I am a Transexual Post-Op working at your club?
[COLOR=#333333][FONT=Verdana]So I work at straight strip clubs in LA and Vegas. Pretty liberal cities. How do you think girls will react if they found out. I am very passable but I think maybe some girls or bouncers might ponder it at times but they are respectful and keep it professional. You think this will be a problem?
Re: I am a Transexual Post-Op working at your club?
I am a pre-operative Transsexual and I would tell you that no one has to know because it's no one's business. You don't need to bring it up. The club hired you because you are qualified and they saw something special in you. If it ever comes up all you can do is own it and be proud of it. People always respond well to people who are confident and sure of who they are.
Re: I am a Transexual Post-Op working at your club?
I wouldn't care and it wouldn't bother me if I worked with you. I only care about your character as a person, but it's really no one's business but yours and it's up to you to disclose that info about yourself. I like to keep my personal life private. Only one other dancer at my club knows my real name or anything personal about me. I just don't share my private life with people who haven't earned my trust....and a lot of dancers I work with are on drugs and/or do extras itc. They're not exactly the type of people I want to share my life with.
Re: I am a Transexual Post-Op working at your club?
I would never own up to it tho....i feel it would bring poblems and managemet might not like it. But it deff was a cofidence boost that they didnt know
Re: I am a Transexual Post-Op working at your club?
I don't want to know -- only bc I really have zero interest in coworkers' personal lives.
Basically as long as other dancers aren't hooking & aren't looking to cause me trouble, I have no trouble w/ any of them. Don't really care either way abt the state of anyone's 'bits'
Re: I am a Transexual Post-Op working at your club?
I wouldn't care and I doubt any of the other girls would either. But I'd stick up for you if anything ever went ugly in the dressing room. You're a woman same as the rest and if you're a nice girl I'll have your back.
Re: I am a Transexual Post-Op working at your club?
I wouldn't care. But you never know with other strippers and staff like you mentioned. Some things that some strippers do make no sense to me, like shaming sex workers in other lines of work, etc. Or just personal beliefs that 'don't mesh' with work such as stripping. But, they're all entitled to their opinions and its no one's business to know. And if I worked with one I would have never known.
Re: I am a Transexual Post-Op working at your club?
I hope this doesn't sound terrible to you, but if anyone gossips I'd deny, deny, deny. You don't want to run the risk of ignorant, bigoted coworkers launching a smear campaign against you around ignorant, bigoted customers. And if you are very attractive, you may become a target anyway because you're competition.
But if you can pass with management and customers, I highly doubt any rumors would gain traction if someone even started one in the first place. Congrats on your transition and good luck!
Re: I am a Transexual Post-Op working at your club?
I wouldn't care and if anyone ever tried to mess you with you I'd definitely defend you or take whatever course of action you were most comfortable with (denying it or owning it w.e u want).
Re: I am a Transexual Post-Op working at your club?
I personally don't care but I'd keep that to yourself. I've discovered strippers can be VERY transphobic. You'd think in an already stigmatized industry we'd have some compassion. Nope.
So yeah unless you can cam, keep your personal life under lock and key. This business is very cutthroat.
Re: I am a Transexual Post-Op working at your club?
I think that would be a very bad idea. Once one person knows, everyone will know, every regular will know, and then every customer that comes in will know. Dancers AND regulars gossip to customers. How many typical straight male customers are going to want to be anywhere near a transexual? Not many. I think it will hurt your business a lot more than help.
Re: I am a Transexual Post-Op working at your club?
^Yeah definitely would deny any 'claims' in this case. The other strippers would surely like to gossip if any of them found out. Better to trust none of them in the business.

Like I said they do things that don't make sense to me. Makes me miss the industry even less.
Re: I am a Transexual Post-Op working at your club?
Absolutely no-one else's business! If girls start gossiping or talking shit and you feel uncomfortable flat out lying there's ways around telling the truth (I'm terrible at lying but brilliant at avoiding questions I don't want to answer). Tell them they're being childish and petty and point out how flat out rude and disrespectful it is for them to be spreading rumours like that (until you confirm, it's a rumour).
As far as I'm concerned your gender is whatever you identify with and feels right to you. Sucks that you were born into the wrong body but good on you for fixing that! So what you used to have a penis, you've always been a woman!
Re: I am a Transexual Post-Op working at your club?
OP I'm proud that you have the courage to come forward but the violence against transgender people is NO joke. Before I left Albuquerque I had a friend who was a trans escort murdered and tossed in an alley. Please do not put your life in jeopardy. It's a shame but unfortunately the way things are.

Once found someone tossed in a dumpster behind cotton wood. pretty sure she was an escort too from the clothes I DO NOT miss that city in the slightest, so glad to escape the land of entrapment
Anyway I know of more than a few full op gals who have taken up pretty decent jobs dancing, granted all in cities already well known to be less caring about such petty notations. ( and yeah Im a t-girl myself and can attest that we get hit on just as much so take pride, but caution is still needed since- people are weird and snap when anything in their mind is different.
