Re: covering a scar to tan
The problem w/ trying to tan deeply-scarred areas is that it can not only visibly dmg the scarred area further (i.e. increasing discolouration) but the trauma can make the area much more vulnerable to burning & skin cancer. If you are wanting to deepen your colour stick w/ a tanning spray or lotion. I mentioned the bad cut on my arm -- the three-inch scar that's left has NVR responded well to sun exposure since then, it remains very sun-sensitive even 10yrs later. Sunscreen does little to nothing to protect it. When I go out on the boat or otherwise plan to be out in the sun for a long period I put on sunscreen but also wrap a narrow length of fabric around my arm to cover the scar. Since it's horizontal the tan line is fairly narrow & can be easily filled in w/ tanning lotion.

Yeah. I know I air brush before trips. But I like to have a base tan or it looks fake( because I like to be black, lol) plus it makes me feel better. Idk.
Re: covering a scar to tan
I'd put a bandage over it.
