New club rule effective today, only one way touching during lap dances
I'm still a fairly new dancer, about a month in, and I found a club that I LOVE in Kansas City (shock, right?!). We had a meeting yesterday and all of us dancers voted to no longer allow touching by the customer in our lap dance room. We do no floor dances, our lap dances are $25 a song, and then we have our 1/2 hour and hour VIPs. We did this to hopefully beable to sell more VIPs.
Who else has clubs set up like this? Any tips you can share regarding this specific set up? I finally started having real success selling lap dances and no we're switching it all up, which I know has the potential to make us more money long term.
Also, what is the most effective way to transition existing customers that will normally come in and get 2-5 dances? Our 1/2 hours start at $300, so that is still a big jump from coming in and spending 50-100 to at least 300.

I wish them luck putting that genie back into the bottle.
When selling the more expensive packages, you have to take more time with your customer on the front end. He isn't just going to spend triple his usual SC budget without a little convincing first. Be upfront with your customer about what the rules are exactly, and how much everything costs.
When a club makes a move like this, they usually have a mid-priced package as well. Ask management if you can sell shorter VIP shows with contact, such as 3/$100. Otherwise, cranking out a bunch of $25 dances is going to be hard on your body, but the $300 shows are going to be hard to sell to a clientele trained to buy $25 2-way contact dances. Good luck and keep us posted on what happens.

Seriously... best of luck to you. My old club did a similar sort of "beneficial to the dancers" move (raising VIP prices from $25 to $40)... and literally all the guys went to new clubs. Word got around on TUSCL and they had to switch back to $25 within a week. If less than doubling prices was enough to do that to them, I can only imagine how difficult it would be to a) triple what they have to spend (assuming each guy gets $100 of dances normally) and b) make them commit their $300 to one girl for a full half hour, instead of being able to switch girls after 2-3 songs.
That said, building a LOT of rapport up front is going to be the new game, since you now have to convince them that you are worth the $300 and time commitment. Other than having a longer hustle, I'd make sure you look like you are worth the money as well (nice outfits, full makeup, etc).
I think a move like this COULD be beneficial (in fact, I wish my entire state would do this simultaneously and raise the value of dances back to $20 a song!) but it won't work if there is any other club within probably a 20 mile radius that DOES allow touching for $25/song. It's unfortunately economics... somebody's always gonna offer more for less.

You probably just cut your own throats and income! Contact is a key in making the big money!

Well you and your coworkers voted for the change so you will have to make it work.
I actually don't think this is bad at all because at least you can still touch the customer and don't have to worry about disrespectful customers with wandering hands.
It may be hard for regular customers at first but they'll eventually get used to it. If your club is the only one in the area then they have no choice.
I've danced for several customers mostly out of towners or newbie clubbers who didn't touch me or even ask they just kept their hands to their side. Pretty cool if you ask me.
Allowing customers their ability to Touch is a benefit that should be an upsell
Hope it works out for you.

Thanks for all the input. So far I don't think it's really effected our lap dances negatively, I haven't gotten any grief from anyone when I've informed them of the rule change, and I sold an hour Tuesday night from a guy that typically just comes in to get 6-8 dances. It was worth it to him to spend the extra money.
