Is pole dancing/stage dancing a requirement? Can I just give lap dances..
I'm a newbie and I read how a lot of girls would rather do tricks on the pole and dance on stage rather than do lap dances. I'm vice versa.. I would only like to to lap dances, etc. I don't have any pole experience and I'm not about to make a fool of myself especially being new. Do clubs have requirements like having to do tricks on the pole or dancing on stage? I'm confident in everything else but don't want to be up there!

A good thread on the general un-necessity of pole tricks.
That said, several girls on here have talked abt buying their way off stage & just spending those periods in the trenches, hustling for dances/VIP. According to what I have seen, this is a good thing if you've got the skills/experience or just have such crippling 'performance anxiety' that stage would be pointless, but stage time also = advertising time. You can learn to be entertaining/engaging w/o the circus-grade pole antics :) You're literally up on a pedestal in front of the entire room. Esp as a brand-new dancer, I would actually recommend getting sm stage time in. You will get seen by more ppl at once; one hig tipper at your stage often inspires other customers to start tipping; you can also use stage as a break from up-close-&-personal interactions.

Depends on the club. You might be able to tip out extra to get off stage.

You will still have to go on stage, in a rotation with the other girls, you just won't have to do pole tricks. You could always learn a few once you get comfortable but it's not a necessity at all. At most clubs you'll make most of your money in vip/lap dances. Anyhow, like Tempest666 mentioned, some clubs will allow you to pay a certain amount to stay off stage for the night. But it is only a norm at some clubs, not all. Plus, if you're a newbie and just starting out at a club, I would recommend just staying in the stage rotation and getting the hang of it. A lot of girls don't do pole tricks, these days some girls barely dance up there if it's not busy; some clubs don't even have poles! You will be fine... most newbies start out confused about what to do up there.

Not all clubs make you go on stage. The club I've been at for the past year and a half is the biggest one I've worked at, and putting yourself on stage rotation is completely optional because there are a lot of girls. You just tell the DJ to put you on if you want, and if you want him to take you off he will. No fees involved. Sometimes I feel frisky and go on stage rotation the whole shift just for fun, sometimes I do it once for "advertising", and sometimes I don't do it at all. It's kind of annoying how they do it there because there is one main stage and three cage-style stages throughout the main floor, and you do one song on each instead of a full stage set. Long story short, it just depends on the club.
