Hit a rough patch, very discouraged. Need to find a better club in PDX
I don't know what it is. Maybe it's the slow season, maybe it's just me, but I have consistently been going home with less than $100 a night for the last two weeks. I usually earn anywhere from $200-400 on a weekday, $600-800 on weekends. I am a minor (under 21) and work in a 21+ club. It is harder to make money, but not as hard as people make it out to be. I worked at an 18+ club for a while, but quit because it sucked, and that club has since gone under. I am just having so much trouble making money, and it's frustrating because I have so many bills to pay. Maybe it's the fact that Thanksgiving just passed? But somehow, I doubt it, because the other minors working seem to have no problem making money. I work, I talk to people, I do well on stage, I am enthusiastic and optimistic even when I feel like smacking everyone in the face, I am not sitting on my phone my entire shift, but still, no luck. I need to do something about this, and fast. I love the club I work at now, but just need to pick up something a little different for the season. Does anyone know of any minor friendly clubs in Portland, OR? (PDX) Suggestions and advice are very much appreciated. Thanks.

Here is my advice to you. When you make a lot of money ... SAVE IT!!! Every single $200 - $400 shift you should be saving %100 percent of your earnings. If you really make that kind of money, you are already making more money than all of the women who work 40 hrs weekly at minimum wage. Dancer earnings are ALWAYS unpredictable. Get used to it and start saving, that way you CAN pay your bills. Don't waste your money on any ridiculous dancer crap either. Keep it in perspective, as a dancer you are making much much more money and working much less hours than all of the hard working minimum wage women.
