Out of curiosity, anybody had luck running OBS to stream under Mac? Here's the link to the program I'm talking about

Well those settings you screen shotted aren't in 1280x720HD either, looks like the old settings? If you follow my beginning instructions on the first page of this post it should work just fine. As far as el captain, I do not know, I heard there was issues with that upgrade and FMLE from the streamate twitter before they were suspended, I no longer cam with my mac, and I was still running mavericks on mine, that might be part of the issue, but I'm unsure.

I did try OBS back before I researched and found this - I found there to be a massive delay while broadcasting with it, so it didn't work for me, might work for others though.

Bumping this again! It worked for me! My stream is a bit choppy but my placement is back to where it was and nobody has complained about my stream. Thank you!!

Re: MAC users using new 720HD settings that get the 8-11fps ISSUE, do this.
I tried using these settings but my stream is down to 12FPS, without camtwist, I can run about 25fps, but I need to find a decent camsplitting program.. I spent at least 4 hours messing with my tech settings tonight.. wasted so much working time :( I dont really like manycam at all, it makes my picture quality go down so much.. but I'm thinking about upgrading my cam.. I use the logitech c920 right now. So i might save up for the c930e... maybe this will fix my problem with many cam?
Oh and off topic.. But.. If you camsplit, do you find that your audio goes off on one cam but not on the other sometimes? I seem to have this problem... but unsure how to fix it.

Oh my gosh! Thank you sooooo much for this thread I got back my page 1 placement thanks to this. I should have read this thread much earlier, maybe I would have done better in the contest, oh well I am just happy I have my placement back now :)

If you follow the step by step instructions it should fix it where your FPS is 30. And no, logitech 930E would not make a difference, I have 2 logitech 930E cams now (one brand new) that are collecting dust. If your 920c is older (6 months-1 yr) depending how much you have used it to cam then you might need to get an upgraded one, I clock a TON of man hours with my cam so I need to replace them quite often. With Camtwist it'll force the resolution and hd quality of your cam to get your settings to where they need to be for 720HD thats the purpose of the program and IS one of the best splitters for mac.
The difference with 930e vs 920c is that it has a wider range of view - the color is different than the 920c (don't like that personally) but the range of view is nicer, but it is absolutely not worth the 2x the price of the 920c IMHO. They made the impression that the 930E was the 'mac verison' of the 920c because it worked with the logitech software on mac, but it doesn't have any drivers for MAC either so it doesn't matter... thats why you use camtwist to make your resolution and FPS what it needs to be.

Re: MAC users using new 720HD settings that get the 8-11fps ISSUE, do this.
Is a 4GB machine too weak for this? I've been trying it out on my Macbook Air with i5 and 4GB but it lags so badly I had to stop. Am I the only one? Speed test seems to think my internet is very fast.

Re: MAC users using new 720HD settings that get the 8-11fps ISSUE, do this.
I am just going to stop stressing about the new settings now, I got it all working in the end with no problems with one of my macs on el captain thats the older one and a 4gb my new one 8gb i am still on mavericks but the cpu just goes threw the roof with the new settings on both of them so its a no go for me and i have good internet..........i have 3 sites i work on and streamate on the old settings are still ok for me "for now" i will get a gaming laptop later on if its really going to effect my income massively on sm. I am geo blocked so can't check my placement anymore, i was always on page one, i have seen a decline in traffic but even on page one you will depending on the time of day/night.
Streamate need to get that broadcaster sorted for us mac girls if it does not eat up as much cpu as the encoder.
I have always gotten around split camming with two laptops and two webcams, i recently bought myself an iPad pro so i use that for Skype shows now which works a treat.

Re: MAC users using new 720HD settings that get the 8-11fps ISSUE, do this.
Bump to say THANK YOU!
Since I've had to resort to using my old Logitech c910 backup cam, my fps has tanked on Streamate. Following your instructions allowed me to pull an even 28 fps out of my c910 (which I didn't even think was possible, to be completely honest).
This just saved my ass.

Re: MAC users using new 720HD settings that get the 8-11fps ISSUE, do this.
webcamcutie .... I just wanna tell you that I legit love you bb!!! lol Thank you so much for this thread, I followed your thorough instructions to a T and after a little tinkering I'm actually having my first good night on SM, since being back after a 2 year break. I'm excited all over again about the site and since my placement has gone up (page 7-8 last time I logged in to middle of page 4 tonight) staying on for a long shift is actually going to be doable. So thanks again!!
and one quick question, I want to attempt splitcamming sometime tonight, and I know someone else on here said to open another window in fmle, but how do you do that? Or is there there another way? I don't see the option to open a new window anywhere. I wanna split with cams.com.
**Update (not to thread jack): So after a lot of research trial and error I found the answer to my question. Thought I'd leave the answer here incase anyone else was having the same issue. Simply find the program in finder, right click and duplicate. Then you'll be able to open both the original and duplicate as separate programs.

Re: MAC users using new 720HD settings that get the 8-11fps ISSUE, do this.
Thank you so much! I have no idea why I only encountered this fps issue this week and not earlier, but it killed my placement. Hopefully everything will get back to normal now!

Re: MAC users using new 720HD settings that get the 8-11fps ISSUE, do this.
Hi webcamcutie!! I was wondering if you can recommend a fix for random pixelation, lagg, and glitching. I use camtwist everynight and I have the encoder of course, BCC Logitech, and a iMac i5. It works prefectly when it works. But then every couple of weeks it will get horrible pixelation, lagging and glitching, and then randomly go away. I don't know if I need to switch away from mac, try a camtwist alternative or what? Any light by any chance? I'd thoroughly appreciate it!

Re: MAC users using new 720HD settings that get the 8-11fps ISSUE, do this.
I'm using camtwist with wirecast and am having phenomenal results. Wirecast is expensive, but unlike Adobe FMLE, you can have multiple streams, multiple camera sources (or the same camera) to switch on the fly without disconnecting your stream, and run scenes (i.e. commercials you create or splash pages if you step away from your cam w/o going on break if your cam site allows it).
I use cam twist specifically for watermarking my feed and nothing else. Wirecast works great without cam twist as well. You could feed your camera directly to the program if you choose to do so.
I talked with a friend about OBS and he was telling me that the encoding SM requires is formulated to be used specifically by certain type of clients (i.e. streaming platforms). OBS has issues because it isn't encoded the same as FMLE. That's why sometimes you can't connect or other times you do connect and the stream is super delayed or amazingly shit quality. Cocoa Split also has the same problem. Wirecast actually has 3 options you can choose from for the way you are pushing your stream to a specific site and FMLE is one of them. I was hesitant at first to make the switch, but now that I've been using it for about 2 weeks now, I will never go back!
I can now stream to multiple sites and take Skype calls without ever disconnecting a single stream, program, etc. and it all works flawlessly! It makes camming much more pleasant when you can just focus on the shows and not have to worry about any of the technical aspects :)

does camtwist need to be used for the new SM broadcast for Mac?

Re: MAC users using new 720HD settings that get the 8-11fps ISSUE, do this.
I have the 2011 13" Macbook Pro and noticed that my CPU sky rocketed once I downloaded the SM BROADCASTER. I couldn't figure out why it was running at 90% until I realized that RECORDING the shows was using up a ton of CPU while I was live. I disconnected the recording feature and it runs great at 15-20%. If anyone is having similar issues, try reducing the video quality from 1280 down to 800 and remove the RECORD SHOW feature.

Re: MAC users using new 720HD settings that get the 8-11fps ISSUE, do this.
When I'm using FMLE and Cam Twist, for some reason the screen is black even after restarting etc but then also when going into cam twist again and selecting my Logitech C920 then opening FMLE my cam is stretched?! Can anyone recommend anything?
