Re: Strippers & social media
I wasnt sure if it was different for dancers, since they dont base the whole job off of the internet, like cam girls. It it just as popular with strippers?
Re: Strippers & social media
I don't think it's a good idea cause guys can be stalkers and promoting oneself on social media means having no privacy.

Re: Strippers & social media
Eh. I tried using Twitter for a while but didn't find it worthwhile. Maybe it was and it was just that nobody told me they found out about me in Twitter though. IME most social media users are under 30, and that's just not my target demographic. Maybe if you work weekend nights and focus on the young crowd it could help draw in more customers, but even then, not sure what the quality of the clientele would be. If you have the time, I mean, give it a shot, but I wouldn't do it expecting it to draw in big and easy money.
Re: Strippers & social media
I wouldn't. It sounds like fun to have a 'fan page' but it's gonna promote guys wanting your time for free, and just looking at your pics instead of coming in.
There's also FB's algorithm that suggests "people you may know" and it's only a matter of time before your work page pops up on your real life friend's "suggested friends" list.
I find it's easiest to give my # to guys who are potential regulars and just text.
Re: Strippers & social media
Social media has its place like any other tool of the trade but you shouldn't rely on it for your main source of customers. The young ones seldom have $$ anyways.

Oh, yes, this!!! One of my customers deleted his Facebook after seeing a dancer he used to frequent in the "people you may know" section. It was her regular Facebook too, not even a dancer page, but it was enough to freak him out that someone could somehow make a connection to him visiting clubs. I think a lot of spenders like clubs due to their anonymity and discretion, so they would be unlikely to add a dancer to their Facebook or like her fan page.
Re: Strippers & social media
I have a "Fan Page"... It's not set up to where people can friend request me. They can "Like" my page (and Facebook gives people the option of making their liked pages or groups "private" which seems to work better for married/professional men who don't want a stripper on their friends list for all to see!)
It works well for me actually. I post where I'm going to be performing each day, my modeling portfolio is on there (no nudes though, don't give it away!) and if it's slow during my shift I will post again saying something like, "I'm at ___ (insert club name) it's a pretty mellow day today so I have tons of time to spend hanging out with whoever drops by. If you find yourself in the neighborhood, feel free to come keep me company!" Something to that effect and it almost always without fail brings a few guys in... Usually guys who have already spent $$$ on me before because I only invite people to like my page who've already come in and spent good $$$ on me. And I've had a couple guys invite their friends to like me which gets me more fans and customers!
If you are down to earth and guys come to your club for a girlfriend type expirience (company, intelligent conversation, advice and un-winding after work regularly) then having a fan page can be very beneficial if you market yourself correctly and are straightforward in your boundaries that your page will be their only way to connect to you OTC. I would never reccomended putting a customer on your personal friend list though. It blurs the lines for them and can make them periodically forgetful of the fact that your relationship is purely transactional.

I had this happen a couple times. I think it has to do with if you've given anyone in the club your phone number and you inadvertently link that same phone number to your Facebook account.
As soon as I see them in suggested friends I block them and any mutual friends.
Re: Strippers & social media
I know of a few girls who use snapchat and Instagram to promote themselves
It works but you have to put in a lot of work. So unless you want to be a big name or something it's not really worth the effort
Re: Strippers & social media
Social media is a great way to promote yourself for any business, but I highly suggest having a website selling clips. NOT a membership website, I had a membership site before selling individual clips & I'm making WAY more with the clip site. You don't even need to offer hardcore stuff, one of my biggest selling clips is smoking clips. There are a few sites that offer web design, but I had my site created by . Its been a couple years so I would check out there feedback to make sure there still legit. Thanks
Re: Strippers & social media
^^^ While I think this is VERY good advice, I think the OP was talking about girls who dance in clubs. I would say it really depends on your persona/niche and customer base. I know a lot of the girls that work at urban clubs (really hate that word because Urban means the opposite of rural and nothing more but, I digress) use IG and have tons of followers and it helps them. I know that a lof of the girls from King of Diamonds are basically Instagram celebrities. However, if you are working at Rachel's of WPB or the Men's Club in Dallas I doubt that the older/professional clientele you are seeking will be on these sites and even if they were would be likely to follow you!
Re: Strippers & social media
I have a work fb with no photos and only my work name and a made up last name attached to it (also a gmail email that's just for that). I just use it to post whenever I'm working and where. When customers ask for my info that's what I give them (only if they are spenders). I also don't have conversations on there other then stating my work schedule.
Re: Strippers & social media
I used to provide the social media support to a local strip club, which included posting promos, pics etc as well as talking to 'potential customers' prenending to be dancer. I came to the conclusion that it is not the best idea. The only thing guys do is liking pics (aka jerk off to them), abusing your messages and asking to meet outside the club because they like you sooo much.
Blah blah blah.
No thanks, promo offers on fb and xmas emails to loyalty club did work waaay better.
