MAC users using new 720HD settings that get the 8-11fps ISSUE, do this.
I'll just repost this because I know I had this issue when I first started and had to do some internet research to figure it out, and if I can help others and save them the trouble then I'm happy to:
Go to http://camtwist.en.softonic.com/mac and download version 2.5, this is the version that works with FMLE, the newer one doesn't. If this doesn't work go to page 3 of this forum for instructions on where to find camtwist 2.5
Open and install it, then click on cam twist to bring up the menu and open preferences, should look like this:
Attachment 42652
Then click on the general tab and change your settings to what I have here:
Attachment 42651
Then click on video devices (tab next to general) and change it to what I have here:
Attachment 42653
Then close the preferences tab, close cam twist (shut down the applications to allow the settings to take place)
Re-open camtwist, double-click webcam under 'video sources' - step 1, like in this print screen I have and it should show under video 3 webcam with a checkmark next to it and settings should show your webcam selected.
Attachment 42654
Anytime you open FMLE you need to open cam twist FIRST and then in FMLE you make sure that it has 'cam twist' selected as your webcam for display. Once you do this then you can broadcast at the 1280x720HD settings with 30FPS without it choking out and forcing the camera to go into a 8-11fps mode.
Hope this helps anyone who was having the issue!

thank you so very much. i've really been struggling with being a new model to streamate during these changes and glitches. i've emailed SM support so many times, and i get these responses that don't even relate to my questions! I can't wait to try these settings. I've always wondered WHY out of all my rankings...my FPS is poor. I can only ever get 10 FPS out of my c920! until now! SO VERY GRATEFUL TO YOU! THANK YOU

Re: MAC users using new 720HD settings that get the 8-11fps ISSUE, do this.
I actually did a lot of research last night and found out why some cameras only get 10 fps, especially on Mac.
The c920 isn't mac compatible as in it has no actual Logitech drivers for Mac, so it uses the 'plug and play' feature via the USB drivers to connect, therefore with a program like fmle it can't get it's TRUE hd resolution or fps settings because it's using a generic USB driver to work. I bought the 930e because it WAS mac compatible but found out because it's a business webcam (2 years after the fact and purchasing 2 of them and they are double the price of the c920) that it doesn't even have drivers from Logitech for windows OR Mac so it always connects under the lower quality USB drivers. Took me hours yesterday to figure out why I couldn't get my 930e to go above 10 fps on my Alienware i7 then I found out that was why but sadly windows has no program like camtwist to FORCE the camera into 720hd and 30 fps like camtwist so I had to go back to using my c920, which also resulted in another evening off, but atleast I figured it out and should have no more issues streaming with my new set up.
Anyway, happy to help anytime I can, you're very welcome :)

so if I have the 930e would this fix not work for me? I'm on a mac as well and my FPS tanked on the new settings :(

Did not work for me but only because my MAC is OLD. Waiting on my Alienware I7 to be built, it's already ordered -_-

If you have the 930e and a mac YES you CAN do this, cause camtwist forces the camera resolution and fps to what you set it to, absolutely! That's what I was doing before I decided my mac couldn't cut it with the new settings because its an i5 and it was lagging my computer down so much, so I moved to my alienware i7 with my 920c Logitech instead to do the new settings.

Re: MAC users using new 720HD settings that get the 8-11fps ISSUE, do this.
Thank you! This definitely made a huge improvement. I have an i5, but it's the 3.2 GHz one and it's practically new so I thought I should be able to do better than the medium legacy settings. (I bought my desktop in January before I found out I should have gotten an i7.) My internet is not good though. My upload speed is 1.11 Mbps, so I kept lowering the bitrate and testing my stream. Once I changed it to 1000 Kbps, the stream is smooth with no buffering and looks crystal clear. However, I'm assuming using a lower bitrate in my settings defeats the purpose of the new placement criteria? Obviously I know SM says we need at least 2.5 Mbps upload speed, but my stream is working perfectly fine at 1280x720 with the lower bitrate. I'm excited to see how clear my c930e is, I'm used to looking like I'm constantly in soft focus, and not in a good way lol.

Re: MAC users using new 720HD settings that get the 8-11fps ISSUE, do this.
I think the only thing you really need to worry about with the lower bit rate at 1280x720 is the pixelation issues... When you watch yourself on FMLE do you watch the input window, or the output? I have mine set to output cause that's what the members see, and I know with the lower bit rate when I move too much or something it goes pixelated n fuzzy. And you're very welcome btw, I was trying to figure it out myself when I first changed to 720p, good ol googling helped me figure it out (like most things when trying to self diagnose my tech issues, lol). Happy to help!

Re: MAC users using new 720HD settings that get the 8-11fps ISSUE, do this.
I have it set to output too :) Every once in a while I'll bring up my cammodels page in another tab and double check. So far so good, I just can't really have anything else open while streaming or it will affect it. Which I guess is a good thing for me because if I'm distracted, it definitely shows on my face lol. Happy camming!

Re: MAC users using new 720HD settings that get the 8-11fps ISSUE, do this.
Hello All! Just decided to get back into camming after years in hiatus. Question and I'm so frustrated right now especially with all these new changes. Just download the FMLE Legacy setting (highest one) and trying to set up the encoder. Problem is my only laptop is a Macbook Air. Still pretty new, it's an I5 with 4gb ram. I know it's not spectacular but it's what I have right now until I can get a fancy one. Problem is when I tried setting up encoder, its not detecting ANY camera. Im having to use the camera built in with my laptop which is suppose to be decent (new 2015 macbook model) but its not detecting it at ALL. I need to start camming tonight, if anybody knows what I can it be great asap.

Re: MAC users using new 720HD settings that get the 8-11fps ISSUE, do this.
What is FMLE? I got a MacBook Air last year and have never been able to use any of my cams with it as there's no way to change the settings. I've therefore only ever used it to cam during the daytime when it's really brght. Is camtwist just a cam splitter or what? I'd be using it with a logi pro 9000 and c920, on AW and MFC.

Re: MAC users using new 720HD settings that get the 8-11fps ISSUE, do this.
Camtwist is a splitter like verysoft, many cams, etc but for Mac, great program especially cause you can use it to adjust your webcam settings to their true form :)

But what is FMLE and do i need it? Thanks x

Re: MAC users using new 720HD settings that get the 8-11fps ISSUE, do this.
FMLE = the encoder. Flash media Live encoder. :P

If the encoder picked up the webcam and its still in use by the encoder (the lights on the webcam are showing light up after the encoder is closed down) then camtwist will act like that cam is still in use by another program and not be available to select as a video source. You could try to unplug your cam and plug it back in then try to re-open camtwist, and if that doesn't work try to reboot your mac and try again and see if that fixes it.

I quit the encoder several times. and quit camtwist and re-opened it. camtwist still isn't picking up the webcam in 'video sources'

Hrmmmmm, my only suggestion would be to uninstall and reinstall camtwist, which version are you using? 2.5? Did you try to unplug and re plug in your cam or reboot your Mac and see if it helped? Sorry for not getting back sooner I try to only come on here once maybe twice a day because it's distracting! Lol
