Click to check the boxes next to each resolution you want to be available. Click on the resolution numbers to highlight the resolution you want to set as a default, and the lower left button will activate, reading "Set to [whatever you picked]." Click that button, and it will change your default resolution. Select "OK" and "OK."
Now right click the taskbar tray icon again > mouse over "Source Resolution: [whatever your resolution is currently]" > You will see a list of all the resolutions you checkmarked in the previous step > Ignore the fact that one resolution might be in bold - the one with the dot next to it is the resolution that is currently active > Click on whatever resolution you would like to use (I'm partial to 1280x720 - it doesn't matter if your VerySoft resolution is higher than you actually want to use on your sites, as long as it's not lower.) > Hooray! Your resolution should now be correct, and in my experience, it will stay on whatever resolution you chose until you manually change it again.
