(among a few other questions i can answer myself)
I dont know what I would put for those to answer for occupation, im obviously not going to say camgirl haha and salary well it always depends so I dont know what to write for either of these...also I would tell my lanlord I work from home and what would you say if they ask "oh what is it that you do from home?" because I know that question is going to come up
please help hahaha
Re: moving, and I need questions answered about my occupation
Occupation: Media Sales and Marketing (Technology company)
Salary: (Whatever your salary is). You can have SM (whatever site you work on) send you a month's worth of checks (keep the stubs) and make sure you make around the same amount for each check so they can see how much you'd make monthly. Also, bring your W-9/2(sp?) for proof as well.
Re: moving, and I need questions answered about my occupation
Say you are a gamer, youtuber, you teach something on skype(partly true), you have a handmade ......store on etsy, you make tutorials.
Re: moving, and I need questions answered about my occupation
^^@MissJu Most rental offices aren't going to accept that as an occupation. Sales Media and Marketing Consultations is fine. You work in sales for technology companies. That's all they need to know.
Re: moving, and I need questions answered about my occupation
Just let them know you're self-employed which is true. I can understand not being comfortable telling them you're a "sex worker", so you can go with something like web/graphic design. That's usually my go to fake job.

I e always wondered this. In the UK they ask for an employers reference. How would you get around that?

the last time we moved only my OH was self employed, they wanted his accountants details. He does it himself so they requested the last however long of his bank statements instead! so intrusive!!

Lie ;D
Give a friend/relative's phone # and have them vouch for you. Here in the U.S. it's not that hard to find a landlord that doesn't bother actually calling the employer even though the application asks for it. Not sure about other places. Large apt complexes however are more likely to call and check.
Re: moving, and I need questions answered about my occupation
For years we were looking for a place everything we saw was old, expensive or my bf had bad credit score to get it.
So once we checked craigslist and found what we wanted. We came to check, my bf explained he has a bad credit score, but here is money, and tax documentation. Owner of apr was such a pain...
He wanted to see how much money in the bank, taxes, how much making now, referral from last 3 places where we lived, he also called an employer. He was so annoying!he actually called our landlord, and caused troubles, cuz our year rent was due and we wanted to move but were not sure if we can get something.
But after we met nicer people, who liked us, they did not run any credit score, did not looked into documents even.
We are really lucky!

I've gotten in all of my apartments with shitty credit, including the condo I'm in and not a single one was in a shitty area/neighborhood/run down. Perhaps I'm just lucky :/ Self Employed. Media Sales and Marketing were my job occupations and no one even blinked. I've lived in 5 states in the past 7 years as well.
Re: moving, and I need questions answered about my occupation
I've rented three different houses while camming with no issues. All you have to do is have a plausible-sounding job (I usually say I'm a self-employed contractor who works online; KourtneyKay's idea is a good one), proof of income (bank statements, pay stubs, tax records) and somewhat decent credit. Obviously some places will be easier to rent than others, but it really isn't terrible. All they really care about is getting their rent money on time.
Re: moving, and I need questions answered about my occupation
You can also say that you work in Media Sales as a marketing specialist. When big companies need to advertise and market, they come to your company and you show them how to get their sites exposure. LOL.
Re: moving, and I need questions answered about my occupation
I use to make paystubs for models on here. when they needed it. It's what I did to get my current apartment I've been here for 7 years next move is buying my first home. So I know that is more of about having money for the mortgage and good credit.
Renting I made up job letters and paystubs to get into this place. At my bank it says I am in direct sales and since cam sites are changing their company names they have that on file at my bank . no I am not worried about it because of going to a job interview for an internet hosting company and I put on my resume that I was doing internet marketing and when they asked more questions and I just broke down and told them they were still interested in me.
