What related work experience do you need to be an exotic dancer?
I don't have a lot of work experience to be honest. But I'm just curious what is needed. You do have a good amount of contact with customers so you have a lot of customer service experience. I have had 3 jobs so far. One in telecommunications and surveys one in fast food as a crew member upfront never was good at cooking or anything though and the other my first job as a greeter and front desk assistant. So not a lot of experience at all. But that totals out to about a year and a half in different aspects of customer service. Of which I've been good at so far. What I'm wondering is what more does one need to actually take the next step of applying to be a dancer. I also have a lot of confidence especially as far as dancing on stage as I did it for two years and was a dancer of a different type of dance. So I have no issue with this I'm very confident as long as I know what I'm doing. What bothers me is what dances you do. And then of course private dancers become an even more difficult aspect. Plus I'm a bit of a clumsy tomboy if I don't know what I'm doing. And then a more weird I guess fact is I am a virgin so I've never like been in a suggestive situation. But I'm not put off by it either. It just makes me like I don't know how flexible dancing is as far as like I don't think I could dance when I'm like on. So I'd be out a week. Maybe a little less. But yeah I am interested in dancing because I am very confident and very good with communication skills and customer service skills. But there are some questions I have about it. Advice? If anyone has any?

None.
Stripping is primarily sales & customer service, & I think you're already km ahead of many new girls bc you recognise this from the get-go.
What you lack in real-time experience, you can make up for via sales books & Hustle Hut. Read up on various sales techniques. Conversation & sales skills will improve as you work.
Sm clubs can be pickier than others re: looks, dancing experience, etc. These tend to be much higher-end clubs tho. Dives & mid-tier clubs tho, they tend to be more flexible. Best thing to do is read thru ALL the stickies in the Industry-specific sections … multiple times, even … then go to the club as a customer to get a feel for how that particular club works.

I am supposed to have experience in sales with the survey job but the managers aren't that great. What are some good sales books and thanks I will check those sections out. How much is it to be a customer?
I'm actually mostly confident in the looks department. I have huge boobs and a butt and am young and people call me a "doll" or barbs so that's fine. It's just dancing skills in this arena. Like my roommate who's half African and I were at party and she was trying to teach me like how to dance and I couldn't quite move like that at all. Like I can't move my butt much at all in an orderly fashion or anything. And I think I need to loosen up which I can do if I knew what I was doing.
Oh also is a club similar to a bar atmosphere? I've never been to a club. I've only been to bars and gay ones at that. It's apart of my volunteer work. I have to pass stuff out at various arenas.

Strip club managers, if they hire you, are not going to give a rat's ass abt your experience for the most part. They will get that you're new. It's very much a OTJ environment. You pretty much get thrown into the deep end w/o water wings, watch other girls, watch other girls, read StripperWeb, try out what you read on StripperWeb, watch other girls, try out more StripperWeb stuff … you get it.
Go to your local bookstore & ask where they keep sales books. Tons of the techniques that work in retail or other business areas are adaptable to the strip club.
Again, READ all the Industry stickies. Don't just skim over them or speed-read. They are Stickied for good reason. Search thru sm of the 'female customer' threads (run a search) to learn how to be a good female customer. They also get 'their own threads' for a reason :computer:

are the stickies in the industry section the first posts right? Because I couldn't tell they looked like the rest but either way thanks for the advice.

Honestly IME the less dancing skill (or self-perceived dancing skill) you come into the club with, the better. Some of the worst newbie shows I have seen have been girls who are positive they can dance and it doesn't translate well to a strip club stage. You're better off coming in with nothing and picking it all up from the club.
