Can you get one night jobs and other general info
Okay so I've been considering becoming an exotic dancer except I want to make sure I know all the general info. So I was wondering you don't have a contract or anything at a club they hire you at right? So if you traveled a lot and never knew in too much advance exactly where you'd be could you find a club and walk in and audition just for one or a couple nights? I would probably be moving around the country quite a bit so would it be possible to easily get one night jobs at clubs?
Also how did you start learning to dance? How should I learn? Do stage dances typically have poles stationed on them or is it mainly floor work? I know you don't need to know pole tricks to do better than other girls but should you at least know how to do some things on a pole? Basically what should I start learning and how/where should I go to learn?
And I've been wondering about the different type of clubs. I do not feel comfortable getting completely unclothed starting out as a dancer and I'd like to at least keep panties on at all jobs. Are there clubs where you can stay clothed like bikini kind of coverage? And keep the clothing for VIP dances. And how common are those kind of clubs?
i do have a concern about body scars as well. If you have scars on your body that look like self harm scars like thighs and arms does that get you disqualified everywhere? I would try to cover them when possible or just put makeup over it but it's a concern for me
Last question is what exactly goes on in an audition? Do you do one song for management or? What all do you have to do to get hired? And what should I wear? A bikini like outfit? Normal street clothes?
Ive read a lot of posts on here but any other general information you think I should know please share.
Thank you!

[email protected] thats a lot of questions!
Club rules vary so its best to call and ask if they have auditions and what you need to bring. If you are serious about then focus on getting an audition and then getting hired first. Then, most of what is learned (aside from managers giving you the rundown of how the club works and what you can/cannot do) is on the job training.
You can also search the forum and find helpful tips that way too.
Re: Can you get one night jobs and other general info
Most smaller clubs are okay with dancers who only work a few nights. Bigger clubs with a higher demand tend to want dancers to be loyal.
I learned everything on the job. The fact that I already had rhythm and a background in dancing helped. I'd say most stages have poles and knowing a few spins, inverts, and how to climb can definitely help you draw attention whilst on stage.
If you work at a pastie/bikini club then you'll be required to be covered with a full bottom (no thongs) and either a bikini top or liquid latex covering your nipples.
The audition process is different for every club so make sure you call ahead to find out everything. But basically you go up there looking sexy (tight jeans, nice top, heels, your hair and make up done perfectly) and you dance on stage as if you're working. You'll change into your work outfit and they'll tell you how many songs, what to take off and when, etc.
Re: Can you get one night jobs and other general info
My 'club research process' each time I'm in a new area is as follows:
-Go online & Google 'strip clubs [your city or whatever city you're thinking of working in]'
-Go thru the search results one by one. You will find names & links for each club, & from there you can research each club individually to find out whether it is topless, nude, bikini, whatever. TUSCL reviews are also helpful, albeit in a stomach-churning way if you're a clean dancer, since they often list reviews based on 'how much mileage Dancer X gives for how much $$'. TUSCL is the kind of resource you use to figure out clubs you will probably want to avoid.
-List each club you want to try, along w/ their address & phone number. Go to each one as a customer first, & don't necessarily tell them when you arrive that you're thinking of working there. Going as a customer will let you see everything from dress codes, stage/dance/VIP setup, music & clientele, to how security & other staff work & how they interact w/ the dancers. Get a dance or two from different girls, & if you take more than a song or two of a dancer's time asking her questions abt what it's like to work there, either pay her for the time she's spending w/ you or get a dance.
-Don't rule out a visit to a nude club, even if you aren't planning on working in one (whether ever or just not yet). Pop in for 20min if there is one in your area, just to see how they roll. I used to say myself that I couldn't handle a nude club, bc I thought there was just too much that could go wrong, but if it's a question of safety, keep in mind that the dancer dress code is not what determines how safe a club is to work in.
- After narrowing down your choices further by experiencing the clubs as a customer, then you can give the clubs a call to ask abt their audition process. Every club is different, as you will find when you put 'audition process' in the search tool on this site. Read thru sm of those threads b4 you actually go to the audition, there are TONS of stories on here abt this part bc this question is asked All. The. Time. Also search 'audition interview' to learn how to treat the audition process like the mutual interview that it is. This will also be the time to ask how they feel abt you working only a few nites here&there, or only working for a month or three since you're planning on moving.
- Make use of the tools provided by this site. The search tool is your friend, no matter how long you've been in the industry. Look thru the Club Reviews, Club Chat & Hustle Hut sections in particular.
Re: Can you get one night jobs and other general info
There are clubs that will let you drop in and dance a few nights. It's best to know where you're traveling in advance so you can find out specifics in that city/town.
For example, where I am from, the bigger clubs here you can work just one night or however many you want, come in whatever time you wish (as long as management doesn't hire you for dayshift only) while the smaller clubs rather have the girls on a schedule.
Also, from what I've learned on here, some clubs require bookings so I don't think those are the kinds of clubs you can just pop in and expect to work.
Also you may be required to get licensed in certain areas. There is a great post on that in Club Chat.
As for dancing, just get some 6" heels and start moving around your home in them to get used to them. Polework is not required
Re: Can you get one night jobs and other general info
If you are in a major city, you should be able to find a club that will let you audition and work on the same day. You increase your odds of getting hired on the spot if you go in during day shift, as most clubs have issues finding enough girls to work before 5pm.
If you are just wishing to try out dancing to see if it is for you, look around for amateur contests in your area. This will give you the opportunity to get into the club, see the dressing room, meet the manager and customers without committing to a schedule.
