Anyone Live with a Roommate who doesn't know You Cam? (or pso)-advice please
I'm going to have to be a roommate in someone's place until I can come up with the money to get an apt. of my own. (I just paid Jan rent at my place, (close to 2 thousand), paid utilities, etc...so not much is left. Places in the state I live in require 3x the rent if you have bad credit). Places are usually more than $1400 per month. I am considering moving to a part of the state where rent is cheaper, so that's my plan.
I used to do a freelance 'vanilla' job, which I've been using as my profession..(I Still have my business cards). Problem with that is that it requires me to be out of the house most of the day.
I'm not comfortable saying that I work at home, because in the 3 months I've said that to potential roomies, they denied me(they must have wanted someone who is gone a lot).
My question is----if your roomie doesn't know u cam/pso, how do u do it? With pso, I could go to the park, or be out running errands, etc.
Do u cam with no sound? Cam when the person isn't home, etc?
Also, Where do u hide ur toys? In a locked box? I might not be able to put a lock on the room I'm going to be renting.
Thanks in advance for any and all suggestions.:-*

Re: Anyone Live with a Roommate who doesn't know You Cam? (or pso)-advice please
When I used to have a roommate, I just tell them I do hair. I just cam without sound so it's never been a problem. I know they know I cam but I never mentioned it. It's none of their business. Now, if you plan to use audio I feel it's best to let them know.
Your toys should be in YOUR room. Get a lock on your door if you feel more comfortable.

Re: Anyone Live with a Roommate who doesn't know You Cam? (or pso)-advice please
I have 3 roommates right now, but it is easy to get by without them knowing. The space I rent is living space that was converted from the garage, so my room is way on the other end of the house from their rooms. the kitchen, dining room and living room is on the end closer to where I stay so I do have to be careful if they are going to be in and out of those areas. If I cam during times they are home, I won't use much sound at all except for playing music and doing some vanilla talk in free chat on SM, and I say I can do very light sexual talk and sounds in private only. So far I have found a lot of guys like it, they think its hot that I have a chance of getting caught by one of my 3 male roommates that don't know I'm a naughty girl, lol. I even go a little extreme and tell stories in free chat that my roommates think I'm a virgin and this really good girl, lol, the guys eat it up :)
For my independent shows, I explain to guys that seem serious in paying that I have to keep sound very low and if its ok to play soft music in the back (when I play soft music in the back I put my phone on Pandora by my door). most guys are ok with it. There have been a few customers I have lost over it cause they want me to get loud and I have to tell them no, that I just can't risk it. I actually feel very safe around my roommates and don't think they would try anything, they have been really cool guys so far and haven't given off any kind of creepy vibes at all, but still not going to risk it. They think I am a freelance web designer and technician, which is true because I also do that on the side some and know plenty enough about it that I highly doubt they question whether I'm telling the truth or not.

I do know of a studio in Southern California I don't know exactly whereyou are but I can pm it to you, I don't know what sites they work for though. Also I once posted in the wanted roommates section on CL and said I was a Camgirl etc and I was upfront. I requested girls only or other adult workers or strippers. I actually got quite a few responses .i even found another CamGirl ! But anyways I have a place of my own now.. Also you can rent out a business spot just say your a writer or something else. Also detached rooms are awesome you could soundproof them.

Re: Anyone Live with a Roommate who doesn't know You Cam? (or pso)-advice please
I need to try to soundproof mine, it will be easy. My walls are made of cinder blocks, so that is already good soundproofing, the only sound that goes into the house is from my door. If I'm playing music I can usually hear it when I'm in the dining room which is attached directly to my room so I need to look into how to soundproof it.
Also, for your toys and stuff, you do need to make sure you get a room that locks, there is no way they should know or have any business going in your room if you aren't there. That would be invasion of privacy. I only have a few toys and I keep them in my dresser along with any outfits I have that I use for work.

Re: Anyone Live with a Roommate who doesn't know You Cam? (or pso)-advice please
^^ I use fans very loud fans..lol.. I know new fans now have the "no noise technology " but I luckly have older fans that are super loud. I also use the overhead fan on the stove put that to the highest.literally anything worth making white. Noise.. Also the bathroom air conditioner .. I have all of these running even though I don't have roommates I still am a lil paranoid about neighbors etc.. Since I'm in a city all the houses are very close together.

Re: Anyone Live with a Roommate who doesn't know You Cam? (or pso)-advice please
I have a heater in my room that makes white noise, I'll freeze in here right now putting some loud fans in here lol. I think I might just get one of those soundproof mats they make and try that over my door.

Re: Anyone Live with a Roommate who doesn't know You Cam? (or pso)-advice please
I oddly enough have one of those loud fans! Great suggestion. Ur right about saying i have roommates and must be quiet. I tested that out a few weeks ago
And they loved it!

Re: Anyone Live with a Roommate who doesn't know You Cam? (or pso)-advice please
Was in a similar situation. For years I alternated between camming without sound and saying that I had to be quiet because of my living situation. It didn't effect my income nor did it make it hard to get pvts. The only thing is now that I can use sound I can't stand to type like I hate, hate, hate typing now. It makes me want to scream when guys say "I don't have/can't use sound. Can you type?".

Re: Anyone Live with a Roommate who doesn't know You Cam? (or pso)-advice please
Girrrrrrl, I am the opposite! I'm on my own so I'm free to use audio but I hate it. I only type unless they MUST want to hear my beautiful voice. I find the guys that want audio tend to be bossy, demanding and really making you "work" for it. My shows with audio never last longer than five minutes.

Argh, this is me. I cammed with no/low sound for quite a while, but now that I've gotten used to talking out loud it drives me crazy to have to type things, etc. BUT if your roommates are home and you don't want them figuring out what you're doing then that's the best option.

I'm the same way. Even when I can use audio I just say my roommates are home even when they aren't cause I don't want to waste my breath talking to all these jackasses in free chat, I would rather save my talking energy for someone who takes me private, and even then keep it minimal.

Re: Anyone Live with a Roommate who doesn't know You Cam? (or pso)-advice please
Save your breath and saliva so no audio in free chat. I just love the ones that ask for audio but when I say in private, they'd leave. Then why the fuck do you want audio for???

Re: Anyone Live with a Roommate who doesn't know You Cam? (or pso)-advice please
Yeah when they ask about audio (When ive cammed late at night and didnt want to disturb neighbors), i wouuld also say in prvt. When they left i thought it was because they wanted free dirty talk.

Re: Anyone Live with a Roommate who doesn't know You Cam? (or pso)-advice please
I cam with roommates and none of them know after six months. I'm naturally relatively loud, but I'm very quiet on cam. Guys actually like it and tell me my quiet voice is sexy. I keep a fan on for white noise and don't do much riding. If someone asks me to scream, I tell them I've got roommates and they either understand or I kick them out.
There's no way I could cam without sound, because I get the most money from fetishes and dirty talk guys who want to hear my voice, but it's worth a shot.
I seriously hate camming with roommates though. Mine are rude and aren't quiet even when they're aware I'm working (even though they don't know what it is I do). Thankfully, knowing work schedules saves me. Still can't wait to get my own place again though.

Re: Anyone Live with a Roommate who doesn't know You Cam? (or pso)-advice please
I'm camming from a friend of a friend's place right now. It's super annoying. I have to work around her schedule. Sometimes she's on days and sometimes nights. But I can't work nights because her man is home then. I have a pt vanilla job. It's soooooooo incredibly frustrating to not be able to do what I have to do to make $$$ to get the fuck out of here. I feel trapped. I can't tell them what I do and they are starting to think I am lazy and just don't want to work when really I'm just waiting for them to leave. The other problem is I stay in the back bedroom. So I never quite know when he's coming home during the day. So often I have to quit cam earlier than I have to. I mean 3-4 hours early just to stay on the safe side of things. He's a really mean bastard too. He would love to have something to hold over my head. At this point I have -0- $$$ to go anywhere and I have pets. I was even thinking about looking for a studio, but I make so little as it is I just can't wrap my head around giving away more %. BUT I do make enough when I can work when I want to make it better than working another vanilla job. Plus doing this work I don't want to be in the public where some guy might think it's cool to recognize me.
I can't cam without sound. Guys love my dirty talk. I've been trying to figure out ways out of this nightmare. Even as far as considering living in a van. But I can't figure out how I'd even get the $$$ for that. Let alone how to keep me and the pets from freezing or dying from heat. Fuckity.

Re: Anyone Live with a Roommate who doesn't know You Cam? (or pso)-advice please
When I had a friend staying with me for a month, I told her straight up that I worked from home doing freelance writing.......and phone sex. She'd have the tv on while I worked, or I'd have my music on in my room, so she never heard anything.
You say you stay in the back bedroom..not sure how big their place is but maybe try to put a towel under the door or like someone earlier said, put your phone on Pandora and leave it playing by the door if that's possible?
-
Re: Anyone Live with a Roommate who doesn't know You Cam? (or pso)-advice please
I live with a roommate and our bedrooms are kinda across from each other, there's a bathroom in between buffering us. I put a towel under the door and play music sometimes. I usually don't have trouble with it. When guys ask me to moan loud or scream, I just say my roommate is sleeping.
-
Re: Anyone Live with a Roommate who doesn't know You Cam? (or pso)-advice please
Unfortunately the living room is right by the bedroom I use. It's just a hot mess. I know for a fact the radio and towel by the door won't solve this one.

Re: Anyone Live with a Roommate who doesn't know You Cam? (or pso)-advice please
Ugh So I'm renting out the actual living room on this couple's futon & I'm getting ready to start camming. I have curtains up mostly & need one more to have all privacy from their eyes. They're def 9-5ers during the week which is awesome that I can work from home while their away & I'm assuming it'll have to be without audio bc they also don't have a clue as to what I do. I lied & said market research consultant at move in. I've been barely able to even take cam profile pictures bc they've both pretty much been here all fucking day coz it's Sat. Anyone have any ideas how I can get away with this since I'll be doing dirty shows including squirt shows?

Re: Anyone Live with a Roommate who doesn't know You Cam? (or pso)-advice please
All fans now are so quiet. I use one as white noise when I sleep. When my old one died I couldn't find one loud enough!
As for soundproofing those blankets that movers use, the ones that cover furniture and electronics are supposed to be a REALLY good way of dampening sounds. They are generally cheaper than those sound proofing tiles you can get. You can order them online, I can't look it up now but if you look for moving supplies you should be able to find them!

ACK! That sounds impossibly difficult :( I don't have any tips but wish you luck!
I do live in a house with roommates, The couple upstairs, his dad in the basement, and then another older guy across the hall LOL full house for sure! But eceryone pretty much stays to themselves and we all keep odd hours. The only thing I have to wory about is keeping my voice down (because I can be and would rather be LOUD lol) -- I usualy play the TV and turn on the AC to try to drown out my voice. I'm not sure if anyone has heard me talking or not...but if they have they aren't saying anything and that's just fine with me. (Plus they all already know I work at a porn store so hearing me talk about dildos most likely wouldn't shock them)...It's not a bad situation for camming but I'm certainly hoping for better, and to move into our own place soon. Extra money from camming will be going towards that! (I live in a really expensive city, so it aint easy) :(
