Windows 8.1 and the Encoder won't work together: SOLVED
I tried both versions of the Encoder and different mics on a Win 8.1 laptop, but it can't detect any of the audio devices. Both the laptop's internal mic and the cam speakerphone work just fine with other applications and when I stream directly without the encoder, but when I try the encoder, I get this:
Attachment 39916Attachment 39917
The application says that there are no audio capture devices attached and the dropout list is empty.
If there are any 8.1 users here - what do you do to make it work?
Re: Windows 8.1 and the Encoder won't work together! Help!
I just got a new windows 8.1 desktop that I am setting up to cam on, From what I've found out so far is that you have to make sure each item you are installing on your windows 8 is in right format meaning 32-bit or 64-bit. with everything you install on it.
To find out if you have 64-bit, 64x-bit or 32-but you need to go your my computer properties. I am sure there is a video on youtube somewhere to show you how to get that information.
Re: Windows 8.1 and the Encoder won't work together! Help!
Mine's x64, but neither the Encoder nor the software by Logitech seem to have the diversification. I also tried running both in the Win7 compatibility mode but it didn't help. THe only answer I got on the Adobe forum so far is "chillax the last version it runs on is Win7" lol.
Re: Windows 8.1 and the Encoder won't work together! Help!
Try uninstalling both encoders, then delete the hidden files - if you don't know how to do it- google it, restart your computer and download the encoder again.
Re: Windows 8.1 and the Encoder won't work together! Help!
if all fails then you might have to restore your computer to factory settings.
It's working for me on my new system and I thought it wouldn't from reading everything on here and for me i am using the dazzle video capture usb, and encorder 3.1 it seems to work. once I got the 64 bit driver installed from dazzle.

I think that's what I'm gonna do next. From what I found out the encoder is in conflict either with the system itself or the preinstalled software (e.g. there was a streaming/encoding application I uninstalled prior to getting the Encoder, but guess it still might be the issue).
UPD: the problem solved by resetting to factory settings (i.e. the clean system+the basic set of drivers) and installing the Encoder before anything else (even before the cam drivers).
