Customer paying tuition slip up
I don't know exactly what section to put this in but mods feel free to move if need be.
Anywho I have a customer who's been paying my tuition on a quarterly basis. At the beginning of the quarter I tell him how many units I'm taking (I always say a full load--12 units) and he sends a check from his organization directly to campus. For the past two quarters though I only took 9.. Last quarter the amount that was overpaid just transferred over to this quarter. No problems. This quarter however, the school actually called him to inform that the tuition was overpaid (by $700). I have no idea why they did that because they didn't do so last quarter. Anyway I don't know what to do, because I don't want him to know I lied about taking more classes than I actually was. What the heck should I say ?
Re: Customer paying tuition slip up
Some of my classes are cheaper than others. Electives are usually half. Just tell him that these term your doing subjects that ate cheaper
Re: Customer paying tuition slip up
Whenever customers ask me about money, I play dumb. "Oh how odd. My subjects this term must be cheaper." Shrug and move to being sexy
Re: Customer paying tuition slip up
^^ I wish I could pull that off easier but he's pretty detail oriented and isn't so concerned about my sexual appeal-- he's always getting in my business about how school is going. I actually have to give him a breakdown of what classes I'm taking and how many units each one is at the start of the quarter.. Ledger card etc.. The whole 9. I straight up lied lol
Re: Customer paying tuition slip up
you have to sign forms at most universities with regards to who is allowed to have access(other than you) to information about what/how many classes you are taking. You could tell him that some of your courses count for more credits, or better yet tell him you have an internship/work study class this semester that counts as credits but you don't get charged tuition it turns out (you thought you did, since it's listed as x amounts of credits in your course calendar or whatever). This actually happened to me my last year of uni, I wasn't expecting to be elligible for student loans that year and having that course counting for credits saved my butt. totally legit cover.
now, I know this is a bit off topic but I am SUPER curious how you hustled this kind of deal out of your custie! Like holy shit that is so smart and if I end up feeling like going to grad school in a couple years I want to give your method a go :)
Re: Customer paying tuition slip up
^^ Omg perfect!! I actually am taking a work study course this quarter that I already told him about. Sweet !!
As for the deal-- I seriously just lucked out bc he was the one who orchestrated everything. Def a savior complex there. He basically said "I think you're better than this. I want to pay your tuition" and has followed thru ever since.. I just nod along.
Re: Customer paying tuition slip up
I would just say I have to crash some classes so that's why I registered for less. There were a few classes you wanted but were at conflicting times so you just registered for the ones you knew you for sure were Gona take. Unless it's too late for you to still be adding classes? It's November so yeah I guess it is too late. Maybe just say well I had to drop two of them and couldn't get the one you wanted and the lady at the office said he would be automatically refunded lol. Just act like well duh arent they going to send you back whats left over? That's what usually happens! Lol all innocent. You'll just miss out on some money but better than losing him completely!
Re: Customer paying tuition slip up
Ooh that's a good one too !!!

the saying pigs get fat and hogs get slaughtered comes to mind - if you really want to go to school :graduate: why mess it up by lying?? Tricks do expire but it can happen quicker if he knows he is being lied to -:twocents:

Not wanting to 'rain on anyone's parade', but ...
For the past couple of years, all US college bursar's offices have been required to independently report tuition payment amounts to the IRS. The stated purpose for these automatic tuition payment reports is to provide 'official' verification for tuition tax credits claimed on annual tax returns.
However, the IRS can and does use the financial info provided by college bursar's offices via tuition payment reports in other ways, such as cross-verification of FAFSA student grant / loan eligibility ( which are based on total household income ), or ... perhaps more importantly ... as a cross-check of a person's total spending versus the total amount of income reported on that person's tax return.
Put another way, if college student XYZ with Social Security number 123 files a tax return reporting, say, $20k in annual income, but a college reports that the same person paid $10k in tuition, while the IRS database shows that the zip code area person XYZ lives in has an average annual cost of $15k for rent, food, utilities, etc., and a FAFSA cross check shows $3k in student grants and zero in student loan money .., it's highly likely that the IRS will decide to investigate how it was possible for this additional money to have 'magically' appeared out of nowhere.
From the standpoint of official policy, the IRS considers payments made by a non-related male to a female 'sex industry' worker to be 'payments for services rendered' ... thus additional income for that 'sex industry' worker which is fully reportable and fully taxable. You previously stated that your custy actually pays your college tuition via checks drawn against an 'organization' bank account. Obviously, if the IRS goes looking, the college bursar's office will have a record of thesse checks ... thus an official paper trail of payments made between yourself and your customer's 'organization'. I don't want to predict that anything 'bad' is actually likely to happen here, but there may be the potential for a large IRS tax 'mess'. Just sayin' ...

I don't consider getting your tuition paid as getting rich - and I have no idea what rule you are referring to? or what your comment about his being a sex worker forum means ???- if that avatar is actually you then I have been hustling tricks since way before you were born - a smart girl knows which hustle to pull on which trick - some you have to hit and get all you can as quick as you can - others you bleed out over time - tricks usually know they are being used but they choose to be to get whatever benefit they want from the relationship - companionship - arm candy - white knighthood - sex - whatever - something in the deal that meets their needs -- that doesn't make them stupid or want to be lied to - Op is concerned that her deal is going to end so that seems to indicate he probably doesn't want to be lied to - my point was why mess up a sure thing that could net her a 20k or 30k education over a long term for a few hundred dollars short term ??
Re: Customer paying tuition slip up
^^ thanks for the insight. TBH i wasn't trying to just squeeze him out of a few hundred dollars... I know that if I just asked him for it he would give it to me.. I told him 12 units because that's what I've been telling him for the past few quarters and he's pretty adamant about me taking on a full load of courses and dancing in the club less.. I dropped two classes without telling him and didn't think it would be a big deal.
Re: Customer paying tuition slip up
I think what I told you to say jadey would be the best! That's what I would say anyway. That they'll send him what's left and that's what you expected was going to happen. Congrats on having that deal worked out tho I need to find myself one of those lol
