Hello from Belgium - advice on EU strip clubs? Also body types.
Hiya,
I'm Maria and I'm 25. I'm new to stripping - actually, I'm a complete rookie. I've tried camming but I'm too scared of being outed. I tried submitting applications for strippers within the EU on several of those fishy websites with standard sign-up forms; one of them asked for pictures, I sent some, haven't heard of them since (which was a month ago.) The other applications have been too recently submitted to be giving up hope so far, I think. I'd love to go stripping in a European night club, but I have no idea where to start. I've been thinking of travelling to London and trying some of the clubs near Leicester Square as they are being heralded as "close to the city centre so you won't have to be that creep down the alley" and accessible to women in the form of either an open policy or ladies' nights. I'd love to try an amateur night somewhere sometime, though, so I'll really know if it's something I could rally myself behind or not.
Should I try Brussels though? Quite close, easy to travel to by train from where I live, and most clubs have websites through which I can figure out which ones are shady and which ones I could feel at ease in. I'm wondering about my chances of being outed, mainly. Belgium's a small country, and from what I've read, I figure it's hard enough in America as it is staying anonymous.
Also my pear-shaped body might be a problem for most clubs (my nutritionist told me it'd be impossible for me to get an hourglass figure unless I get surgery), I don't know if this is a big issue in stripperland? I figure I'll be too shy to just go to the warden and ask if I can audition; imagine what it'll be like in clubs that find me fat. How helpful is it to do some prospection?
Thanks :-)
Re: Hello from Belgium - advice on EU strip clubs? Also body types.
Personally, I'd start with Brussels. London is a tough city to dance in, especially for a newbie, and you don't want to get all the way over there, spend money on travel/accommodations, only to find out that you either can't get hired or don't like dancing. Start close to home and get comfortable dancing before you go on any trips dependent on it.
As for your body --- I mean, it's less about the shape and more about the size and how you carry it. The vast majority of dancers aren't hourglass shapes, I'd say, so your pear shape in itself isn't a problem. None of us can predict whether or not you will get hired, so all you can do is just audition and hope for the best! Even prospection -- I assume you mean visiting the club and seeing if there are other ladies your size -- isn't necessarily useful since you won't see everyone that's been hired.
Good luck!

Antwerpen has a much bigger strip club scene than Brussels. There are around 7 or more clubs near the central train station so you could take a trip over there and check them out in person.

Yeah I wouldn't really go to London. It's really hard and cut throat, especially as a newbie. Not to mention the housefees are ridiculous there.
I haven't heard anything about the clubs in Brussels but I have heard that the clubs in Antwerp are good. They also have a daily salary so at least you will earn something, rather than having to make money to cover your housefee and travel expenses in London before you've even made a profit.
Regarding your body, a lot of the clubs in Europe you can just send in a pic of yourself so if they say no you haven't really lost anything. We obviously dont know what you look like so I'd just send pics to a few clubs and see the response you get.

Thank you all so much. I'll check out the clubs in Antwerp :-) if there are any clubs I like, I'll write down some names & think of a letter to write.
Good point about the ladies hired & not being able to see everyone. I've read a thing or two about "good shifts" and "bad shifts" on here.
Also you're right, with 7 clubs around the central train station alone getting recognized by anyone I know will be hard. What are the odds, huh?

Thank you, everyone, for the welcome and the advice. I applied for jobs in Antwerp (apparently Dorsia, a stylish night club near the central station, is hiring) and Mikkeli, Finland, apart from the forms I sent. (I was already learning Finnish, no house fee, accommodation charge €7/night so no expensive lodgings to be sought, three-month contract, and far enough from where I live and from where my brother and sister-in-law live.) Anyway, thank you so much :-) you already taught me not to apply for jobs in places that charge house fees as a beginner, to apply somewhere you already know a thing or two about, and for the rest of it, just give it a try, I might get hired :-)
*deep bow*
Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Had a reply from Dorsia; "they are not interested." Ummm ok. I know I'm cute but not drop dead gorgeous like the girls they display on their website, so I'm not offended.
Edit: update: Late Night Mikkeli E-mailed me to tell me they would like to have some more information. Which means they aren't dismissing my application from the very beginning. Hmmmmmm.

Hi Hun, I know this is a bit of an old post but incase you are still wondering...
I worked in Antwerp in November last year in a club called Myoo. It's a "clean" club with no sex or dodgy stuff. The only thing is you have to let guys lick a tiny dollop of whipped cream off your nipples on stage for tips which, if you are ok with that is a GREAT way to make tips! I personally didn't mind but other girls are not comfortable with it - it's all personal choice.. I don't know if this is a weird suggestion but is it possible fr you to pm me the picture you are sending them and I can tell you honestly if it's holding you back? If it makes you more comfortable I can pm you the pictures I normally send clubs as well.. I don't get a no very often - only if they are full. Also another avenue is to go through a booking agent. A lot of the time clubs don't bother replying because they are being inundated with offers from booking agents. I have emailed pics to clubs before (Myoo infact) and not had a reply and then told my agent that I want to go to that same club and been accepted the very next day. Let me know if you need any help with your picture or if you would like me to get you in touch with my agent.
Tiffany xx

Tiffany: my picture was holding me back. I took classes till a few days ago and if I can set up an act of about 15mins, a private party company will hire me. I don't have a proper, better picture yet (partly due to my startup as a fashion designer, and partly due to my lack of picture inspiration), but I'm sure I will get to take one in the near future.
Thank you for suggesting Dreams in Norway :-) I will certainly have a look.

Yes your pictures are everything. They will make or break your job applications. You need flattering pictures which are edited just enough to make you look flawless but not so much that you look like a supermodel and turn up for work looking like a different person. And always keep them recent, have a shoot done every year or two years if you don't change your look much. I normally send a professional full body shot in lingerie and also a very recent lightly edited selfie of my face (not too close up!!) taken on my iPhone so that they can see that I am not a photoshopped beauty from another life. Good luck x
