Noob questions about ethnicity and getting started
Hi all- I'm totally new here so I'll introduce myself briefly before getting into my questions :)
I'm a 27 year old grad student in the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill area of NC. I'm looking into stripping because I need to take a break from school (and make serious cash) because of a rare neurological disorder and a ton of stress. I want to do something that's not science related, is flexible, relatively low-stress and most importantly, *pays*. Neurologists are expensive, haha.
Physically, I'm short (5'4") and very thin (105lbs), but I do have an extreme hourglass shape and a decent amount of boobage (28G). I'm a bit self-conscious of stretch marks and I have not really been successful at covering them with makeup- so any tips would be much appreciated! I'm originally from an island in the Caribbean and although I'm very mixed, most people think that I look Indian. I was wondering- particularly given the area that I'm in- is this going to help or hurt? I'm not sure if it's something that I should exploit as a selling point or tone down. When I did the online dating thing, my inbox was blowing up with messages but since I'm a grad student/hermit, I don't know if that translates to real-life interaction. If my ethnicity is marketable, how could I do that without being...idk...too tacky?
While I have been obsessively reading posts on here, I can't find a lot of information on clubs in my area. I'm thinking of trying out the Men's Club in Raleigh, so if anyone has the scoop, please help me out :) From what I've gathered, they require gowns. If that's the case, when I go in to inquire, should I wear: a dress/heels, jeans/sexy top/heels or tight pencil skirt/cute top/heels? And what should I take in case they want me to audition? I ask because I'm not 100% on what 'gown' entails.
Thanks in advance, and if anyone has any other advice they'd like to share, I would really appreciate it :)
PS- are tattoos frowned upon in more upscale clubs?
Re: Noob questions about ethnicity and getting started
You can never anticipate what they'll say, you just have to go in and see. Yes, tattoos are definitely frowned upon in upscale clubs. I've been rejected solely for my one thigh piece. But they really just care about size. If they're small and not gang-related (duh) they may just ask you to cover them. Most times the house mom will do it for a fee if you can't. And don't even worry about stretch marks. At all.
In terms of your race: Sometimes it will help you, sometimes it will hurt you. Some guys will like you, some guys won't. My best advice is to not think about it at all. Don't let it get in the way because there's nothing you can do about it. You can't change your body and you can't change a customer's preference. I don't have any ideas on how to market it though :( I don't think you really need to.
As for what to wear, just wear whatever you feel looks the best on you. It all depends on what clothes you own and how they look on your body. Just try to keep a balance between showing your assets and not looking to slutty. It's all about the first impression and since it's an upscale club you want to look classy. But also show off what you have. I think all you'll need is an ID and your social security card. We have a Men's Club in my city and that's all they required. And of course take a bag full of outfits, makeup, dancer shoes, etc in case they want you to audition and/or start that night. For a gown I think any dancer dress will do. When in doubt just call and ask! We can only give you so much info here, there's nothing wrong with calling and asking a manager exactly what you need for that particular club.

You're skinny and you have big tits. You'll be fine.
Re: Noob questions about ethnicity and getting started
Thanks for your response GothicStripper! Most of my tats are very small/hidden, except for the ones on my back. I have a long molecule running down my spine and a stereotypical butterfly tramp-stamp (I was 18 and dumb, what can I say?). The molecule is usually a good conversation starter, but I wasn't sure it would fly. I cased out their Twitter account yesterday and saw a pic of one of their dancers with pretty large stars on her hip/thigh, so I'm not as worried anymore.
I don't think I'm too concerned about rejection based on my race- although in my experience, the guys who do that are usually assholes about it. I guess I was more curious about the value/risk of being "exotic". I get told that I look like Jasmine from Aladdin often (or a Kardashian, :ashamed: ), and I wondered if it would be more beneficial to present myself more like that, rather than the 'ordinary' way I would tend towards.
The use of an accent would be another question. I've seen a few girls on here say that an accent (real or fake) really helped them out. I've lived here long enough that you can't tell that I'm foreign by my speech-unless I'm royally pissed or drunk- so I would have to consciously pull out my native accent. It's very...different...so I'm not sure, haha. When people think of Caribbean accents they usually think of the Jamaican accent, but mine sounds nothing like that. People tell me it's lilting and kind of sounds like I'm singing, but I don't know if it has the sex appeal of European and Latin American accents haha. I'm probably self-conscious about it because an ex once told me it made me sound stupid, idk.

Tempest666: Hahaha, I thought that would be all I needed...until I started reading this forum :boggled:

Ah! I can't believe I asked about tats and forgot to ask about this: What have girls' experiences been with nipple piercings in classier clubs?
Re: Noob questions about ethnicity and getting started
Thee Men's Club is a gown club. They want you in a "prom" dress, more or less. Call and see when they do auditions and what to wear. Tats don't seem to be a big positive or negative. I've seen girls with none, I've seen girls with many and I've seen everything in between. Same for piercings. I had one nipple pierced when I danced, guys seemed to like it. I took it out to breast feed. BF said he missed it, so I put it back in. :-)
