[email protected] that's f*cked up. If I was him I would have gotten medical treatment then worried about the bills later. Human life is more important than money, or lack thereof / debt.
That's unreal.
And that's also exactly why you'll never catch me swimming in a river. If I can't see to the bottom , like a pool or clear Caribbean ocean, I am not getting in.
Yea, if I was his g/f, I'd of called an ambulance & dragged him in. + it bit him twice. ^You're right.
Also, just by him trying to out the poison, nope he needed medicine
Natural selection in action.

What a crazy mofo :o
Maybe I'm crazy but wouldn't that be excruciating after a while? I'm so shocked that he was like 'whatevs' and went to bed like it was NBD. Talk about sucking it up, wow!
Spending most of my life in the northeast with nothing but harmless garden snakes, I could never imagine not rushing to the ER with a poisonous snake bite. But now that I live in an area where poisonous snakes are common, I'm learning that most bites from the venomous breeds here in the U.S. are not considered life threatening for a healthy grown adult. People who were raised where I am now are far more relaxed about the whole thing and I'm betting that many of them grew up with a "gut it out" mentality too.
My wife, on the other hand, grew up in a place where coral snakes and various breeds of viper could put a grown adult down in a hurry. She has a very healthy fear of snakes and for good reason.
Same thing happened to porn star Billy Glide about a year ago.

He saved on medical expenses and now is socked with funeral expenses...
A herpetologist might, but then a herpetologist might have sense enough not to get bitten.

Coral snakes are deadly. Their venom is a very potent neurotoxin like that of cobras and mambas.
Rattlesnake , copperhead and cottonmouth ( water moccasin ) venom is hemotoxic i.e. it attacks the red blood cells. How fatal it is depends on the size and age of the snake and how much gets into your bloodstream. People who get bit on a limb and do not get promptly treated often have to have fingers , toes , hands , feet, arms or even legs amputated usually from a combo of the venom's damage and gangrene. The cottonmouth has a deadly venom and like the Gila Monster and Mexican Beaded Lizard has a mouth full of bacteria that cause horrible infections i.e. if the venom doesn't kill you the germs will.
A good friend of mine was a snake expert and owned several poisonous snakes BUT he had them all devenomized. I wanted nothing to do with his "pets". I am strictly a mammal person. Afaic snakes are for the birds.
Thanks jeff, not watching tho..dealing w/other types of 'snakes' atm..
Lots of things can kill you, snakes, cars, elevators, but you cant go through life being scared of them. You have to respect them and be cautious.

But, watch out for the Snakes, Pokey!
I like snakes. I own 5 but they're not venomous.
