Getting back on the camming horse?
I haven't cammed for the past 6 months or so because I've been struggling with depression and anxiety, and ironically the pressures of meeting my financial obligations made it even more difficult to get on cam because I just dreaded the possibility of having a bad day.
Now that my financial obligations (rent, bills etc.) are covered for the immediate future thanks to benefits, I'm wanting to try to ease my way back into camming so I can save for uni, pay back some debts and be able to afford a bit more than the basics.
I'm still struggling to just do it. The past couple of days, I've set up my camming space and done my hair and make-up, and still not been able to just log on.
Anyone have any advice for helping myself get over this mental block, beyond 'just do it'? :-\
Re: Getting back on the camming horse?
Ive noticed the days I wake up, eat breakfast, check emails while eating(30 mins) then get to what I need to get done first before taking "chill out time" I am a lot happier with myself and everything in general.
I like to workout. I dont just do it for looking good on cam I do it because it makes me feel better in every way. I like yoga especially. The mind set of yoga is peaceful and puts in perspective whats important. To me anyways.
Have goals for each week/month. Stick to them.
Dont beat yourself up if the day didnt go perfect/smoothly. Tomorrow you start over again, make it a good day, a happy day, accomplish what you want to accomplish and relax afterwards.
Read self help books, inspiring books and financial guidance.

Ditto. :)
Re: Getting back on the camming horse?
I've been there, and I always find the best thing for me is to set really really simple goals and slowly ramp up. At first it was just to get my makeup on, and if I didn't actually make it online, it was ok. After that it was to press start, it didn't matter if I logged off after 8 seconds, as long as I started. After that, stay on for one private session (for me that usually doesn't take too long, but you could always say first private or x minutes, whichever comes first). Of course, I normally exceeded my goals, because once you hit start, you feel so much better. But if I started the day knowing all I had to do was something really simple, I didn't feel too intimidated to try. Since you have some leeway with finances, this method would be a possibility for you.

Mirror talk. Talk to yourself, at first it will be weird but I swear to you it works. Tell yourself how beautiful, gorgeous, sexy and ravishing you are until you believe it. Knock those negative thoughts out. By doing this daily, you will see your self confidence rocket up as well as your earnings!
Also, read G.L. Lambert, "Ho-Tactics". That book will shoot your earnings up within hours. Only $8.99 for the ebook on amazon! http://tinyurl.com/l76wbct

Re: Getting back on the camming horse?
The best advice i have is stick to a schedule. It takes 21 days to build a habit . stick with with the schedule even when its slow. With me i break my time up.4 hours in the am and 2-4 hours at night. If the morning shift is slow ,the night shift makes up for it.Vice versa.

Why are you struggling to do it after you've gotten ready?
Why cant you turn on the cam and work?
Do you think the job is beneath you, scared you wont make money, worried you'll be caught, What specifically troubles you as the individual towards the job?
To me the answers read pretty across the board, not to say they cant help but you would get a more spot on answer to your issue if your a bit more specif.
Either ways it reads to me like your nervous or scared of failure. If Its failure, 1 pence is always worth more then 0 so right now you've failed by getting ready and not getting on ,getting on is only going to go up from 0, you cant do any worse. There are always ways to increase your income via cam but you get out what you put in,
you put in 0 effort you get 0 income.
But in general you will have a bad day, every single person on this forum has had a bad day, for some every day is a bad day. There is no escape, its a commission based job. If the pressure is honestly too much for you, do something different for extra income.
If its just nervousness, all your old free loaders will be happy to see you, they have been goggling non stop for free vids of you, so they are looking forward to this day.
And when in doubt 3 glasses of wine or 4 shot of bourbon or a blunt will chase the nerves right out.
Re: Getting back on the camming horse?
Just log on. I sometimes I have to yell at myself to log on. When I really get in a camming rut, I ask my partner to encourage me to get online more.
Re: Getting back on the camming horse?
It is a mind set.
No such thing as a bad day, because each day is a new day to perfect your hustle. If it is slow, log off & make videos to upsell & put on Vod sites. To make money is a mind set. Hyori is right, read "Ho Tactics" and then "The Secret".
If for now, you can't log on at least film 2 to 5 videos & work that angle. Get into the mindset & used to hustling everyday. I'm stubborn, I use it to my advantage. I make money no matter what, I don't let myself have any excuses.

Re: Getting back on the camming horse?
Thanks so much for all of your advice :)
I've written a list of tiny incremental goals and stuck it on my wall, all the way up from just staying logged in for 1 minute up until 5 hours. Also, I've downloaded 'Ho Tactics' onto my kindle. Any other book recommendations?
I'm also going to try to get myself into more of a healthy routine outside of camming. This should be a bit easier, since my partner recently got a job, so I'm going to have to find something to fill my time!
Re: Getting back on the camming horse?
Try "Laws of Attraction" and "The Secret" they changed my life for the better.
Before you log on telling yourself repeatedly "That is MY Money in their pockets". Even if there is one guy in free chat try to win him over into a sale, even if it is one dollar, see it as a fun challenge.
I used to hate freeloaders, now I see them as potential big spenders, that their money is mine, they just don't know it yet. All those girls doing cheap & free shows are doing me a favor, so I can get the money from those guys that they didn't.
Love, live & laugh.

Re: Getting back on the camming horse?
Update! I did 10 mins :) Doesn't sound like much, but I'm so freaking proud of myself. Not anxious at all. Actually, going to hop back on to a different site and give that a go because I know it's usually good at this time of night.
Re: Getting back on the camming horse?
I just look at is as not being an option. This is my 9-5, I log on like I have to go to work. Sometimes it sucks and I get frustrated but I try to remember that I couldn't just go home when I worked a vanilla job, and the worst night on cams is still the best day I ever had in corporate America :)

I feel like killing my husband when he "encourages" me to get online more.

I just want to let you know that I tried the one dollar hustle on a free loader who was telling me to stand up, I sweetly told him to tip me a dollar just to see if your theory would work, he immediately took me to exclusive after I stood up because I was so "nice" lol. You give great advice Sam because I usually just block the ones who come in demanding things!
Re: Getting back on the camming horse?
I took a hiatus myself recently. My bipolar depression symptoms were overwhelming me to the point that I couldn't even get on cam. But one night I logged on and stayed on long enough to make a private. Perhaps the money was motivation enough because I get on every night now, even if I feel like shit. Keep moving forward, love!
