Blogger policy changes update
If you've got a blogger site, you've probably gotten this email, but I thought I'd share it here just in case anyone missed it and to offer discussion about alternatives.

Dear Blogger User,
We're writing to tell you about an upcoming change to the Blogger Content Policy that may affect your account.
In the coming weeks, we'll no longer allow blogs that contain sexually explicit or graphic nude images or video. We'll still allow nudity presented in artistic, educational, documentary, or scientific contexts, or where there are other substantial benefits to the public from not taking action on the content.
The new policy will go into effect on the 23rd of March 2015. After this policy goes into effect, Google will restrict access to any blog identified as being in violation of our revised policy. No content will be deleted, but only blog authors and those with whom they have expressly shared the blog will be able to see the content we've made private.
Our records indicate that your account may be affected by this policy change. Please refrain from creating new content that would violate this policy. Also, we ask that you make any necessary changes to your existing blog to comply as soon as possible, so that you won't experience any interruptions in service. You may also choose to create an archive of your content via Google Takeout (
https://www.google.com/settings/takeout/custom/blogger).
For more information, please read here (
https://support.google.com/blogger?p=policy_update).
Sincerely,
The Blogger Team
This is a policy change from their previous policy that adult sites were OK, but you couldn't monetize off of them (no links to adult sites), so this is just the last step to being completely adult unfriendly.
So what are the alternatives?
Free blogs/websites:
Tumblr. I highly recommend this option if you like blogging and social media. It's a lot like twitter in the social sense and the fact that you can gain followers and "reblog" posts and such, but it's also got a lot of flexibility to be used as a main website. You can add pages and links and make it look just like a regular website and there's tons of themes to customize it. You can also flag your blog as adult (or NSFW) which is awesome. The only drawback is they block links to some sites, like MFC (unless they've fixed that, let me know if I'm wrong about that) but you can still type out the URL it just won't be clickable.
Wix. I don't have much experience with wix, but it seems to be pretty cool as an easy and free website tool. From what I can gather, it's adult friendly and I think the editor is WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) so it's good for beginners.
Model Centro. I'm sure most of us are familiar with Model Centro (AKA Adult Centro) and there's a great thread about it here: https://www.stripperweb.com/forum/sh...-makes-it-easy
I think MC is an amazing tool for having your own adult site with built in membership and payment capabilities. They're always adding new features and they really listen to our suggestions.
That's about all that I can think of at the moment for free alternatives. If you want to spend some money to have your own domain and host your own site to do whatever you want with, I recommend hosting with Arvixe. The reason for this is that they're adult friendly, inexpensive, and you get your domain free for life as long as you have the hosting package. If you click the "Adult Friendly Web Hosting" link in my siggy I get a commission for referring you (full disclosure of course). But I don't just recommend it because of that, I really do use Arvixe for all my web hosting. Just make sure to get Linux hosting, not Windows, because Windows servers don't like to play nice with WordPress and some other programs.
Anyways, sorry for the super long post, I just wanted to offer some insight to alternatives in case any of you were left stranded by Blogger today. Feel free to offer your own suggestions or questions here. :D
Re: Blogger policy changes update
Ah, you beat me to it. It brings their policy in line with age restricted content. I figure Wix, Tumblr, Twitter etc will all follow suit soon. I have the adult part of my site with Model Centro...those guys are awesome!
Re: Blogger policy changes update
Yeah, Yahoo acquired Tumblr a while back and tried to get rid of the adult content, but that didn't go over too well. I don't think there's any stopping the pr0n on tumblr anytime soon ;)
Re: Blogger policy changes update
I got it too. I use my blogger for my camming bookmarks only at the moment. Will that be affected?
Re: Blogger policy changes update
I did get that email but I haven't used my blogger for years. I logged in after requesting a password reset as I had forgoten it. I was horrified to find my blogger linked to my googlemail account. I only ever use my Yahoo addy for camming/work related stuff, my gmail account is private and for friends and family only! Forget what I said I have deleted it now lol phew

I'm not sure. It looks like they're cracking down on sites with adult images. Before, they were cracking down on adult links, so if your bookmark list has links to cam sites you may be affected. From what they said, they're not deleting affected blogs, but they're making them private so you wouldn't be able to share that page with us anymore unless you invited us specifically (I think, not sure how private blogs work). If I were you I would make sure that your stuff was backed up, maybe as a text document or something, so that you can easily copy/paste it somewhere else if needed.
Re: Blogger policy changes update
What pisses me off about this is that from the beginning they gave the ability to mark our blog as adults only. What was the point of that anyway?
I'm glad I didn't put too much time into my blogs.
I got banned from Vimeo too, not having any luck lately in marketing my things! lol oh well. I guess I'll stick with Twitter.
Re: Blogger policy changes update
Tumblr is also starting to crack down on sex worker blogs. Anything having to do with marketing, sales, etc. But weirdly enough they are leaving the etsy blogs alone... hm, imagine that.

Re: Blogger policy changes update
another option for chicas who don't want to purchase hosting, build a website etc is to create an on LCMS, as a place to direct clients and process payments. I actually just finished building the first multi-page unbranded page on the site, for a chica who uses blogger and got the head's up about the crackdown.
Re: Blogger policy changes update
Ok. Ugh. I have the file for the camming bookmarks on my desktop. Simple and basic html, so I won't have problem moving it to other page somewhere. I'm too sick to spend my energy trying to find a new home for it tonight. I will do it tomorrow.
Re: Blogger policy changes update
I don't think there's any rush, the policy doesn't go into effect until March 23. I hope you feel better soon!

Google has reversed a decision to ban sexually explicit images and porn from its Blogger service, only a few days after saying that all such content would be banned.
The company announced on Tuesday that users of the blogging service had a month to remove all “sexually explicit or graphic nude images or video” from their sites, or that they would be made private and available only for administrators. But after sustained criticism of the decision, the company has reversed it, deciding instead that such site’s will just be placed behind a warning page.
Now, only commercial porn will be banned on the site.

"The company will still uphold a ban on using Blogger to make money from adult content"
Still a bit of a gray area but I'm hoping I'm too small to be of concern

exactly :/ now it looks like blogger is in line with wordpress.com policy, which is that while adult material is permitted, monetizing that content isn't. that should mean that things like Winona's camming bookmarks site should be ok, but the types of sites we as cam chicas use to promote ourselves will be at risk of deletion.

Changes to the Blogger Porn Content Policy update
Dear Blogger User,
This week, you received an email telling you about some changes we were making to the Blogger Content Policy. In that email, we announced a change to Blogger's porn policy stating that blogs that distributed sexually explicit images or graphic nudity would be made private.
We've received lots of feedback about making a policy change that impacts longstanding blogs and the negative impact on individuals who post sexually explicit content to express their identities.
We appreciate the feedback. Instead of making this change, we will be maintaining our existing policies (
http://www.blogger.com/content.g).
What this means for your blog:
Commercial porn will continue to be prohibited.
If you have pornographic or sexually explicit content on your blog, you must turn on the adult content setting (
https://support.google.com/blogger/answer/86944?hl=en) so a warning will show.
If you don't have sexually explicit content on your blog and you're following the rest of the Blogger Content Policy (
http://www.blogger.com/content.g), you don't need to make any changes to your blog.
Thank you for your continued feedback,
The Blogger Team
I receive this email from blogger yesterday and it will not require to make sexual adult content as private for people on reading list to view. They will require all blogs with adult content to mark it with warning page to access it.
