Time for a stripperweb boycott of facebook
While I have been expecting it its still bullshit that they make you go through hoops that can force you tp post your real ID and personal information up just to keep your ID. When your real ID can affect you more than the stage name one because your family was heavy into organized crime that's where I draw the line.
Now they have done it to me. I think we should all boycott Facebook.
Re: Time for a stripperweb boycott of facebook
I deleted my facebook account years ago. The government stores everyone's profiles and information into a database, and uses it against us to collect as much info about us as possible. Fuck that.
Re: Time for a stripperweb boycott of facebook
The only FB acct. I have, is under a fake name, as is my gmail acct. :)
Re: Time for a stripperweb boycott of facebook
same as mine. In fact just about everyone I kmow personally knows me as Amy.
Re: Time for a stripperweb boycott of facebook
My name is fake on their too. My family gets pissed at me. Too bad! It's just my last name and I only joined F.B. like 4 years ago and didn't even go on there until the last couple of years. Shrugs.
Re: Time for a stripperweb boycott of facebook
Just out of curiosity, I went to myspace.com and it looks like it's still available.

Re: Time for a stripperweb boycott of facebook
I just wish I had figured out which fucking bitches from here had copied my info from Facebook to pass to others. I mean, I know who they are here, I just wish I had figured out who they were when they originally stalked me. That's why I hate Facebook, way too many psychos stalking people to laugh at them. So yep, I am glad Facebook is requiring people to use their real names, though if they have a dancer name they should be allowed to have that as a fan page. I understand where you are coming from Amy Lynne, but at the same time these bitches of which I speak really harassed me and I know others here and other sites who were harassed by scum who didn't have the guts to use real names and hid behind fake names to troll.
Re: Time for a stripperweb boycott of facebook
oh, and if you stopped using facebook but still use whatsapp, you might look at encrypted, self-destructed messages, fapp: telegram.org

Ecactly why I don't accept friend requests from girls here. ( some anyway, are bipolar for sure)!Users I tell ya!
Re: Time for a stripperweb boycott of facebook
Or shall I say people I don't know irl. I think it's hilarious when people have 600 friends. I have less than 70 because I don't accept from people I don't know well or my friends now well...

Everytime i go on myspace i picture two dudes sitting in some rundown myspace office highfiving each other and feeling hopeful about the future, then i feel bad and log off.

Yeah I wish I had learned that earlier. I unfriended the person but it was still annoying. The other SW people on Facebook are pretty cool and don't think they would do it.
Re: Time for a stripperweb boycott of facebook
I was wondering why you disappeared from my feed, Amy, lol. Too bad. You posted a lot of great stuff!
Re: Time for a stripperweb boycott of facebook
I deleted mine in 2011, I wish I had done it sooner. I only had it from 2008 to 2011, but thats already too much information the government has. Be aware ladies that the government also keeps every tweet in a database too, as well as every podcast, whether you live in America or not, twitter & all podcasts are also being saved. From my understanding your local LE has access to every facebook from members who live in their county, as well, whether they are private facebooks or not. So not only is the government saving everything you post on there, your local backwards cops can access it too.
Re: Time for a stripperweb boycott of facebook
Sometimes I feel left out because so many people are on Faceboko all the time. But I never really enjoyed it, ans the surveillenace aspect was creepy.
Is there any way to maintain a FB ID without using the real name anymore?

^ Now there is! Pressure from drag queens and trannies finally got them to change the policy.
Re: Time for a stripperweb boycott of facebook
I try to keep personal information off the Internet. Never made a facebook page. And society treats me like I'm the weird one. Facebook is the world's largest data mining company. Just say no, people.

At the forefront as usual.
Precisely what made Facebook so huge on the business universe, was the idea that it would have access to people's real identities, not so much for the identities per se but for the reliable gathering of who's really where, who's really doing what, who's really interested in what. The Facebook subscriber is the merchandise and the customers are the advertisers and marketers and they want you completely exposed and unshielded.
Commercial social media has achieved the not unremarkable feat of getting millions of people to willingly upload into some cloud over which they have no control, information about their comings and goings and interests and lives that otherwise the State would have had to get through torture. I remember one security consultant telling me about when he visited a country and had a meeting with some government official and quickly rattled off a series of details about his movements and actions in the past week and his household spending habits, and when the official was stunned at his intel prowess he just said, nope, got it from your daughter's social media feeds.
Re: Time for a stripperweb boycott of facebook
Long ago in 2002 I was told by a tech geek who was like an Internet Jedi never to use my real info ever. He said I would see why in the upcoming years and boy was he right. He stated you never know who is behind the scenes looking at your information.
