopped booking modeling shoots (not to mention the fact that I never take selfies and avoid group photos...lol).
This thread's been so useful :D If anyone has recommendations for NYC doctors or medical aestheticians please pm me. I know I can google it but I feel like it's good to hear from people who've experienced it personally.
Re: help! marionette lines/premature aging
Im currently researching LEDlight therapy, I know next to nothing about it but hey, maybe there is something in it for you; I've heard it stimulates collagen production.
