Twitter’s Great Porn Purge of 2015: 10 million porn-posting users to be banned?
This could affect the camming industry quite drastically:
Quote:
A tech analyst claims that Twitter is about to purge up to 10 million users that post pornographic material, and porn stars and adult companies are worried it’ll hurt their bottom line.
Say it ain’t so! Don’t censor us Twitter, like all those other wildly profitable social media platforms.
According to SunTrust Robinson Humphrey tech analyst Robert Peck, Twitter is
preparing to purge an estimated 10 million porn-posting users. Ditching such a large chunk of users sounds drastic until you do the math: Twitter
claims to have 302 million monthly users, so getting rid of the explicit posters will only account for about 3 percent of its total—although that’s just counting the users and not their followers.

Re: Twitter’s Great Porn Purge of 2015: 10 million porn-posting users to be banned?
Good! Tired of seeing sexually explicit pics all over twitter. 90% of what I post is sexy but not sexually explicit. Stop all the so-called fan boys from posting nasty pics where kids can see them.
Twitter is in the biz of making money. Major companies wont spend with them if there is so much porn on there. They are NOT going to lose out on money because a few people can't keep it classy, sexy & pg.
I get more retweets & joins to my cam shows & site with sexy yet covered up pics than I do with the others. Why should a guy buy what you are selling if you give it all away on social media? Plus, wouldn't it be nice NOT to deal with Dick pics.

Re: Twitter’s Great Porn Purge of 2015: 10 million porn-posting users to be banned?
I'll be REALLY surprised if this happens. I want to see them delete Vivid whose is on tmz's payroll. I want to see them delete Jenna Jameson, or Farrah Abraham... and other big names.... some camgirls have 100k followers, are they really going to delete those accounts and all their followers accounts too? If anything they are going after all the "spam camgirls" which is a bigger problem then any real camgirl.
I wouldn't worry too much just yet. Now if they start deleting the big names... then we might worry a bit.

10million is nothing, most of us won't even see any difference whatsoever in our feeds.

I get your point, but I'm sure they wont do this on a case by case evaluation of accounts / content. It will be an algorithm that "judges" over your twitter fate. The criteria will probably be things like how often have you been flagged / reported etc. Maybe the spammers get purged, but there will be colateral damage, too.

Re: Twitter’s Great Porn Purge of 2015: 10 million porn-posting users to be banned?
Recently I some of my tweets got flagged because I was promoting a .xxx domain. I had to use a link shortner to get the link posted. But bitly. Bitly will say your url is invalid if its a .xxx domain. I already have several .com's I just wanted the .xxx for my membership site. There's always a workaround. I'm gonna start posting the url in the pic itself. My account isn't overly raunchy. So I think I would be okay, however I don't think it would be on a case by case basis. Each adult account has already been categorized as such. Whether you know it or not.

Re: Twitter’s Great Porn Purge of 2015: 10 million porn-posting users to be banned?
Oh crap, my pics are already being 'marked as sensitive'! Every time I post boobs they get censored, plus I can't use their advertising features as it knows I'm an adult related account :( this is worrying.

Re: Twitter’s Great Porn Purge of 2015: 10 million porn-posting users to be banned?
Are you posting nude boobs? Or are they covered? The only time I got the "this tweet contains sensitive material" is when I used .xxx My pics have been fine.

Re: Twitter’s Great Porn Purge of 2015: 10 million porn-posting users to be banned?
Why can't parents monitor their internet use? I didn't really know what porn was until I went to college. I have 18+ on my profile and all my content posted is selected as sensitive materiel.
I don't have any pictures of my cunt, so I'm hoping if this does take in effect, I'm safe.
But it is their company. If they don't want us filthy sodomites, fine. They have an image they want to withhold in the end.

Re: Twitter’s Great Porn Purge of 2015: 10 million porn-posting users to be banned?
Nude tits yeah. And it's just the pics, no links. I wonder if someone reported me as it started happening a couple of weeks ago and now I get it on about 10% of my pics.

I think they will delete the accounts that don't mark themselves as sensitive material.

How do you know if you - or your material - has been marked as "sensitive"?

It happens when you attempt to tweet. If a white box appears with the words This tweet may contain sensitive content or whatever then your tweet has been flagged. But I think that even if this hasn't happened to you yet, there's a big possibility that on the back end you are considered adult. They can tell by your hashtags I imagine. I'm not sure and have no proof. But it just makes sense to me. That's how tumblr did it. Every blog was automatically placed in a NSFW category. You cannot change it. The option is greyed out on tumblr.
For some reason I cannot access this thread unless I go into my profile and click on forum post. It's like this for a few other threads as well?

You can't see your own pic just the text 'this content has been marked as sensitive' with an option to click if you think it shouldn't be marked as such. You can still see the content but you have to click a button to do so.
This is from this morning (sorry for the terrible coverup lol) Attachment 41674 it says my settings are marked to warn me but they aren't!!!

Re: Twitter’s Great Porn Purge of 2015: 10 million porn-posting users to be banned?
I'm glad. Why does twitter need nudity posted in the first place. I think this brings people right back to where they need to get photos, videos and the like!

Re: Twitter’s Great Porn Purge of 2015: 10 million porn-posting users to be banned?
I've noticed that all my pics for Niteflirt goodies now have the sensitive material label. Niteflirt is very strict that the image posted for goodies has no nudity. So it seems that just associating with adult sites such as Niteflirt can get you marked as 'sensitive' even if no nudity is present. If this happens, I don't think those that post only non-nude sexy pics will be spared. Any association with adult sites, like having your account linked to NF, C4S or any of them, can out you.

Because EVERY kid has a mobile phone, tablet, ipad which can go on the web 24/7. It is SOCIAL media, twitter is NOT a porn hub.
Ladies, you can go into your settings & put it to all sensitive adult material, I do months ago. Still since I have had the account, because there are KIDS on it, I keep over 90% of my pics sexy but NOT sexually explicit. Which is HONESTLY not that hard to do, keep it sexy but don't show nipples, pussy, asshole or dicks. The way some of you raise such a fuss about showing that stuff is silly to me. Even though my stuff is all over the web for free, NOT because I did it but affiliates & fan boys, prefer that it wasn't.
We all made more money in porn when people had to PAY TO SEE that kind of content. I remember when the world didn't allow that stuff to be seen for free everywhere and I completely understood why. There are minors on the web, we can NOT police them, but we can ourselves. The trolls you all complain about daily LOVE that so many give it away for free on twitter. You are training them to expect everything for FREE! Fans who upload my stuff for free are NOT my fans but THIEVES.
The article didn't say everyone, just those who did post lots of sexually explicit content. Which are mainly fan boys STEALING content.
Neither can you complain about getting Dick pics if you are posting gaping assholes & pussies all over twitter yourself.
I lived in the era of pg world. Where you had to go into a store & BUY porn. I lived in an era where you had to pay on the web for nude pics... It was WAY more money, so I for one would love to see it all become more PG & those who want it PAY for it. Yes, it is hard to put the cat back in the bag. But for our bank accounts, the children of the world deserve it. Easily made $10,000 a month off of my site when there wasn't all this free porn videos & pics.
It isn't hard to be sexy yet covered up. It isn't hard to get their imaginations running if you use yours to take sexy pics & teaser videos.
A lesson I learned a long time ago is to NEVER put all your eggs in one basket. Twitter is awesome, but I am always working on other ways to market & not to rely upon one source. We all have to plan ahead & stay ahead of the changes that happen all the time in the world & especially this industry.

Re: Twitter’s Great Porn Purge of 2015: 10 million porn-posting users to be banned?
I actually have my twitter blocked so that only people that follow can see pictures. Even so I haven't done full nude. Some underage girl tried to follow me and I'm not adding her.

Re: Twitter’s Great Porn Purge of 2015: 10 million porn-posting users to be banned?
I have the grey box on all of my own pics, even though I did NOT set it to warn me before viewing explicit stuff. I voluntarily chose to have my content marked as NSFW/adult, even though I've never posted nipples, genitals, or my anus. The worst I've posted is a lot of cleavage and the top of my bush. At the time I chose my settings, I thought I needed to mark it as "sensitive material," not because of my pics, but because I use "adult language" a lot and talk about sex stuff - I thought it was only responsible to mark that as "sensitive." Was I wrong?

I agree with most of what you're saying, Sam, and my twitter feed is even less explicit than yours! However, I do have the same concerns as others. When I check on my Twitter analytics page, it says that I'm not eligible for Twitter advertising because I'm labelled as "adult sexual products and services." Of course, that's an accurate label, but I'm thinking that they will just make a sweeping ban on everyone with that label, whether or not we follow the rules and are PG-13 with our pics.

I'm surprised they haven't gone after MFC to end free chat nudity.

Re: Twitter’s Great Porn Purge of 2015: 10 million porn-posting users to be banned?
Mine isn't explicit at all though I do post the occasional nipple! Boob pics. My god some of the stuff I've seen and they get their knickers in a twist over nipples?!!! Thanks for the tip Sam I'll do hand bras from now on.

Re: Twitter’s Great Porn Purge of 2015: 10 million porn-posting users to be banned?
Well since we've got a conversation going on...does anyone know of a service that can backup your twitter followers? I've found one before but I can't remember what the name was. I had a youtube channel with A LOT of subscribers. Someone started reporting me in a mater of days and it got deleted. It still bugs the crap out of me because the channel wasn't explicit. I'm not gonna panic about twitter but would like to be prepared. So if anyone knows how to back up followers could you please share? Thanks.

Re: Twitter’s Great Porn Purge of 2015: 10 million porn-posting users to be banned?
Tubesites convert at 70,000 to 1. Do you really want to copy their business model?
If they were to go down & become all illegal as they should be, instead of hiding in different countries that allow such stuff, then we ALL would make more money.
Currently I convert at 756/1. When there wasn't all this free porn it was 300/1.
Twitter is a business. There are NOT going to lose out on BILLIONS so porn companies, fan boys, affiliates, cam girls & such can market for FREE. We have NO Rights, we have NO laws, it is there rules & game. Myspace had strict rules, I adhered to them & used to get 3 to 17 new members a day off of it.
It is NOT free speech when people steal my content & post it all over the web for FREE! It is called stealing. Social media is like a public park, we don't have the right to run around it naked either. If a man walked up & flashed his dick at you, he would be arrested. Yet, men can do that on the web? Why? We can't flash strangers in the park either. The web, social media are like public parks. Joining my site is like buying a membership to a private club where you can get naked. :)
When you take kids to a public park, you expect everyone to be clothed. The web is open to everyone, it is the public park & all kids have access to it 24/7. Even I am at 46 years old shocked by lots of the sexually explicit pics & videos on twitter & the web in general. My job is sex, golly, I don't need to be hit in the face with it every time I log onto twitter & such. There is a proper place & time for everything.
Tired of blocking every dick pic avatar profile, tired of blocking those who do post sexually explicit material when I log onto my account. Honestly, I shouldn't be FORCED to see a man's dick, cum pouring out of a pussy, DAP every time I log onto twitter.
There is more to us all than sex & pleasing men to make money.

Sam
