Re: Livin' tha DREAM, bro!
It was hilarious and sad at the same time. He's clearly addicted and needs help. He's gone to rehab but walked out. He's gonna be on a very nasty spiral until he lets somebody help him drop the addictions. I was watching it thinking he is the cheeriest yet most fatalistic homeless dude I've ever seen.
Re: Livin' tha DREAM, bro!
I knew a guy who did this to survive when he was a teenager (he was orphaned, so it's not like it was his fault.) However life turned him into into a psychopath- that and lot of drugs too.
I hope this kid gets straightened out.

That's awful. It only takes one horrific moment to make people snap. I read that Madonna did something similar and was attacked by some douchebag.
I would love to believe he and the women are protecting themselves but...

Re- Madonna- was this when she was young in NYC & she got attacked? I could see how a period of couch surfing could expose a woman to an assault.
That's precisely why a lot of people couldn't do what this low rent gigolo kid is doing- it's just to stressful to have such upheaval in one's life & be at the mercy of others all the time.
Another true story- some teenaged kid panhandled me at the downtown Los Angeles Greyhound bus station once- I could tell he was full of shit but I gave him some money. He reminded me of my half-brother and I hoped he would use some of the cash to go eat.
IMO- it's possible to live this lifestyle when young, but it gets more dangerous as one ages. I have a dear friend who is part of the crust punk scene & I always worry about her hitchhiking and hanging out with sketchy people....honestly a boring day job & shitty apartment can be less stress than being homeless.

She mentioned it back in the 90s but I believe shesaid she was staying with the guy as she was settling into NYC.

When it gets really cold that's going to hurt really bad. I know that's when most would head down to Tampa or the Keys.

I have a few buddies like this but glorified through what they do.
One's from Australia, fun, good looking, and super charming. I've never see him without a very good looking woman with him. He just likes having no responsibility and loves partying. Granted he pitches in when asked and he's young but I always feel he could take a bad turn one day, like a lot of my friends did with similar lifestyles.
Masking and fronting is a dangerous road to take. Hopefully the kid in the video realizes as time passes, getting back into the real world gets harder and harder because your youth can't save you anymore. Working on he dependents on alcohol especially.
Re: Livin' tha DREAM, bro!
that's what my son's father does.. or did. at the ripe old age of 27 he has lost all his teeth and looks old and hardened from drug addiction. i think he has since realized that his looks have faded and now he's attached himself to one girl as his main cash cow since nobody else is going to find a toothless deadbeat father of two with no job attractive. so it may work while these idiots are young, but soon after the sugar mamma's will dry up.

He's probably spending a major on his addiction(s) and NYC isn't cheap.
Re: Livin' tha DREAM, bro!
Go yell at people and fuck girls. Doesn't look like too many were interested. I smell B.S. he does not look like he has a drug problem and he's chunky. I bet he still lives at his moms and pretends to be homeless for attention and I get a not straight vibe.
Re: Livin' tha DREAM, bro!
I knew a "stripper" who used this MO (grifting/couchsurfing) to both enable her drug habit AND kick up to her pimp when he demanded. It's sad but I figure she taught a lot of people valuable life lessons...lol
Re: Livin' tha DREAM, bro!
I just don't buy this dude. I think he's full of crap. He's probably really some frat boy who does still live at home with his parents.
