Re: Beauty Randoms Thread
^Same here. I think I am in need of braces again actually, as one of the problems is that I have an overbite and ever since I saw how it looked in profile when I was a teenager have got in the habit of unconsciously trying to micro-correct it by jutting my lower jaw out(sounds a bit crazy but I'm talking a tiny amount).
I had braces way back in my teens but haven't worn the retainer for many years now and my teeth have definitely moved again. If I'm being super picky and vain (which I am) I would like to have surgery on the top jaw to make it smaller but can't afford it now and TBH not sure mine is that severe a case.
My other brainwave was to maybe get lip filler, getting more in the lower lip so it balances out with the top lip in profile. That wouldn't solve jaw pain directly but if I was less paranoid about looking like a Simpsons character I might start relaxing with the jaw jutting.
I'm aware I need my head checked more than anything. LOL
Re: Beauty Randoms Thread
I def notice a difference between using fingers vs sponges vs brush when applying foundation.
Sponge - I see my pores a lot.
Fingers - I see my pores some.
Brush - I don't see my pores!
Re: Beauty Randoms Thread
Dipping your hair in lemon juice everyday can give you a natural ombre.

This actually sounds like it could be a good idea to me because fillers do make the lips project out more. One of the reasons why I like having my lips done so much is because I have a bigger nose and I have a weak profile, in profile all you would really see was my nose, but now that I have my lips done I think my profile looks a lot better because my lips stick out a lot and it balances out my nose.

I had my first acupuncture session. I was impressed with how thorough the initial consultation was, and we addressed my insomnia as well as emotional issues, before getting to the facial aesthetics stuff I went in for.
The therapist also put a couple of needles into my ankle which is healing slowly after a sprain.
So it was definitely a holistic treatment!
She put needles into the nose-to-mouth area, under my bottom lip, and in the jaw area, and just a couple in the lower temples, the area where crows feet appear.
She also put needles in points in my wrists, feet and breastbone area.
I felt relaxed after lying there for about 20 minutes and slept better that night, and I think there may be an improvement in the area around my mouth but probably too early to say if I'm imagining it(the sleep alone could have helped).
Will be going back next week, and probably another couple of weekly sessions and then maybe go less often. So far I'm liking the treatment.
Re: Beauty Randoms Thread
Yes, I've had & liked acupuncture as well!

I tried an infrared sauna last week, it was very relaxing. I like that the heat was gradual and less direct than normal saunas/steams.
Actually, talking of heat... the acupuncturist has said I shouldnt do hot yoga so much because it's depleting, so I'm going to try cutting down to once a week and do non-hot yoga on other days.
I'd like to do the infrared regularly but it's quite expensive. Maybe I will aim for once a month.
I wonder if there's anywhere you can do infrared sauna/cryotherapy back to back.
Also, has anyone tried and seen results from copper peptides?
I've just started using them but am being cautious because of some negative feedback online about permanent skin damage from them. It seems they suit some people but not others.
Re: Beauty Randoms Thread
you can buy your own infrared sauna, it will cost you as cheap as 300$
i bought 1 bulb, and yes heat feels relaxing. but i wonder if in nature we have such light?
Re: Beauty Randoms Thread
A fashion random; I texted my friend a pic of this purse: http://www.nastygal.com/accessories-...lanet-backpack just because I thought it was cute. She was like "Omg that's amazing I need it," and I was like "No girl it's hideous. It's cute to look at but not to actually WEAR." Then she pointed out the fact that I own and wear this backpack out in public: http://www.amazon.com/Zerlar-Womens-...alien+backpack I was like "Well shit, I guess you have a point." LOL. So I secretly ordered the Saturn purse for her bday. And this is the friend I always wear matching outfits with no now we're going to look REALLY weird together in our space backpacks.......... :alien: :propeller
Re: Beauty Randoms Thread
I just ordered a collagen supplement called Dermacoll.
I've ummed and aahed over supplementing collagen for a few years as I'd read some research on it and it seemed there wasn't enough evidence of oral collagen being absorbed effectively enough to make changes in the dermis.
There are now some studies that show it can work, though, and I'm going to try it. My skin has got a bit crepey and drier, I have cellulite, and I'm hoping taking the collagen will help boost any results I get from the dermaroller on stretch marks.
I already take glucosamine and MSM, as well as gotu kola and other vitamins that are all meant to play a part in collegen synthesis.
Apparently this type (Verisol) is extremely well absorbed. I'm giving it at least 3 months(maybe 6) before I decide whether I'm seeing improvements or just wasting my money.
Re: Beauty Randoms Thread
Woohoo I finally get to start my electrolysis this month!!! I'm sooooooooooooooooo excited. Goodbye razor burn. :hyper:
Re: Beauty Randoms Thread
I'm going to have to be an adult and start really focusing on making a real schedule. I feel like I have so many appointments to run around for all the time, I need to choose one day of the week where I schedule everything so I can get it all done in one day. I'm going to start the electrolysis treatments this month and have no idea how many appointments it will take, I have a filler appointment this month, I've gotta make my permanent makeup appointments(2), I need to make an appointment to have beauty marks taken off my back.....all that stuff plus going to the gym and pilates all week long plus nail appointments twice a month and lash appointments twice a month plus hair every 6 weeks....... it's getting hectic. From now on Friday is my running around day because it's my least favorite day on cam.
Re: Beauty Randoms Thread
I'm getting my twat lasered tomorrow.
Re: Beauty Randoms Thread
My friend just changed my life. She showed me Miradry which is where they laser your underarm sweat glands so they die and can never produce sweat again. I have had excessive underarm sweating since puberty, I had them botoxed last year and it worked well but for only 2 months. I use Sweat Block deodorant and it actually completely works for me but I'm paranoid that it will eventually be taken off the market since they like to do that to things that actually really work....... Plus the Sweat Block is a bit of a hassle because you really have to coordinate it with your shaving schedule and also I really wouldn't mind not having to apply toxins to my skin all the time. I've heard of surgery to remove your sweat glands but I wasn't too down for that, a two-part laser I am so down for though. Once my electrolysis appointments and permanent makeup appointments are done I'm so doing it. God I wish I could just have someone do all this to me at my house.

Mine do the same thing, the lady I've been going to for fillers recently finally gets it. So many times I'd tell whichever doctor that I was seeing that my body eats up the filler extremely fast and they'd be like 'No......it lasts 6 months.......that's not possible.' Yeah okay I guess I'm hallucinating. My current chick just redid my lips last week after having done them in February and she was like 'Wow it's amazing how quickly it went away.' I was like THANK YOU.
I'm going to have to switch nail techs. I've been going to the same guy for 1.5 years and lately he is slipping up, I've been having issues with the sides of my nails not being perfectly smooth, sometimes they're even downright wonky, and the last 2 times I've had it where the gel is overlapping outside of my nail bed and the final straw is that one of my acrylics is lifting from the side right now, and a lot. The whole nail will have to be redone. I've never had that happen in my life and this set has only been on for 10 days. The good news is that there seems to be a really good guy at the place I get my lashes done at, my lash chick tried to hustle him to me but I wanted to stick with my current guy. Well sayonara current guy, someone else deserves my $20 tips.
Re: Beauty Randoms Thread
I finally bought a beauty blender and I'm so excited to apply my foundation like an adult instead of a feral child.
Re: Beauty Randoms Thread
I'm SO gross right now. So my nails are a disaster, one of them broke in half so I broke the lifting thumb one off too. Normally if I break a nail I go right in and have it redone or I clip all my nails down short and file them down and repaint them so at least they'll all be uniform till I have time to get them redone but I'm so not in the mood. I was like 'fuck it,' I figured on cam I can hide the disaster hand or just wear gloves and if I go to the grocery store I use the self checkout so no one there will have to see the mess. But I forgot I had pilates today so I had to go in there with my mangled-ass nails. I know it's a first world problem but I think we all have at least one beauty thing where if it's out-of-whack we feel out-of-whack as a whole. I'm going to be looking hella ratchet when I go see the new nail guy tomorrow for the first time.
THEN, because I have to have my pubes grown out for my electrolysis appointment but still need to cam bushless what I did was only shave the lip area since it's the hair in the area above that that's getting removed, I wore a skirt on cam yesterday so if I had to go bottomless I could just lift the skirt up to where the hairy part was still hidden underneath it. So I have bald crotch lips with a huge arc of hair over top. The lady doing the electrolysis is probably going to be very baffled since most people probably just grow out the whole thing because they don't get naked for a living.
Thank god tomorrow's my 'beauty day' and I just made my appointment to get my roots done and a haircut because I'm such a hot mess right now.

It's okay I was laughing while I was typing it. Off topic but it reminds me about how I was talking to my ex yesterday about my bush and I said to him "Gives new meaning to the term 'bushmeat,' doesn't it?" and he was horrified lol.
