Re: FemmyCycle Menstrual Cup
LOL I have been planning to buy this one, sitting in cart saved for later. :D I go on travels a lot, so it will save my soul when I really need to go!

Since it has been brought up, I should ask for some of y'all's opinion. I wonder which device I should buy for my mother and my mother in law (both are in 60s).. I am on the fence between pStyle and Freshette. Which one is best and probably easier for ladies over 60s on the travel to five countries in the Europe?

I no long have ANY issues at all with it. I can still do penetration shows with it (I've even had sex with it multiple times without any problems) I just make sure it has been emptied before hand. I hadn't heard cups help with shorter periods, but I have had lighter and shorter periods after using the cup for a couple years now. I have no experience with any other products except tampons, so my opinion is a bit lopsided. I will chime in and say I also clean mine in peroxide, but never had issues for infections before I started soaking it or since.
I can't wait to read the reviews here for the femmy... it looks really cool!
No way! I love my divacup! I've just had it for a while and could use a new one so I thought I'd try something different. The only complaint I have with the diva cup is sometimes I have trouble getting it in deep enough...so I'm hoping with the new low cervix version of FemmyCycle it will help with that issue :)
Re: FemmyCycle Menstrual Cup
I found the name of my current cup and it is Femmecup. I actually like it better than Divacup, because it is a bit softer. Even the stem is softer and I did not have to trim any at all. With Divacup, I had to cut the stem off. It is based in the UK. So, for some of you from the UK, I recommend this cup over Divacup. My only problem with it is the holes are a bit lower than the Divacup and it means I have to empty it sooner than I normally do with Divacup on my first day of heavy flow. I still prefer it over Divacup, though.

Which one you found looks more serious, and thinking true better i may get that one too. Even airplane toilet is horrible, after if you have to use a train toilet. I like this one more.
Re: FemmyCycle Menstrual Cup
I like that the femmycycle is sold in pairs, so that if you're in a public restroom and can't wash your cup, you can just use the second one.
The listing I saw on Amazon only looks to be selling single cups for the same price (??), so I might buy it directly from femmycycle's website.
Re: FemmyCycle Menstrual Cup
Do those cups hurt to put in and take out..? I'm a virgin
Re: FemmyCycle Menstrual Cup
^^ I used the Keeper when I was much younger and a virgin. If you can get two fingers up your vag, you can use any of the menstrual cups no problem.

Yes. If you can use a tampon, you can use a menstrual cup (there HAS to be a better name for these things!!).
The only reason it might feel a bit uncomfortable for virgins (I've been there) is if you don't have much practice with tightening and relaxing the muscles in your vagina. If you're very anxious / nervous about inserting it, and you tighten up, then it'll feel like you're forcing something that can't be forced. But if you chill, remind yourself that it isn't a big deal (it really is just like inserting a tampon, just a bit more up-close and personal), and consciously relax your vaginal muscles, you'll be fine!
Re: FemmyCycle Menstrual Cup
Kinda off topic, but have any of you tried talking to your doctor about taking your birth control all the time? No seven day break, I mean. I've done this for ages, under my doctor's and pharmacist's instructions, and not having a period is the BEST choice I have ever made. The doctors told me that it should have absolutely no affect on my ability to conceive later, if I want. I take a pregnancy test every few months, just in case, but I have never had an issue. It means I can, comfortably, cam whenever I want! :) Please, please, please talk to your doctor before you try it, but it's worth looking into :)
Re: FemmyCycle Menstrual Cup
I knew a girl, who used to stop her period like that. But personaly im against those pills, this is a syntetic hormons and they may cause bad side effects.
Re: FemmyCycle Menstrual Cup
I used to be on depo shots and my periods stopped and I stayed on it for few years. I had some complications from the shots. So, no pills for me!

I tried this once (but was told by my doctor that I should still stop and have my period at least once every 4 months), but I spotted ALL the time when I skipped periods. It was worse than having a period because I had to deal with blood popping up whenever it felt like it, which was a LOT. So I stopped trying to stop my periods after that lol.
Re: FemmyCycle Menstrual Cup
SPEAKING OF WHICH... I've been trying to find a place to ask this for forever but where do you bring something like this up haha. I've been thinking about getting a Mirena IUD but as I said earlier in the thread, I usually deal with my period by pushing tampons up against my cervix while I'm working. I know the Mirena totally stops periods for many women but I can't count on that. I've never been in a position to feel IUD strings myself so I'm having trouble determining if this is going to be a problem (if the strings could get caught in the tampon/tampon string.) My gyno doesn't know what I do so they'd probably just tell me to wear a tampon like a normal person. Anyone who's had an IUD, is this something you would be concerned about? If so, what about sea sponges? Any experience in this bizarrely specific matter would be greatly appreciated.
Re: FemmyCycle Menstrual Cup
Once i forgot a seaspoonge inside for almost 2 weeks, and i felt something wrong...i felt like mood swings, after i felt something is dripping out of me and horribleeee smelll, like you cant ever imagine how it smels and better even not to try. I used to take a bath and i guess sponge inside absorbed some water and it spoiled(ugh) inside me. Once i used a tampoon, but those lil fucks i dunno how they turn up side down inside me, and ofc i worked with a dildo and tampon went somewhere deepp...ugh i had a couple of panic attacks while i fished it out. I feel not really comfortable to put fingers inside my pussy, ugh.
But beside that once forgoten seaspoonge, i like them by the way. I dont like tampons they dry me way to much. And when i imagine that cotton was bleached with clorox and i will put that inside my body and it will really contact wi my skin...ofc if tampon made of a real cotton.....when i touch them they are crispy like some polyester so who knows what are they made of.
Re: FemmyCycle Menstrual Cup
There needs to be something like tongs to be made for vaginas for accidents with tampons or whatever.
Re: FemmyCycle Menstrual Cup
IUD and Sponges- iv'e never had an issue :) My last pelvic I was told that the string had been pushed up behind the cervix, which is a non-issue until I get it removed. In which case it may require more than a GP to remove it but I would likely go specialist anyway.
Re: FemmyCycle Menstrual Cup
I use the pstyle for hiking & camping & love it.
I also use sea sponges but I don't think you're supposed to pee with them in. Everyone I talked to about them says they just fill up with urine & then leak. I've found the same. They're just fluffier & more absorbant than tampons. Tampons don't cover my urethra but the sponge does. That's actually the only part about sponges I find annoying- having to take them out to pee.
The Diva cup was a painful, messy nightmare for me. But I might try one of these new cups. Thanks.
Re: FemmyCycle Menstrual Cup
^ I remove and rinse sponge after I pee.
Re: FemmyCycle Menstrual Cup
Sometimes that does help get them out if they're a little stuck. Seems the weight of the extra liquid makes them easier, if messier, to pull out.
Re: FemmyCycle Menstrual Cup
Using a disposable glove can help if you're struggling to grasp onto a tampon string / menstrual cup / IUD string, etc. You can buy them at Walgreens, WalMart, Target, etc. Super cheap. They're useful for tons of other stuff, too (such as when you're cleaning and want to protect your hands from chemicals or avoid ruining your manicure). Good to have around.
Re: FemmyCycle Menstrual Cup
Interesting Thing. I use a Lunette. But testing for the night. I don't have much experiences with that, but i hope it works for me. Right now, on night i don't have problems. But if i work, i use a Tampon or a softtampon.
I have in the last 1,5 Years perhaps 5 accidents on cam. But all of it, was very funny. No problems, i laugh and say, i come back in 5 minutes. No problem for the guys. They come back. If you have a accident, laugh about it. Humour is the best!
Perhaps this thing it's a great way to cam with that. I think about it to buy in the next time to testing.
