Travel-dancing in New Orleans
I'm a dancer in Portland with 5 years experience and I'm travel-dancing for the first time ever this month! I booked a trip to New Orleans with my bestie (also a dancer) and we're looking at clubs in the French Quarter to apply to. We are looking for a clean club where we can make good money and that will hire two attractive, tattooed girls for a 4 day stretch with potential to visit regularly. Our top choices right now are Hustler (can't find their contact info for dancers though!) and Barely Legal, which might end up being our best bet because we know a girl who travels there frequently to work. Visions looks like a cool club too but seems much further from the tourist areas. We got turned down by Penthouse for being too tattooed (we are not "heavily" tattooed but, being from Portland, each have feminine sleeves and a few other tattoos). Any advice, recommendations, and info on clubs where money is good for travelers would be VERY appreciated.

Re: Travel-dancing in New Orleans
I'd say Barely Legal or Deja Vu. If you can get into Hustler. More power to you. They are picky as hell.

Re: Travel-dancing in New Orleans
I worked at Hustler and can verify, it is difficult to get in. If you're heavily tattooed, you have to be in perfect shape. They are very fussy about girls' weight there. I'm being honest but if you are over a size 6, I wouldn't even try it. Penthouse does not accept ANY tattoos, nor does Rick's Cabaret. So already, you're exiled from the top 3 clubs in the FQ.
Deja Vu can be good but they are going through some major management changes. Barely Legal I would say is like mini Hustler, but easy to get into, so I'd try there. Stay OUT AND AWAY AWAY AWAY from Lipstixx, Temptations, Stilettos, Babes, and Centerfolds. They're all very dirty, lots of extras and hideous girls. Rick's Saloon is ok, but is very poorly managed, it's not a gross club but there isn't a large amount of money there, it's very slow.
Visions is a whore house. I have a lot of freaky stories from there and the clientele is not very high echelon. A co-worker of mine worked there and said she walked out of nearly every dance she gave because the men expected so much.
All in all, DV or Barely Legal are your best options.

Re: Travel-dancing in New Orleans
There are girls with tats at penthouse and Ricks. I've worked at both and ricks has gotten really lax. I was there for superbowl with another stripperwebber and there were tons of girls with tats and lots of them . One girl barbie who works there looks like a barbie with black hair is loaded with them.

I was turned away from Penthouse specifically for tattoos eight months ago, by Miller, and I only have one large and four small tattoos, all easily concealed.. I was also told by a manager at Rick's that if the EXISTING girls have tattoos, it's fine, but they are not hiring any new, heavily tattooed girls.

Re: Travel-dancing in New Orleans
Well I haven't been at penthouse in a while and my gf and I don't have tattoos but I just spoke with george about coming back since Greg is gone and asked if anything was new. He didn't say anything. all I can tell you is when Seirra and I were there last year there was tons of girls with tattoos. also didn't you use to work there?

Re: Travel-dancing in New Orleans
(George and Greg were at Rick's )
When I first started working there, they used to make me cover my tattoos. Small tattoos. I've seen more tattoos working at Penthouse. .
These 2 are top earning potential in NoLa but they are probably the most selective when hiring.
Hustler, Barely Legal, Babes the Rick's Saloon would be my next choices.
Deja Vu for Tuesday night - though I have yet to try that one
I agree stay away from Lipstixx and Stilettos!!! Score's and Temptations are the most $$ potential but if you can get hired elsewhere, I'd stay away. And Centerfold's is owned by the same Guy and his clubs are NOT SAFE.

Re: Travel-dancing in New Orleans
^ when were you there last? Last year there were tons of tats at ricks. I also just spoke to my gf who is working at Ricks right now and there are lots of girls with tats. She said they just hired 3 girls from Georgia with tats. I remember lots of tats at penthouse too but I haven't worked there in 2 years. I did work at the Baton Rouge one last dec( owned by chuck as well) ad there were tons of girls with tats. Nola is weird i think depending on who's working since it seems every year there are new mangers they make up the rules as they go....

Re: Travel-dancing in New Orleans
The last time I was there was a few months after Superbowl when the money dried up for the summer

Re: Travel-dancing in New Orleans
When I first started working there and had to cover my tats was 7-8 years ago

Briefly, in 2010, and only because the manager at the time was friends with my SO at the time. He let me work there as a favour.

Re: Travel-dancing in New Orleans
I should have worked at BL when I had the chance. That was a fun place.

Re: Travel-dancing in New Orleans
^ Your funny. You can always go back. Sugar bowl is coming. I haven't checked the dates as I've been to lazy since I broke my wrist but my gf was calling me to come there when I got back from my last trip.

Re: Travel-dancing in New Orleans
It's Jan 1. I was there for it the year before last and new years and did good both trips( the year before I worked new years at Hustler and it sucked). It should be good since both that and new years colide this year. It's super expensive but if you book now and priceline it it shouldn't be bad. I think my gf and I paid 700 each for flight and hotel for 10 days during that time.

I might. Ever since Atlantic City my wings were clipped and broken. I've been staying mostly stateside with occasional "raids" to neighboring clubs.

Re: Travel-dancing in New Orleans
Does anyone know if that female mngr at Barely Legal "Libby" is still there or not? I'd love to go back if she's not there anymore.

Yup, basically if you're over a size 6 she'll tell you you're too fat and fire you. However one of my best friend's fiance is a manager there, he's super sweet and if you're serious about going there I could put in a word for you.

Ok. I rarely say this but you are gorgeous! I mean literally drop dead gorgeous. You don't look overly big in pics. I'm dumbfounded you have issues. Especially with the blonde wig. Do you go into clubs all dolled up?

As far as new Orleans and tats go, I never had any issues as far as tats go. I also never tried anywhere like penthouse or Ricks.
You don't need to work at a "top club" there to make money though, bourbon st. Is a busy place.
Spot on. I would never try a top tier place because I know I'm not top tier material and that's ok. One needs to have realistic expectations in this industry. Yu'll drive yoursel insane if you don't.

Ya I figured as much LoL. Also when I was there briefly , there was a gal working there that resembled me alot when I wore my dark hair & she was super bitchy towards me due to the fact that her regular wanted to spend $$ on me & I'm assuming possibly got me confused with her. Well it pissed her off & I think she went & talked shit to Libby about me bc that night I was fired. I got hired by the day shift mngr Andy (he was a complete sweetheart) an even told me he knew I'd do well there. Guys were buying several dances from me until she came in for her shift & I had to leave. I won't go back unless she's gone.

Thanks Michelle <3 Yes I def get super dolled up when going in to audition at places. I even wear a tight black form fitting dress w/ high heeled boots to most if not ALL my auditions & it usually helps alot. I know I'm not in the best "stripper" shape body wise right now but my face & smooth eloquence usually lands me a job anywhere. I don't ever take off the dress during the audition process if I don't have to bc I like hiding my tummy. I don't have stretch marks or anything like that but I feel better not exposing it unless I'm doing a VIP. I really appreciate the compliments girls :) I guess it just depends on the day & time of year with most places I've struck out in but I refuse to give up! I know there is something for everyone out there. I also usually aim for mid tier to lower tier places to try at bc I know better than to try a high tier club that is looking for non tatted tanorexics or skinnier girls.
