I know a few people who run airbnbs and they offer free room and board for a couple hours of work a day (like cleaning and greeting new guests). I would totally do it but none that I know of will let me bring my cat.

This is a great idea! I just started a blog about 1910s - 1930s fashion, hair etc. and was gonna do video tutorials on there, didn't think of putting them on a monetized YouTube channel as well!
This is the blog in case anyone's interested! www.lady-is-a-vamp.blogspot.co.uk
So gonna do some travel and review vids as well! Thanks!
Ladies I love love love this thread. Ok so I'm about to start travelling. First stop USA then Chile. So may as well film some clips. Where do you recommend I post these to start to monetise?. Sorry girls, bit new to all this ;-)
RE teaching english:
I'm just about to do that. I am doing my TEFL with International TEFL Academy who is highly reputable. ( I should know because English lang business is full of shonk operators and I used to manage very high level institutions in my country of origin and pass reputable organisations and flunk/close the dodgy ones). Their website is deep and full of information that is free and available so it will answer most of your questions. With regards to education, as every back packer teaches english, the more quals you have will stand you out from the pack and increase your rates. Really only South Korea and UAE where you can make money and save - rest is just break even. I have an MBA, a Grad Cert in teaching and doing my TEFL now with International TEFL Academy. This will allow me to break even in Chile to 'practice' my skills in that market. When I have gotten up my skills I will head to South Korea to teach and save. http://www.internationalteflacademy.com/

I know I've mentioned it before in a different thread, but I ABSOLUTELY LOVE that blog...even more than RatRaceRebellion. Anna lists TONS of jobs, and she even gives you specific details about every single one of them (what they pay, frequency of pay, etc.). I'm constantly browsing it.
I currently work on an organic farm and I've done the wwoof program in the past. In the winter I only work 1 day a week on the farm but in the summer I work 2-3 days a week and cam the rest of the time. I wwoofed at a farm on Maui w/ a friend for two months and had a really good time. We only had to work 3 hours a day Monday-Friday and had weekends off. We shared a small room that was built onto the employee kitchen. We could help ourselves to veggies on the farm, but had to buy the rest of our groceries in town.
I know a lot of people who started working on a farm through wwoof but now have a permanent position there. They don't make money for their labor, but they get free housing and the rest of their time can be used however they want. Its totally possible to cam while wwoofing, you'd just have to chat with the farmers before you go and make sure they have a good internet connection. The farmers that housed me didn't have internet at all, but were really respectful about privacy. I hope some of you ladies look into it!
Oh, I forgot to mention if you have a thrift store near you, you can look into buying and re-selling on the internet. I've only recently gotten into it but it's a nice way to make side money. Especially if thrifting is something you actually enjoy. Oh and maybe work for Uber if you like driving? I'm not sure how much drivers make but I'm always seeing advertisements where I live to "work for Uber" lol.

If you live in a city with a college go to thrift stores around the college area... Look for newer edition textbooks! I've found textbooks for $1 at goodwill and sold them for $60+ Look for textbooks on craigslist sell them on amazon/ebay/book buy back sites.. Bookscouter.com is good to compare buyback site prices... Sometimes it's good to just sell it back to one of those sites so you don't have to deal with amazon/ebay fees. For book hunting I don't really recommend any book scanner apps just google the isbn with your phone (I search on amazon, check the sales rank if you plan on selling it on amazon...under 100k sales rank it will sell really fast, under 300k in a week or so... Higher the sales rank less often it sells.. You don't want to buy a whole bunch of books that seem profitable if they all have a sales rank of a million... Although I sometimes do. I have held onto niche books I have bought for 50 cents for 2 years and sold them for $20+)
Some nonfiction niche books sell for a lot on amazon .. You may have to sit on them awhile but buy a book for $1, sell for $15 in a month? I'll take that all day
If you have the patience post an ad on craigslist saying you take free books and are willing to pick up. Once a girl met me in park lot gave me 2 boxes of books... I made $400 off of them. She just wanted to get rid of them. Asked me why l wanted them I told her I sell the ones worth $, keep the ones I want, and donate the rest... She was fine with it. Another time I took 8 boxes of books from a guys garage.. Made a few hundred from them...
There's definitely money out there to be made reselling if you hustle... And we all know how to hustle :)
I make enough that if I don't want to cam I don't need to. If I'm not sourcing new product I make enough to be happy. Sometimes I'll find something awesome and make a lot more. Sometimes I'll find something with a crazy high profit margin or something with little to no competition, after awhile usually competition will find the high margin to and price war the profit out of it. My products are relatively low priced.. I sell 20 items or so a day.
They key to making money on amazon without fba is winning "the buy box"which you get through good metrics, good feedback etc..basically you can sell things at high price because your item is added to thier cart when they press "add to cart" rather than looking through all 3rd party listings ... with fba you don't need that.. You can sell items for more simply because you are selling to amazon prime customers who are willing to pay more for amazon to handle the transaction/shipping.
Feel free to pm me.. I'll answer all your questions to the best of my ability :) I dot really want to put numbers on an open forum but I don't mind sharing what I make in pm
^ Wow, awesome idea! Thanks for the recommendations! I live in a huge college town and I'm right down the street from Goodwill, so I'm really glad you suggested it. :)
Ads^^
^^I always wondered that too---Can You expand a bit on that please? More specifically, how does one make money from ads? And do we have to approach the advertisers?
Thanks
You sign up for something called ad sense....just click a button that says "monetize". Then you click the $ symbol next to each video you want to allow ads on. You can choose from different types of ads that play before or during the video. You get paid for every ad that plays. I make money on there, but I often wonder how much a viral video makes? I've heard numbers up to $150,000....those people ended up selling merchandise though since their video was so huge. That's a nice chunk of change.
Re: Making money from ads/blogs...making money selling your books...those are also opportunities Anna mentions in the Real Ways to Earn Money Online blog I linked above. I know, I know. You guys are gonna get sick of hearing me mentioning this blog so much. Lol. It has a really good search function too, on the top right hand corner of the page.
Sammii also mentioned Uber. That blog has info on a work-from-home job doing 'email support with Uber'.
Before I started camming and before I lost my office job I had been looking into teaching english in thailand, and then hopefully south america. You take classes through TEFL and you don't need a degree to teach this is true, but you do need a degree in order to obtain a work visa which is why I never went through with it. I have also been interested in wwoofing, and would like to give it a try after I finish massage school. I also have dreams of volunteering in thailand in the orphanages or an elephant rehabilitation center. My heart is meant to travel and explore the world. I love this thread already :)
Exactly what Addison said, when you sign up for Adsense you get paid on views/clicks also no need to approach them if you popular YouTube guru they come to you, so all those makeup gurus make money on both ads and they get freebies .if they do a youtube vid on a makeup tutorial and you tell all your viewers which concealer you used there all going to buy it , so that's how they get a lot of freebies, they want you to promote there product because your popular, kinda like celebrities do
So when u sign with the ad sense, do they send your money via...paypal, checks, or ??
And you link the concealer you used in the info section with your amazon(or whatever affiliate link) Make money for each viewer that buys it and anything else through your link. Some webpages I have affiliate links on the customer buys something but nothing to do with what the review is about.... one time I did a hair straighter review and the person who clicked the link bought protein powder....lol. Amazon affilate links have a 24hr(atleast maybe 48hr) cookie that stays on their computer, so if they click your affiliate link and a few hours go to amazon and buy something else you still get credit for it

Ive always done checks, not sure what other options are available. Minimum payout is $100
Work at home jobs such as Leapforce and Lionbridge-you make your own schedule and rate search engine results. I work for lionbridge.com right now and I like it. Only bad part is you have to take and pass a test, which I studied for for about 10 hours, before you qualify. You do not get paid for doing this. It's worth it though! I love being able to make my own schedule. Also, modeling jobs from modelmayhem.com, stripping, and escorting can be good jobs if you like making your own schedule.
Baking or soap making are good for extra money on side from home. Craigslist and facebook are good place to do the marketing. If your neighborhood has a community newsletter, adversite in it too! The neighbors love to get next door cookies or soaps. My husband is a baker and he did some works on side from home and we get nice chunk of money for gourment desserts/pastries.
Oh and soaps seem do well on Amazon, etsy, and eBay. You can make a large batch and try sell to all three places!
Phone Sex
Texting/Sexting
Start a home based business (Cleaning, pet grooming, dog walking, etc)
Sewing/Etsy
Virtual Assistant
Great ideas on here everyone!! thx--can always count on gals to share your secrets for extra money or if you are looking into other things.
xoxo
I had an etsy store for a bit. I stopped it once I got too busy with other jobs. I do have a hobby now.of reselling thrift store finds. Mistky though that's just to feed my thrift store habit. If you're looking to travel cruise lines are a way to go too. You don't have to pay for food or board and can save a ton of money up. I'm looking to get on that once I have more years under my belt as a fitness instructor.
