Quitting camming for dancing?
Has anyone gone this route? With the city I live in and my body type, it would be FAR more lucrative to dance than cam. I can't stand the freeloaders anymore. At least with a club you have to pay money to get in, which keeps the horribly broke bitches out. Plus I live with roommates so it's difficult (impossible) to cam comfortably when they're hanging out in the living room or bring people over. Plus I just want to get out of the house....I live in NYC and I know dancing is hella competitive here, but sitting in a cam room where everyone sits there night after night, not tipping, not talking, insulting me, doing 5 minute privates, demanding, popping in and out over and over again...is killing my spirit. Like clockwork, as soon as I say hi people leave. EVERY TIME.
I know I'd make way more dancing even on a bad night than I would during my best nights on cam. I'd have money in hand ever night. I've been camming for a year and the learning curve and everything you have to keep up with is pushing me to the edge. I want to take the hustle skills I have and roll out.
Does anyone have experience with this? Did you like dancing or camming more...?
Re: Quitting camming for dancing?
Not trying to be rude or caty but this thread has been made a million times. There's alot of threads on Camming VS Dancing and vice versa. Anywho why not do both instead of trading in one for the other.
Re: Quitting camming for dancing?
OP, I know EXACTLY how you are feeling right now. EXACTLY!
I come from the stripping world, and I have always had a difficult time transitioning to camming. Not only with the trolls, timewasters, short prvts. etc, but having to wait for a check, instead of cash in hand.
I worked for a private party dance co. both in NYC, and In Cali, and I loved it!
I'm now too old, and also now a small BBW, so working in clubs in the city is out for me. I say, if you're hot, go for it!
You could always just cam when you feel like it, and I bet it would be more pleasant for you, since you have something else to fall back on, money wise.
Save your sanity. Youth, and life are way too short to be doing anything you don't like doing.
Best of luck.:-*
Re: Quitting camming for dancing?
Disclaimer - I've never stripped.
But I've heard a few things here, one - theres freeloaders in stripping also. They might pay to get in, but that's all they will pay sometimes. Two - dancing in NY can be suuuuper hard. Again, i don't know personally just read it here before.
You've been camming a year? When did you start? It's hard to make it though when it's slow, but unfortunately that's just how it gets sometimes. I know how you feel though, it's hard to not lose your mind when you sit there all night and people come in and out, sit there and don't say a word.
Re: Quitting camming for dancing?
Why not do both?!? I mean don't limit your income have two ways of getting money vs. one
And yes people in strip clubs freeload too. They also can be rude and insulting (if you listen to them). And with stripping most times you make money but it's possible like if there's no paying customers or your hustle is off then you can lose money by owing the club their house fee despite not making anything during a shift.

I like camming better. No one touches you, there's a ban hammer, and no commute.
Re: Quitting camming for dancing?
With the city I live in and my body type, it would be FAR more lucrative to dance than cam. <-----Not necessarily. Have you done it yet? I don't think you can accurately make a prediction for yourself unless you have done it. It is never a smart move to quit a current venture in hopes that the other one will work out. Try to do both for a while and get a good feel for it.
I can't stand the freeloaders anymore. At least with a club you have to pay money to get in, which keeps the horribly broke bitches out. <--- Logically, that should be the way it works. However a lot of guys think that because they pay a "cover charge" that they are entitled to something. You also need a good hustle and have fantastic negotiation skills.
Re: Quitting camming for dancing?
Also, it is very social, so if you like human interaction, and the commaradeie of other dancers, it can be a blast.
Re: Quitting camming for dancing?
I'm a dancer in NYC, never tried camming. Dancing here is super competitive... Depending on where you work, girls can be very catty. Hosts might expect large cuts of your money. Sometimes gross customers grab you/touch you. And since your house fee/tip outs must be paid no matter what, you can even walk out in the negative. That said, there are definite advantages to dancing. Try it out and see what you think. I can imagine the hustle is pretty similar:)
Re: Quitting camming for dancing?
Have you ever danced before? I'd definitely suggest trying it out before officially quitting camming. As you mentioned I've heard dancing in NYC can be pretty competitive.
I started out as a dancer, then switched to camming. For me there was far more money in camming but that was a few years ago. I don't make nearly the same amount of money camming as I used too unfortunately. If only my boyfriend was ok with me dancing I'd absolutely go back to it instead of camming. Money aside I would say that I actually enjoyed stripping more than camming. I miss the cash and I liked the personal interaction. There are no trolls since men don't have the balls to say something negative to your face that they so easily say online.
