Personal tattoo questions
Hello everyone..:) I'll be starting come spring time...and am SO thankful I came across this site ahead of time. It's insanely helpful for a newb like me. Anyhow I was wondering how some of you girls either brush off certain questions or straight up lie regarding personal tattoos. Mh daughters name is largely scripted across my ribs so I'll inevitably be asked about it, all the time. I've never lied about having a daughter but I'm wondering how to best handle it at the club. I'm thinking I'll either be honest about it or lie and say it's in memory of a (made up) friend... But then I wonder, how will customers react to the fact I have a kid?
Any advice would be appreciated!!
Re: Personal tattoo questions
I think this is a 'less is more' situation as far as how you answer.
When ppl have asked if I have a kid, it kinda depends on my mood. I don't have any ink related to him, but sm times I would say no & simply re-direct the conversation, or say not anymore & they usually realise by my demeanour that I don't have a kid anymore bc he died. Either way they leave it alone after that. I only had one customer get obnoxious after realising what I meant, & his mates put him swiftly in his place w/o me having to say anything.
I do have a memorial piece for an ex. It's his initals, in the Iranian(1st) Russian(middle) & Gaelic (last) alphabets bc that was his ancestry, & my nickname for him in my mother tongue. It got a lot of attention bc 4 /languages represented in one piece is so unusual. But even w/ the sobering revelation that it's a memorial, the multi-lingual details sparked curiosity & let me direct the conversation to lighter/more interesting discussion & often dances.
In both situations, I was honest but kept the 'buzzkilling' details to a minimum or omitted them entirely. It's kind of a 'Please pass the salt' moment, you don't want to distract them w/ your personal life, so just keep it brief & change the subj. I would just say, truth or not, keep your answer consistent.
Re: Personal tattoo questions
"Do I look like a fucking mural? I'm not going to stand here for free so you can look at me!"
"I got it because I wanted it."
"It's Latin for 'Fuck you pay me'."
Or better yet I tell them to STFU and give me money for a couch dance. They can ask all they want back there.
Re: Personal tattoo questions
Thanks for your response girl. I'm def taking in the distraction and consistency tip. As I've read in other posts, it seems some girls change the responses based on the type of customer they're working with. I'd personally find it easier to stick with one persona, one set of premeditated answers!
Re: Personal tattoo questions
There's nothing wrong w/ 'tailoring' responses to the individual customer, in fact that ability will increase your ability to sell! I just advise against it when it comes to 'personal info' answers, things like where you're from, whatever backstory you develop for yourself, etc. A possible exception to this might be your marital status, & there's plenty of threads on here abt how to deal w/ the 'Are you single/married?' bs. Remember, no one said your answers need to be the truth.
Re: Personal tattoo questions
My favorite retort was from last night. I have a unicursal hexagram on my right thigh that has gotten me mistaken for being either Jewish or a satanist. Nothing wrong with either. a female customer asked "Do you worship Satan?" Me: "No, honey. Satan worships ME!"
Re: Personal tattoo questions
It's not uncommon for dancers to have kids, so I don't think you have to worry about being honest about it if it makes you more comfortable. That said, you don't owe your customers your life story, so you can also just tell them it's a friend or who ever the fuck you want. As Aniela pointed out, you can tailor your response to the customer. If they have kids, maybe that's something you can bond over. If it's a young guy, maybe it's best to make it a friend.
Re: Personal tattoo questions
True... I've just been over thinking the whole tattoo/daughter thing. Thanks!
Re: Personal tattoo questions
I can totally understand not wanting to talk about your family at work. Dermablend will cover it if you want to cover it up to avoid annoying questions. Or, just saying "it's a tribute tattoo" will shut most people up-it's common, personal and they are there to have fun and not talk about something of that nature. If you don't want them to know that you have a daughter, or talk about her in that environment then you don't have to admit what the tattoo means. The club lighting and tan will make it less noticeable and you probably won't have to worry as much about it as you are anticipating.

Re: Personal tattoo questions
Last night some cheap douchebag was asking where I got my tattoos. I was in a mood so I said "Oh my boyfriend did them out of his basement. He learned to tattoo in prison."
The shop I go to is right by my house so I don't want weirdos poking around there.
Anyway OP I personally don't like talking about my child to strangers but I don't think customers care if you have a kid. The few times I've talked about my son it didn't prevent me from selling dances or rooms. It's really your call. BUT be prepared to be asked 20 more annoying questions..."How old? Boy or girl? Where's the dad?" Ugh....Yeah I would just go with the memorial idea.
Re: Personal tattoo questions
I second that they will probably let it go if you say "it's a tribute tattoo" and if they persist, say you'd rather not talk about it.
I have one on my shoulder that's a lyric written in cursive... so they are always asking "What's that say? Oh, what does THAT mean?". I've taken to just saying "Don't ask, it's a long story" and most of the time they leave it be. Sometimes if I'm in a bad mood, I'll say "What, you can't read cursive/understand English?" and they nearly always shut up then.
Of course, there is always at least one guy that's gotta say "Oh so you were drunk huh?", so be prepared for that.
Re: Personal tattoo questions
This is such an interesting thread: I don't have kids but I do have my ex boyfriend's initials in the closest thing to mandarin I could imagine, right above my gorgeous pussy ...so; I have always lied and says it means "bad kitty" or some other elaborate background story. I guess it depends on the tatt and your dancer persona; but I think you want to have a story that will derail from your real life and also make you more interesting to the custys
Re: Personal tattoo questions
I make a game out of it. You will get asked constantly about your tattoos because a lot of customers have no idea how to start a conversation with a stripper (or, probably, anyone else for that matter). I have a default tattoo story that has nothing to do with how/why I got my tattoo, but it is easy and buys into the stripper stereotype. (I fall back on the "I got drunk in Mexico a few years ago and got this tattoo on a lark." Since I only have one small tattoo, this works pretty well.) If I'm feeling particularly creative, I'll make up a different story about the tattoo to every person who asks.
Honestly, the customers don't give a shit about your tattoos. They just want you to pay attention to them, and asking about the tattoo as a way of getting your attention.
If a customer asks you about your tattoo, this means he's interested in you. Start working on getting him into VIP or at least buying a dance or two. :)
