Pressuring Adultwork for some changes?
Hi everyone,
AW has been my main site since I've started camming 2 years ago. And as you all know, it can use some innovative changes. I was thinking maybe if we start to e-mail them together they would take it seriously and consider some changes. One thing I can think of is a "notes" and ranking system for customers, like the one in SM. Maybe JCI can add a system where we can see if the people in our room have spent on us before, and add some notes next to their name.
Another thing would be a better "credits" screen where we can see our income weekly or per customer etc.
One more thing is a more prominent tipping option, including offline tip.
These things helps them as much as us, since it will increase our income.
Do you think this would be worth trying? Does anyone has more inside contact with AW?
Re: Pressuring Adultwork for some changes?
I think the reason why tipping really isn't pushed on AW is because there are a dozen other tip type sites which will start bringing in that same show tits for $0.10 crap that all other sites now have to endure due to the following behind MFC camstyle. I would not want AW to ever become like the other sites since they're one of the true last private sites left.
Another issue is that their bulk probably comes from escorts and bringing the cam cheap penny types to a site with escorts could mean far too many annoyances, failed bookings, scams, chargebacks and the like.
Once models start trying to make money on tips privates will be history as seen on many sites around. It just means everyone staves while a few people make bank on doing it then it will destroy the whole site set up.
So tips are nice but there I like getting my per min money and I rarely get some guy saying "hey I'll tip you for a flash" .
Re: Pressuring Adultwork for some changes?
Some girls link to the voucher screen where guys can send us a payment if they want to. It's like an offline tip but the voucher can only be used against AW services...useful though if you pay for featuring or buy things from the site.
AW did think about enabling us to see how many credits a customer had but decided against this as many look first, then get credits when they find the right girl for them.
Justcamit isn't owned by AW and it's not very often updated...you're thinking of a major software change.
One of AW's benefits is that it's not just another camsite, it is an "everything site" even if we only use the camming side.
Re: Pressuring Adultwork for some changes?
Yes I agree about tipping, but as long as tips are just to show appreciation, I don't think they would become a tip based website. But that was just an idea.
Re: Pressuring Adultwork for some changes?
Treat them like a business partner & email them why you want these changes & the benefit of them.
Or the other option, to sign up & cam on sites that do offer them. Even if you have been on there for 2 years, you don't owe them any loyalty.
Being loyal to a cam company unless you are stock holder is silly. In any business we out grow them or they out grow us. What was good for 2 years, may not be for the future. Moving on, is sometimes for the best.
Companies that don't try to be innovative eventually get replaced by the ones that do. Myspace was great & still exist, but now twitter is what converts for me. Ifriends was the original cam company & top dog for years, they refuse to change & now SM, MFC rule the cam world. Eventually, they may get replaced too. No matter how much money I've made with them, I will move on without a second thought to the next new thing that works.

Re: Pressuring Adultwork for some changes?
I think AW is set in their ways hence the reason that website is so outdated. But I have a few suggestions and will send them through in an email. Never know until you try.
Re: Pressuring Adultwork for some changes?
Adultwork is an escort directory that offers other services too...it's not just a camsite, so it won't tailor itself around just that.
Guys get to hear of Adultwork through escorting related forums...try searching for Adultwork in terms of webcam and it's many pages into the search except for it showing up connected to girls who have their own websites.
Re: Pressuring Adultwork for some changes?
yup its more set up for escorting really.
I think with the tips thing you also have to consider that its still not really part of British culture and the majority of users are British xx

I tried to do that many times, and joined SM, but it doesn't seem to work for me. I'm not more busy than I'm on AW on SM, but I get half the cut I do on AW, so it's just a waste of time for me. But I wish it worked.
I mailed them before, but like many of you said, they seem to treat webcam as just pocket money. They don't want to spare time and money to improve it. The reason I wrote it here was because I thought AW might be the main site for others than me, and they would be interested in e-mailing them too, but apparently it's not the case. Oh well, worth a shot :) Thanks everyone
Re: Pressuring Adultwork for some changes?
Have you tried the AdultWork forum? You might have more joy there. Also the webmaster has Q&A sessions now and then. The forum is not connected to AW in any way other than its members are either AW clients or workers.
Re: Pressuring Adultwork for some changes?
I did get a couple of changes put in through one Q & A session, to do with directchat, but I don't think they can do anything to change justcamit as it's not theirs. I think that is the best way to be listened to though.
Re: Pressuring Adultwork for some changes?
I often thought the site needs a few upgrades as well but it looks like they are testing out some new things. As far as the site itself I don't think they will be changing anything anytime soon but I may be wrong. Also, AW really has nothing to do with JCI. I believe they rent it from www.istreaming.com which is where that JCI comes fee is for. Before I even knew about AW I was thinking of streaming from my website and I noticed that AW rents from them.
Speak of the Devil. Did you guys notice the changes non-site they have added? (They may be old, I haven't been on the site in a while) I see they now have included an option to have them create/host/market your own website. The templates look played out but I don't think it could hurt to get extra traffic. Though to me they are reaching a bit with the prices from 10 credits per month to up to 50 credits a year O.o. I understand that some people are clueless about hosting websites but you can get a designer to (or create your own) make a Wordpress site for you for $10 a month or less in hosting. I think it would be good for beginners, escorts, and pso girls for sure. It seems content gets loaded instantly for you as you keep cranking them out through the site. What do you guys think? http://developers.adultwork.com/en-G...bsiteTemplates

Holy Shit! We're getting a redesign! Eventually...http://developers.adultwork.com/Site...kSiteRe-Design
