There will be a FREE Providers-only Self Defense Class/Workshop this Friday (November 14th) from 12-1:30.
This event isn't open to the public, but you're welcome to pass the word on to anyone you're *sure* is working in the biz (dancers, escorts/providers, sensual massage, cam, etc.) Feel free to bring trusted friends. No creepy randoms, please.)
11/15 (Saturday)
On Saturday (November 15th), 7-10 pm at the Zeitgeist, SWOP-NOLA and will be co-sponsoring a FREE! screening of "," a totally 80s movie about women working at an escort agency.
From what I understand, it's not terrible, but it's totally different from the way escorts/providers work now. , the director, will be there for a question/answer session after the film. and .

Last but not least: Transgender Day of Remembrance is Nov 20th!! So, on Monday, November 17th from 7-9 pm, there will be a Benefit show for at on Bourbon, for /Trans Day of Celebration. We thought this would be a good way to observe TDOR and support an awesome local org at the same time, so several of us will be there in the audience.
This year they wanted to do something celebratory rather than something somber (hence the "Trans Day of Celebration" title). Suggested donation is $10.
BreakOut is a local org run by LGBT youth in New Orleans. Basically, they fight back against NOPD, who disproportionately (and unfairly) target LGBT young people for arrest (for prostitution and other charges).Out of all of us working in the biz, transgender sex workers are most likely to be the victims of physical/sexual assault or murder. If this is a cause you care about, you should attend. If it's not a cause you really care about, you should come anyway because these kids are awesome and they put on a good show. and the .
