Feeling a bit defeated - earnings not great.
Hey ladies,
I'd really appreciate some advice, and I've read through many of the tips here but am also wondering what I might be doing wrong, in my kind of unique sitch. I work at a sort of unusual club, in that it's a full dinner and a show service. Shifts are about 4 1/2-5 hours actual work, but it includes three hours of mingling while running drinks and food in lingerie, and then we have the opportunity to sell dances. They are PRICY, 150 for three songs, so it can be a hard sell, esp when you only have an hour max to secure it. I tend to average between 0-2 dances a shift. 3 is a great night. Our club discourages hustling. All we can really do is ask. And I get compliments on my looks and personality, and tips constantly, but when it comes to booking actual dances, I'm not a high earner by any stretch. The bank girls do between 5-8 on an average night.
I've busted my ass and I am friendly, smiley and fun at work. I get along great with the guys and the girls I work with. I want to fix whatever I'm doing wrong. The other thing is...the girls who make that bank money at my club all tend to look very similar. Tall, tanned, waist length hair, very contoured makeup, big boobs. I on the other hand am short, very fair, with teeny boobs, a very slim body and curly red hair.
any advice from you lovelies would be sincerely appreciated. Thanks :)
Re: Feeling a bit defeated - earnings not great.
I think you mistook what they said about discouraging hustling dances yet you have to ask for dances anyways. What do they mean by hustling? To me asking for the dance is part of hustling. Hustling isn't a bad thing to me. To me it means being ready and on point to make a sale and not letting petty hoes or douchebag men get in the way of your goals. Maybe brush up on your sales skills, ask house mom for constructive feedback on your stripper look, or try a second club in your area to see if you make more money in another environment.

Thanks so much for the response! Yeah the "no hustling" rule is strange and arbitrary. Essentially they say, don't ask for dances, let them come to you. Even though loads of girls seem to anyway. You can only really ask during the last hour when dances actually happen. It's rough, cause the girls who sell a lot can get away with a lot but everyone else gets told not to.
Re: Feeling a bit defeated - earnings not great.
It seems like there is favoritism toward the top earners. Maybe they are tipping the staff extra so the staff will discourage other girls from hustling in order to decrease their competition. I would try upping my hustle and, if it pays off big time, tipping the staff accordingly?
Re: Feeling a bit defeated - earnings not great.
????
Probably because they found some loophole to ask for dances without sounding like their asking for dances so they don't get in trouble with the managers. Or they're breaking the rule and just not getting in trouble for it.
How will managers know you asked for dances or the customer asked for dances??? Do they have covert listening devices? Most likely not. So the only way they know is if the customer tells on you and then I'd just say he's lying lol!
But really just because you can't say "would you like to go for some dances?" Still doesn't mean you can't be creative in your wording.
Re: Feeling a bit defeated - earnings not great.
Oh, yeah totally, and I do tend to get interest a lot when I allude to dances (and I do) throughout the evening. My main issue is that often when we get to that last hour where they have to put their money where their mouth is, they either disappear, or go with someone else or just back down completely. I feel like my follow through isn't working, despite my best efforts, you know?
Re: Feeling a bit defeated - earnings not great.
What a strange system. Honestly spending hours with customers before being able to make any money off them would kill me, but anyways
The best advice I can give you is don't ask for dances, tell customers they are taking you for a dance. And work on your body language. If you only have the last hour to actually sell dances, you need to make sure you appear "alpha" to every customer you talk to. You want to be telling him that you're dancing for him in such a way that he'll be like, "Oh, of course". Do everything you can to move sexily but also confidently.
Re: Feeling a bit defeated - earnings not great.
Reminds me when the managers at the club who came up with a ridiculous rule where the dance prices where super cheap and the dancers could not charge more per dance.
So these broads found a loophole in the rule where they could charge whatever they wanted for their time lol!
Loopholes are your money making friend.
